Of Love and Sacrifices

“Orlando…” Viggo and Sean chorused upon noticing the younger man. They both went near him but even before Viggo could touch his husband…

“Sean… Please take me away from here… please….”

“Baby… baby please…. I- I’m sorry….” Viggo cried as he tried to reach his husband.

“No… N- not this time… I… I can’t take this anymore…. Viggo, please… just leave me alone… You said it yourself… I- I’m damaged goods….No matter how I try… No matter what I do… Things would never be the same again…”

“Baby, please…. I didn’t mean what I said… please….”

“No… I think it would be better for us to separate… we will just continue hurting each other….” Orlando tried to be strong for himself. This time, he can’t let Viggo see how weak he could be. He’s tired of being weak. He has to do this or he will end up destroying himself… and Viggo.

Viggo was not able to stop Orlando. The younger man is determined. So Sean was not able to do anything about it. He brought Orlando to his parents. On their way, the young man could not stop from crying.

“Orlando… it’s going to be okay… you’ll see… Viggo loves you so much…”

“Stop it, Sean… I know he loves me… But his love would never be enough. I am no good to him like this. I’m useless…”

“No, Orlando! You’re not… Please don’t ever think of that. You’re one of the strongest person I know…. “

“W- why do they have to do this to us?... Why did it have to be me?....”

“Orlando….” Sean stopped his car and hugged the sobbing younger man. “It’s not your fault… I know it hurts…. But I want you to remember that you are not alone… I am here and I will support you… you can get past this…you’ll see…”

“Sean, please… don’t… I know you’re feeling guilty about what happened… you always thought you were responsible for this… Please… you don’t have to make me your responsibility….”

“I’m not making you my responsibility… I’m not doing this because I’m obliged to…. I’m doing this because I want to…because I’m your friend…”

“T- Thank you…”

Days passed and Orlando stayed with his family. Viggo never visited him. This time, Viggo was no longer sure of what to do. He loves his husband but he is also thinking that maybe, maybe their current situation is better than staying in one house. Maybe Orlando is right. They will just continue to hurt each other.

Simon saw his opportunity. While Viggo longs for his husband, Simon was always there to give Viggo the comfort that he needed. Simon would visit him in the office… and they would end up having sex almost everyday.

Months passed quickly. Simon had Viggo to himself. While Orlando stayed with his family. Sean would always be there for him. He would visit Orlando every time he is free. He knew how Orlando longs to be with his husband and they both knew what was going on between Viggo and Simon.

Sean would bring Orlando lots of food and would always see to it that the younger man is eating them. Sean thought at first that he was doing those things because he wants to take care of the younger man for his best friend. But as time passes by, he realized that he likes Orlando’s company. He wants to be with him. He hates to admit it but he is slowly falling in love with Orlando.

“Martin… what? Tell me now… Don’t hide anything from me…” Simon said as his doctor friend finished examining him. He and Viggo are having sex all the time and he wants to get pregnant. In that way, he had more reason to convince Viggo to file for divorce. As he can see it, a baby is the only one lacking in his hold with Viggo.

“You know you would never get pregnant… Simon.”

“What?!” Simon was confused.

“I’ve examined you… and the tests showed that you at least had four abortions in the past… You can’t get pregnant anymore… You should have known better…”

“No…. I have to be pregnant!”

“I’m sorry…”

”No!... Viggo wants children and I have to give him children!”

“You should have thought about that when you aborted your children in the past…”

“No… No!...”

Sean brought Orlando to a restaurant. Orlando is already on his ninth month and he does not want to go out. He told Sean he is feeling fat and ugly but Sean told him that he is the most beautiful man he knew.

“So, what do you want to eat?” Sean asked as he seated Orlando on the chair.

“Anything… Actually, I’m not very hungry….”

“But I think, junior is…” Sean said. They already knew that the baby is a boy. But Orlando haven’t decided on the baby’s name yet.

“Sean?!” Orlando smiled at Sean. His smile faded when he saw Viggo and Simon entered the restaurant. Viggo and Simon saw them immediately.

Viggo can’t help but feel jealous. It has been a while since he last saw his husband and he did not expect Sean to be with him. The couple were happy.

Orlando could not keep his eyes off the couple. It’s as if Simon is making moves to make him feel abandoned. Simon was kissing Viggo in public.

Sean saw the hurt in Orlando’s eyes. “Orli… would you want us to go?...”

