Chapter 7
Title: Reading Between the Lines (7/?)
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Orophin/Erestor, Glorfindel/Lindir
Warnings: AU, sarcasm, bad pick up lines
Disclaimer: If they were mine I would be rich. Seeing as I am broke, they are obviously not mine. But good lord do they make dreams worth while!
Summary: Orophin's first visit to Imladris is fairly uneventful and boring until he stumbles upon a certain black haired advisor in the library. Now his goal is to win Erestor's heart before he heads home again.

Orophin sat down on the library steps with a huff. He had exhausted every possible place for Erestor to hide and had no luck finding him. He was almost convinced the little elf had completely left Imladris. He had even checked the library three times, and not only was Erestor never there, but his pretty little assistant was gone, too.
Leaning back on the steps, he stretched his legs out in front of him, hoping to rest his weary muscles. The sun was going down behind the trees and night would soon be upon him. It was probably time to put the hunt off until tomorrow.
Hearing the snap of some nearby twigs, Orophin looked up with a start. Coming towards the library from his right was the little dark elf, head down, looking just as tired as him. He smiled as he watched him approach, seemingly oblivious to him sitting there.
Erestor looked up and spotted the smiling elf right away. He smiled in return and picked up his speed a little.
Standing before him, he looked down at Orophin and smiled deeper. “May I join you?”
“Promise not to run away again?”
“I do.” Erestor sat down, keeping several inches between them. As sure as he was that he wanted to do this, that was exactly how unsure he was, too. But he kept telling himself that Glorfindel was a lost cause and it was time to move on. And moving on to someone interested was a plus.
“Orophin, I wanted to apologize for before. I do not know what came over me, unless it was just my nerves. But I was rather rude.”
“You always are, but I think it is rather exciting, if I may be honest.”
Erestor blushed. “What I am trying to say is, if you are still interested, than your interests are being returned. I am no good at showing these things, so I must speak of them. And I am willing to give you a chance if you are willing to do the same.”
Orophin smiled. Finally! He had won the little elf over! Oh, the bragging he would do when he met up with Haldir again later on. “Of course. If I was not interested, I would not have spent the rest of the day hunting for you, too.”
“Mmm. No wonder I could not find you. We were probably circling each other the entire time!”
Both elves laughed before drifting off into silence. Erestor turned to watch the sky darken, unsure of what to say now. Orophin kept his eyes locked on Erestor’s face and continued to smile, a smug feeling still biting at him.
Turning back to the silver haired elf, Erestor smiled again. “It is getting dark. I have some things to finish in the library. Would you care to join me?”
“I would be honored. May I help with anything?”
“I am sure I can find something for you to do.”

Glorfindel sighed as he left the barracks, having spent more time than he had wished trying to break up an argument. Spending a night alone with Lindir had been a lovely plan, one he had hoped would not be interrupted. But after their fight, he figured he was in for another when he returned.
Stepping out into the evening air, Glorfindel breathed deep and looked over to Melpomaen, still waiting for him there, reading to himself.
“Melpomaen, you did not have to wait for me. I am sure you had much to do tonight.”
“Oh, no, I finished most of it this afternoon. Actually, I had wanted a word with you once the issues in there had been resolved. Do you have a moment?”
“Of course.” Glorfindel walked over and sat down on some rocks next to Melpomaen. “What is troubling you?”
“We are the talk of Imladris, you know?”
“Yes, I was alerted. By Lindir, unfortunately.”
“Oh, he must not be happy.”
“Not at all. We were actually finishing up a fight about it when you arrived. He will not believe me when I tell him we are not seeing each other secretly.”
“Would it be of any help if I spoke to him?”
“I do not believe so. He would just scratch out your eyes and walk away, I am afraid.”
“Well, we must do something. I have been trying to win the interests of someone else and believe she was about to accept. Now she ignores me, since these rumors have begun.”
“Yes, and Lindir and I are traveling a rocky path. I fear I am going to lose him, and for nothing.”
“What can we do?”
“I am not sure. Honestly, the best bet is probably to allow it time. Eventually it will grow old and the gossips will drop it.”
“How did it start, anyway?”
“Again, I do not know. Although I wish I did, because someone needs to learn a lesson. I cannot help but think it was Erestor, trying to get me away from Lindir.”
