Chapter 7.
Brennil was more then just a little nervous as she arrived at Glorfindel’s door. She knocked softly and looked down at her dress as she waited. She still was not sure that she could do this. How would she spend most of the evening with him and still be able to pretend she did not remember everything. When she heard the door open, she looked up slowly and almost threw herself into his arms and admitted everything. He looked so good in his light blue tunic that she had to force herself to look up into his eyes and smile sweetly.
“ I am glad you came.” Glorfindel told her. He took her hand and led her into the room with him.
“ I was not sure that I would at first.” She admitted.” Elladan convinced me it was a good idea.” She added softly
“Elladan?” Glorfindel repeated, his eyebrow arching slightly. “ Did he?” he added, looking over at her
“ Yes” she said smiling softly. She could almost see the jealousy in his eyes and it made her feel even more guilty.
“ You talk to him often then?” Glorfindel asked, trying to sound casual about it but Elladan’s warning ran through his mind. Was the older twin trying to court her now as well? This was something he planned to find out and it he was, Glorfindel was going to put a stop to it before it went any further. Brennil was his.
“ Yes” she replied. “ Both Elladan and Elrohir have helped me a lot in the past few days” she told him.
Glorfindel was not sure how to reply to that. He wanted to be the one who was helping her, not have it be the twins. As they walked into the sitting area, he grinned as she looked around then had smiled up at him. He was tempted now more then ever to lean down and kiss her but he held himself back for now.
“ You did all this?” She asked, placing her hand on his arm as she looked around again. He had candles lit all through the room and a blanket set on the floor in front of the fireplace where their meal waited for them.
“Yes.” He replied, leading her over to where the food was set for them.” I wanted to do something special.” He added as she helped her to sit down before sitting next to her.
Brennil smiled as he had reached over and tucked her hair behind her ear. She knew she was blushing when she felt the warmth in her cheeks.
“ We should eat.” Glorfindel said quietly before reaching over to offer her a piece of fruit.
She thanked him quietly as she took the fruit and bit into it, blushing again when she saw him watching her. She was not sure she could get through this if he kept smiling at her that way. When he finally looked away to eat, she let out a soft breath of relief. This was harder then she realized it would be. He was being sweeter then he had ever been and it was only making her love him even more but she could not tell him that, not yet.
“Are you free tomorrow?” He asked her as they finished their meal
“ I have no plans as of yet.” She replied
“ I was hoping you would like to join me for a ride.” He said, giving her a hopeful look.
“ I would love to” she replied softly. Enjoying the relief in his eyes when she agreed.
Glorfindel told her he had some training to do the next morning but he would meet her after that and they could enjoy a ride along the lake or anywhere Brennil wished to go.
After they finished the meal. Glorfindel took a minute to clear away the food then came back to join her in front of the fire, handing her a glass of wine.
“ Do you remember anything at all?” he asked her.
“ Just broken images,” she replied, biting her lip gently. It would be easy to tell him little pieces of what she knew but she did not want to make him suspicious either.
“ I had one image of you just before” she told him.
“ What image did you see?” he asked. “ Perhaps I can tell you what memory it was.” He added
“ All I saw was you with some books behind you” she replied, shrugging slightly as if she could not figure out the rest, though she knew very well it was of him in the library the day she had teased him.
Glorfindel grinned slightly and nodded. He told her vaguely of them talking in the library. He was not sure she would want to hear what had happened exactly.
Brennil nodded in reply, knowing there was more but did not push the issue. She did feel guilty about lying but it was easier to talk to him about what memories she chose to have for him.
“ I also saw us at a lake but I do not think we were in Rivendell” she said softly
Glorfindel had to think about that before he realized she must have remembered part of their journey from Lorien.
“ Erestor had asked me to escort you here from Lorien.” He told her. “We spent one night camping by the water.” He added
“ Did we decide to go swimming then?” she asked, giving him an innocent smile
“ You can say that.” He replied, knowing he had joined her in the water without asking her.
“ Is that all?” She asked softly “ I get the feeling you know more then you are telling me.” She added
Glorfindel took a sip of his wine, watching her as he debated telling her of their journey home. After a short hesitation, he told her what he knew. Smiling to himself when he saw her blushing
“ I wish I could remember the rest” Brennil spoke softly as she looked over at him.
“ I am sure you will in time” He replied.
He reached over and took her glass of wine from her, setting it aside before leaning closer to her. “ And by then I hope we will have made even more memories.” He said
Before Brennil could reply, Glorfindel leaned in and kissed her softly. She knew she should not let him but it felt good to be kissing him and she responded to his kiss slowly.