“Y- yes, Sean… please…”

Sean immediately stood up to lead Orlando away. But before they could leave the place…

“Orlando….” It was Viggo. he could not take it anymore. He just wants to have a word with his husband so he followed them… much to Simon’s disappointment.

“Viggo…” Orlando turned back. He can see the longing and the overflowing jealousy in his husband’s eyes.

“P- Please… c- can I talk to you?”

“No… I don’t think your companion would want that… After all… you seem to be getting what you want from him…”

“Orlando, please!” Viggo begged as he held his husband’ wrist.

“Let me go…”

“Viggo, let him go…” Sean moved to defend Orlando.

“No… Sean, this is between me and my husband! And I want to have a word with MY husband!” Viggo warned. His hold tightening. Orlando winced in pain.
“Stop this Viggo! You’re hurting him!” Sean said as he took hold of Viggo’s arms.

Before Sean could do anything, Viggo punched him in the face. “He is still my husband Sean!”

“After what you did?!...” Sean shouted.

Simon was shocked. He just stood there.

“Sean, Viggo, stop it!” Orlando rushed to stop both men. But the two men continued fighting each other. “Stop it! Please! Aaahhhh!!!”

The two men were holding each other when they heard Orlando cry out.

“Sean… Sean… “ Orlando said as he held his stomach.

The two men stopped when they noticed that Orlando is in pain.

“Orlando!” Viggo rushed to his husband’s side… “W- what’s wrong?!”

“T- The baby… I… I… ahhhh!”

“Shit! Simon, help us!” Viggo shouted at Simon.

“O… Okay…” That was all Simon could say.

The three wasted no time. Viggo carried his husband and Sean drove the car.

“It’s okay… baby… it’s okay… I’m here…” Viggo said as he comforted the younger man.

“It hurts!....”

“Sean, drive faster!” Viggo shouted.

“I’m doing my best, Viggo!”

When they arrived at the hospital, Sean called Orlando’s parents. They were still far from the place and Orlando is already about to give birth.

“We need to take the patient to the delivery room… will someone from his family accompany him inside?”

Sean and Viggo looked at each other.

“I will… I’m his husband…” Viggo finally answered.
“Okay…” The doctor just nodded and left. Sean and Simon waited outside.

“Mom….” Orlando is in so much pain.

“Baby… she’s on her way… I’m here… I won’t leave you…”

“Aahhh…. V- Viggo…” Orlando had no choice but to lean to Viggo. No matter what had happened, he is thankful that Viggo is here with him. He does not care any more if the baby is Viggo’s or not. He wants Viggo here with him when he gives birth.

Several more minutes and Orlando was finally able to give birth to a healthy baby boy. He fainted after the child came out. But he could very well remember that Viggo was telling him how much he loves him over and over again and that the is sorry for the things he had done… and most importantly.. that Viggo is willing to accept the child as long as Orlando accepts his husband again.

Simon did not stay at the hospital. Upon learning from Sean that Orlando’s family is on their way, he decided to go. He told Viggo to follow him as soon as possible.


Orlando was brought to the recovery room and Viggo stayed with him.

When Orlando’s family arrived and saw Viggo, they were so angry that they asked him to leave. But Viggo would not leave. He will not leave his husband at any cost. Orlando’s brothers tried to hurt him but the hospital guards were able to stop them. The hospital personnel also informed them that Viggo, as the husband, has every right to be there. In the end, the family gave up and allowed Viggo to be with Orlando. But with a promise that they will get back to him as soon as all these are over.

When the doctor came in, he had the baby with him.

“Mr. Mortensen… here’s your son…”

“M- my son?.....” Viggo was surprised… Was he hearing it correctly?! His son?...

“Yes… we performed the tests… your DNA matched with that of the baby’s….”

“No… Oh my God… M- my son….My son….” Viggo could not believe his ears. The baby is his… his own blood… his and Orlando’s…..

Viggo cried so hard…. He took the baby and kissed it… Orlando’s family were also overjoyed. They momentarily forgot their anger at Viggo…

Sean was also there…he does not know what to feel… he is happy with the news… but he is also a bit sad… Orlando still loves Viggo. He knew it in his heart....

Viggo went to Orlando’s side. His husband is still asleep… “ I’m so sorry for everything… I still love you so much… I don’t know if you can still forgive me… but all I know right now is that I will fight to have you and our son back….” Viggo said as he kissed his husband’s forehead.