“Most certainly not! He has hardly spoken to me since the rumors have begun, and looks at me almost as if I sicken him. I hardly believe he would do such a thing.”
“He is rather taken by me, though.”
“That is true, but not enough so to try and take you away from Lindir. It is not like him.”
“I suppose you are right, and I will have to take your word for it. I do not know him well.”
“There is not much to know, I am afraid.”
“I figured as much. Melpomaen, it is getting dark. May I walk you back to your rooms?”
“Well, I was going to return to the library, but I am very tired. Maybe I will let my work go until tomorrow.”
“Alright, then let us go.”
The two elves stood and headed back toward the Last Homely House. The walk was silent. Glorfindel allowed his mind to wander off to his love. What was Lindir up to right now? And what was he in for when he returned? Of all the elves in Imladris, it had to be Melpomaen who came to get him to break up the argument, and it would have to be in the barracks. Lindir was not going to believe it was completely innocent. There was nothing between Glorfindel and Melpomaen, but it was difficult to convince Lindir of that, as jealous as he was.
Reaching their destination, both stopped. “I am alright from here, Glorfindel, thank you.”
“Alright then. Thank you for alerting me to the trouble. And if I think of anything to dispel the rumors, I will come to you with the idea.”
“And I shall do the same. Good night.”
Glorfindel stepped forward to take the steps first, but suddenly found he was falling. His foot tangled in a root coming from the ground and he did not know.
Melpomaen grabbed for him but was unable to stop the fall. Both elves toppled down onto the steps, Glorfindel finding himself on the steps, back down, with Melpomaen on top of him. He hissed as a pain pinched at his shoulder.
“Glorfindel! Are you hurt?”
“I think I only bruised my shoulder, I will be fine.”
Melpomaen reached out and began to rub his shoulder, Glorfindel wincing in pain. “I believe we need to get you to the healing wing.”
“I am fine, I only…”
“Oh, nice!” Lindir looked down on the two elves, arms crossed over his chest.
Glorfindel titled his head so that he could see the other elf, who appeared up-side-down from this point of view. Smiling up to him, he whimpered out, “I fell.”
“I see that. And lovely how Melpomaen just happened to land straddling your crotch.”
“Lindir, is not that! I honestly did fall!”
“He did, Lindir, I was only trying to catch him, but I cannot hold him, it appears.”
“Oh, get off it, Melpomaen. And get off of HIM while you are at it. Glorfindel. Our rooms. Now.”
“Yes, dear.”

Orophin followed Erestor up and down isles, carrying a stack of books that was growing less and less with every step. “This is much like our first meeting, is it not?”
“Yes, the same task, as usual. No one returns books to where they find them anymore. But this is slightly different.”
“How so?”
“I am not planning on pushing past you and being rude this time!”
“Oh, how nice of you! I do appreciate the kind gesture, you know.”
Erestor chuckled as he took the last book and pushed it back into its place. “You mentioned you like reading about plants.”
“You remembered!”
“Yes! Here, this book may interest you some.”
Orophin took the book from him. It was a collection of plants found mostly in Imladris and their uses. “Oh, I believe it will interest me a lot. I have been looking for something like this.”
“You may take it back to your rooms tonight, if you promise to return it tomorrow.”
“I will, thank you.”
Orophin plopped down on the ground with his back against a shelf of books and began thumbing through the pages. “Have you read this?”
“Yes, several times.” Erestor sat down next to him and leaned in to see which pages he stopped at.
Orophin looked over, noting how intense his face looked when he was over a book. He smiled. This little elf became more captivating every moment.
“Tell me, Erestor. How did you become so interested in books?”
“I do not know, really. I just did. I found out quickly that what I was learning was very useful in all aspects of life and just kept coming back to learn more.”
“You spent most of your time here as an elfling?”
“Yes, I suppose so. Most of my life in general, really.”
“Do you not enjoy going out?”
“I have never taken a liking to crowds. And besides… at gatherings and parties I always seem to sit there in silence anyway. Instead of doing that, I should be more productive. So I told myself that every time an event came up, I would spend my time here instead, learning something new.”
“Has it worked?”
“Yes… I have read every book in the library now.”
“Wow.”
“You think I am pathetic, do you not?”