“ I have wanted to do that all night,” Glorfindel told her as the kiss had ended
Brennil smiled at him and nodded.” I wanted you to” she admitted.” Though I did not know why.”
Reaching over, Glorfindel brought her closer to him and kissed her again, deeper this time. He felt her shiver against him just as she had reached into his hair and responded to his kiss.
“Brennil.” He growled, tilting her head back and kissing along her neck. It has not his plan to allow this to happen between them but the more he kissed her the more he wanted her. When he felt her hands move under his tunic and against his skin he could feel himself becoming even more aroused. He was sure she had no clue as to the effect she was having on him.
Slowly, Glorfindel lowered her onto the blanket. He kissed along her neck then up to her ear as his hands moved over the front of her gown. He wanted her and she showed no signs of stopping him either. Moving back to her mouth, he kissed her tenderly as he worked open the front of her gown.
.” I have missed this,” He purred against her neck as his hand moved over her exposed skin. He could feel and hear her deep breathing and it only aroused him even more.
Brennil gasped softly when Glorfindel lowered his head and licked around her nipple, finally taking it into his mouth. All she could do was close her eyes and enjoy the feelings that were moving through her. There was no doubt in her mind that she wanted him, wanted to feel him this way once more.
“ Glorfindel.” she purred softly, her back arching towards him as he switched to her other nipple. She felt his hand moving slowly down over her stomach and moaned softly, wanting and needing to feel him touch her. She cried out softly when he gave her what she wanted. Her hands gripping his shoulders as his fingers moved along her center. She could feel his arousal pushing against her hip as she moved closer to him. Reaching down slowly, she rubbed his arousal over his leggings and smiled to herself when she heard him groaning. As her pleasure increased, she pressed against his hand, wanting more of his touch now.
“ We need to stop.” he growled, his own frustration showing in his eyes as he lifted his head to look at her.
“ why?” was all she managed to ask, breathing hard still even as he pulled his hand away.
“ Brennil” he sighed. “ Do not doubt that I want you.” He told her. “ I want you so bad that it hurts. I just want you to be sure of how you feel about me first. I want you to remember what had started between us.” He added
“ I do remember.’ She thought to herself, fighting the urge to shout this at him. He was becoming the elf she had wanted him to be only now all she wanted was for him to take her, to make her scream like only he could.
“ I need to go.” She said finally, pushing away from him and closing her gown as she stood. She had just made it to his door when he stopped her, wrapped his arms around her and kissed her softly
“ please do not be mad” he whispered into her ear.
“ I am not.” she sighed softly before finally turning in his arms to face him. “ we will still go riding tomorrow?” she asked softly
“ Yes.” He smiled at her. “ I would not dream of doing anything else.”
Brennil smiled up at him and enjoyed the soft kiss he gave her before he let her go. She promised to wait for him the next day and then left his room, blinking back her tears as she made her way to her room.
Glorfindel could have kicked himself for letting go as far as it had. He wanted her to remember things between them first. He also knew this meant he would have a lot to make up for but that was something he was willing to face when it was time. He gabbed his glass of wine and finished it in one sip before heading for his bed. He wanted to get the training session over with the next morning so he could take Brennil riding. He planned to have her ride his horse with him but only if she agreed. After a short while he had drifted off to sleep.
“ you cannot be serious.” Elladan almost shouted as he looked at Brennil. He had seen her walking towards her room and followed her there. “ He was the one who had stopped?” he asked, not sure he believed what he was hearing
“ Yes” Brennil sighed softly. They were sitting on the edge of her bed and she rested her head on his shoulders.
“ It’s too much, Elladan” she said.” I want to tell him the truth.”
Elladan had gotten up and went to the door, stopping a passing servant and requesting a bottle of wine for them
“ Not yet.” He told Brennil after pouring some wine for them. “ He is obviously wishing to make things right this time.” He continued. “ give it more time to see what happens.”
Brennil nodded but was not so sure she could continue to do this. She finished her wine in two big sips then had Elladan pour some more.
“ This will all work out in the end” Elladan told her after a few
“ you can’t be sure of that.” She replied quickly as she had more wine. “ what if he does find out I have been lying and decides he wants nothing to do with me?”
Elladan had no answer for that and instead he poured them each some more wine. He silently watched as Brennil paced back and forth along her room, sipping her wine and only stopping to get more once she was finished her glass.