“No… just smarter than you need to be, considering this new information. Tell me, Erestor. Would you go to one of these gatherings with me if I asked you?”
“Maybe. Probably.”
Orophin laughed. “I will take that as a yes.”
Erestor blushed. “I guess you should.”
“Now, I will warn you this time. Erestor, I am going to kiss you.”
His blush deepened his cheeks to maroon. “Alright. I promise not to throw you across the library in return.”
“I would appreciate that!”
Placing a hand under Erestor’s chin, he lifted his head slightly, slowly kissing him and tasting that spice once again. His tongue begged entrance, and Erestor granted it, moaning slightly at the invasion as their tongues danced the tango for several moments.
Erestor’s mind began to swirl, images dances through his mind, of past images and ones of the possible future. He was growing rather fond of this Silvan, and would not mind kissing him this way more often.
Another moan escaped his lips as he felt Orophin’s hand on his chest, feeling around for ways to open his robes. Erestor decided not to protest, instead helping him.
Pushing the robes to the ground, Orophin gently pushed him down so he was lying back on them, keeping the coolness of the floor from them. They hastily helped each other out of their clothing, breaking the kiss on when necessary and going back to it as soon as possible.
Working down Erestor’s body from his neck to his chest, he slowed enough to lick at his nipples, savoring the taste and the feel as they reacted to his touch. He gripped Erestor’s naked sides, moving with the gentle arch of his back as he was slowly teased, allowing small whimpers to escape so he was unsure of which one of them was actually whimpering.
Orophin continued his journey down the slender body beneath him, licking and biting at every inch of pale skin he could reach. He felt Erestor tangle his fingers through his hair, untangling them every so often to stroke lightly.
Reaching his erection, Orophin slowly slid the length of it into his mouth as far as he could, savoring the sound of Erestor’s low cry as he engulfed him, the quiver of anticipation against his tongue exciting him further.
He moved his head and lips expertly, teasing the underside of him with his tongue and tasting the tender flesh like a delicacy. Erestor bucked his hips, pushing himself further into that warmth, but yielded as Orophin gently pushed his hips down and continued the torturous pace.
Erestor could feel his release coming to the brink. He sucked in air hard and prepared himself for the flood of sensation as the release came, only to cry out in despair as he felt Orophin remove his mouth from him and apply a slight pressure, cutting of his release before it had time to start. Orophin looked down at Erestor, who sat up enough to stare at him questioningly, and smiled. “I am not done with you yet, release will have to wait. It will not be long.”
Erestor sighed and lay back down on the robes under him. His body tensed again as he felt Orophin slip a wet finger into his entrance. He closed his eyes tightly and thrust his body down onto Orophin’s hand as he slipped in the second finger and began to massage in the right places.
Feeling around in his own clothes discarded next to him, Orophin gripped the bottle of oil he had brought on his hunt in case such an event had called for it. Removing his fingers from Erestor’s tight body, he uncorked the bottle and smeared some of the oil on his hands. Coating himself thoroughly, he slid his fingers back into Erestor’s body briefly, long enough to coat him completely.
Lifting Erestor’s legs, he took the hint and wrapped them around Orophin’s slender body. He leaned down over the dark elf under him. “Have you ever been taken before, my beautiful advisor?”
Gasping, Erestor looked up to him. “No… this is… my first… time.”
Orophin smiled and kneeled again, placing himself at the tight opening of Erestor’s body. He watched as the dark haired elf squeezed his eyes shut and turned his head to the side. Slowly, he pushed himself inside of him, guiding with his own hand, until he was in to the hilt. Erestor whimpered in pain, but there was hint of unbearable pleasure in that whimper.
Taking it slowly, Orophin pulled himself almost completely out before slowly pushing himself back in to the hilt. Erestor’s body bucked at the sensations riding his spine like an electric jolt, his back arching and dropping with each following thrust.
After several minutes of the steady deep pace, Orophin allowed himself to spill inside his new lover as Erestor arched his back for the final time, a half sigh, half whimper escaping his lips as he spilled his own seed hard.
Orophin pulled himself from Erestor’s body and curled up next to him. It was not long before Erestor drifted off into sleep, no words being exchanged between them. The tall Silvan smiled as he watched his little friend’s steady breathing.
“I have succeeded, little one,” he whispered. “But so have you. I want more.”