“ come here.” Elladan said, grabbing her arm as she had passed in front of him. He let her finish her wine before taking the glass away from her. The bottle was already empty so he merely placed the glass onto a small night table before turning back to face her
“ things will work out” he said.” There is no reason he should find out unless one of us tells him and neither I nor Elrohir will do that.” He assured her
“ He could find out on his own, figure things out” She pouted.” It is so hard to lie to him and I hate doing it.”
Elladan rested his forehead against hers and messaged her shoulders.
“ Just relax, Brennil” He said. “ you will drive yourself insane if you keep worrying about this.” He told her. “and with as much wine as we’ve had it should be easy to relax” he said.
“ I have not had that much.” She replied softly but had giggled as she lifted her head to look up at him. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, feeling the effect of the wine now that she starting to relax. Perhaps Elladan was right after all, perhaps things would work out they way they had wanted them to.
Elladan was watching her as she had tilted her head up towards him, her eyes closed and he could feel her relax against him. He could see what Glorfindel saw in her now and figured the elflord better realize how lucky he was. Without thinking he lowered his head and kissed her, sliding one hand up into her hair slowly. He could have sworn he heard her moan into the kiss and moved her back towards the bed, letting them both fall onto it with him moving over her. He let out a soft moan as he felt her shifting beneath him and turned his head to kiss along her neck, one had still gripping her hair tightly.
“ Elladan.” Brennil tensed. She had returned the kiss without thinking clearly but this a was too much, It was not Elladan she wanted to be with.
“ I will finish what he started.” Elladan purred into her ear, pressing against her to let her feel how hard he was.
“No” she replied, trying to push him back. Not wanting to feel his arousal or even think about how it was starting to effect her.
“just once.” He moaned, nibbling her ear. He felt her shiver beneath him and reached down to push her shirt up before his hand moved to unlace himself. “ I promise you will enjoy this.” He moaned
“ Elladan please” she pleaded quietly, shifting to move away from him when she felt him unlace his leggings. She gasped softly when his hand moved between her legs and she moaned as she arched against his touch. “ I do not want this.”
Elladan could barely hear her pleas, his own desire to great now to ignore. He felt her arch against his touch and it only increased his need for her. His breathing deepened as he moved to place himself.
“ Elladan” Brennil cried out, panic begging to set in when he felt the tip of his arousal against her. She reached up and slapped him hard, wanting only to get his attention. Placing both hands against his shoulders she pushed him off her just as she felt him being pulled back
“ What are you thinking?” Elrohir hissed at his twin, pushing him down into the seat across from the bed.
Elladan gave him twin a confused look then looked back towards the bed. His eyes widened when he realized finally what he had been about to do.
“ Brennil” he groaned, tilting his head back and running his hands through his hair.” I am so sorry” he said softly.
Elrohir merely shook his head before turning to Brennil.
“ are you alright?” he asked her
Shaking her head, Brennil moved out of her bed. She could not even look at Elladan as she straightened her gown
“ I need to be alone” she said, giving Elrohir a look before turning to rush out of her room.
“Let her go” Elrohir said as Elladan had gotten up to go after her.
“ I have made a mess of things.” Elladan said, glancing at the empty bottle of wine
“ yes you have” Elrohir agreed.” Give her some time before you talk to her.” He added “ If she even agrees to talk to you and I would not blame her if she did not.” He sighed. “ We are the only ones she trusts right now and you go and pull a stunt like this, what were you thinking?”
Elladan sighed and shook his head.” That is the problem” he replied “ I was not thinking at all” he said.
“ Obviously.” Elrohir replied, watching his twin and let out a deep breath, wondering how or even if they could fix this.
Brennil made her way to the lake. She did not care how late it was, she wanted to clear her head. She did not completely blame Elladan and they did have all that wine to drink but she still felt betrayed. He was supposed to be her friend, the only one other then Elrohir that she felt she could trust and count on, now she was not so sure.
“ Brennil?” She closed her eyes when she heard his voice, wiping her tears before she turned around to face him
“ I saw you leave from my balcony.” Glorfindel told her. Even in the dark he could see how upset she was. “ you are upset, what happened?” he asked her softly
Brennil felt her tears start as she watched him. She did not know what to say to him or even how she could tell him what happened. Instead she just rushed into his arms and broke down. Closing her eyes as she felt him wrap his arms around her, holding her silently until she settled down.
After a while she finally looked up at him, seeing the concern in his eyes made her feel even worse. She knew she could not continue with this game anymore. She risked losing him now and that scared her but she wanted him to know the truth.
“ There is something you need to hear.”
