Author's Notes for story: This fic takes place mostly in Lothlorien. Some of the male elves are born with the ability to carry elflings. Yes, I know this has be done before :p Legolas is one of them,
and so are Elladan and Elrohir. These male elves are treated much differently then other males, or even females. They are the most rare and most protective, if sometimes over protected elves.
This means Elrond did not let Elladan and Elrohir did not go out orc hunting to avenge their mother. Of course he didn't discourage Arwen from doing so.I am just putting the ages they would be in
human terms, this is easier for me to do. Order of ages from olderst to youngest Haldir 30, Orophin 27, Elladan 23, Erohir 23, Arwen 21, Legolas 19, and Rumil 16. Yes, I made Rumil the
youngest instead of Legolas.

Chapter 7
"Elrohir is pregnant," Orophin informs his brother.

"WHAT??" Legolas yells out as he bolts up in bed

"Legolas quiet down," Haldir scowled then says softly
" You are going to wake up Rumil."

"Haldir?" Rumil asks sounding like he is rather lost
and confused. For a moment he doesn't understand why
anyone would be in his room.

"Why are you here?" he inquires as he yawns and
stretches.

"Because we didn't want to leave you alone after what
happened earlier," Orophin informs him.

"Then it wasn't just a dream, you two know about it?"
Rumil whispers more to himself then to his brothers.

"Yes, we do and Legolas too," Orophin replies and nods
his head towards Legolas as he says his name.

Rumil turns his head quickly to glace at Legolas who
is sitting up as if in a daze. Rumil thinks this is
because Legolas is upset with him or doesn't really
want to be around him.

"I'm sorry," Rumil whispers. He starts to wake up
more, and realizes there is something he needs to do,
and do soon.

"Shhh go back to sleep, Rumil," Haldir soothes.
He doesn't want Rumil to wake up, just yet.
Rumil ignores Haldir and tries sit up, so he can
leave, but Orophin gently pushes him back down.

"Let me up, 'Phin," he states irritated.

Orophin doesn't let go, and tries to get his younger
brother to go to sleep again. "Go back to sleep,
Rumil."

"Let me up," Rumil demands, sounded panicked, as he
pushes Orophin and tries to get out of the bed.

Legolas, who had been in a daze for the last few
moments after hearing that Elrohir is pregnant, turns
and looks at his two brothers-in-law. He smacks
Orophin's arm hard to get his attention and says "Let
him up."

Orophin lets go of Rumil and turns towards Legolas
"Don't hit me!" he barks out causing Legolas to back
away from him and crawl near to his husband.

Rumil takes this opportunity to jump of the bed and
runs out of the room, quickly followed by Haldir and
Orophin, who do not want to let their little brother
out of their sight.

Rumil heads out the front entranceand climbs down the tree
. He grits his teeth because his arms hurt from the slashes.

"Rumil, get back here," Haldir orders. has he runs
outside after his brother

"Or you are in serious trouble," Orophin adds as he to
runs after Rumil.

The elfling whirls around, and says " But I have to
go," as he stands there fidgeting. Looking much
younger then an elfling of his age should.

"You do not have to go anywhere at this time, Rumil.
It's not even morning yet," Orophin informs him. 'Why
is he running way from us? We told him we were sorry
and were not going to leave him'

"Yes, so get your butt back here. Right now!" Haldir
demands sounding more worried then angry.

"But Haldir," Rumil whines out. He doesn't know what
to do here. He always obeys Haldir, but this is a bit
different.

"No buts Rumil, get back here right now, or I am going
to spank you." Haldir orders, as he points to the
ground in front of himself.

"And then you can just clean up after him as well,
because I am not going to," Legolas states as he comes
up behind his husband.

"What?" Haldir asks irritated, not having any clue
what his wife is talking about and doesn't feel like
playing games now.

"Sometimes I wonder if you paternals have any common
sense at all. Rumil and I will be back, after he has
finished," Legolas replies as he walks past Haldir and
Orophin.

"Legolas get back here," Haldir orders as he walks
towards Legolas, who is now heading to where Rumil is.

Legolas ignores his husband and walks up to Rumil,
grabs his right hand, turns to Haldir and says " Now,
Haldir I know you want to protect me and Rumil, but I
believe the we are quite capable of going to the
toilets by ourselves." then quickly heads with his
youngest brother-in-law, in that direction.

Legolas and Rumil spend several minutes in the toilets
and washroom. They both relieve themselves and spend
several minutes washing off. Rumil, who has never been
in the maternal males' part of the toilets, checks out
all the things that the paternal males don't have in
theirs. There are a few things he doesn't understand,
but isn't going to ask Legolas about them. Finally
they finish up and start heading back.

Rumil hasn't said a word to him yet and Legolas is
starting to become a little worried, that Rumil might
really hate him for some other reason. "I talked to
Haldir and I know why you said all those things to me
Rumil. At least I thought that was why. I hope you
really don't hate me," he whispers out.

"How can you like me after what I did?" Rumil asks
sounding lost and confused again.

"Because you were hurting and still are. It was not
because of me, it was because of happened to you,"
Legolas states.

"I was so jealous, Legolas. I am so sorry. I wanted to
be myself and couldn't," Rumil replies then breaks

down crying. He falls to his knees and starts shaking.
" Don't I look ridiculous" he asks

"No, of course you do not look so. You are upset and
it's understandable. You have kept your real emotions
buried far too long," Legolas says reassuringly as he
hugs Rumil from behind.

"I thought I was going to lose my bothers. They
said.." Rumil to tell Legolas about what happened when
he was younger, but can't finish.

"Yes, I know what they said, and they are very sorry
about that. You three need to talk and we need to get
back. They are very worried by now," Legolas says then
pulls Rumil up and they begin walking back home again.

"I really want to be myself. How am I going to be
myself now, though?" Rumil asks himself.

Legolas prepares breakfast as he watches Rumil,
who is fast asleep with his head lying on the table.
Haldir and Orophin discuss what they are going to do
about Rumil. Now that they know he is a maternal, they
can not treat him like a paternal. This means many
aspects of their life are changed. For one Rumil was
supposed live by himself in a few years, but of course
that was not possible now. Maternal males didn't live
alone. It just wasn't something done.

"Of course he has to quit. I already talked to his
instructor and informed him that Rumil woud not be
coming to archery practise again," Haldir informs
Orophin.

"Noooooo!" Rumil yells as he jumps up out of his
chair. He had been pretending to sleep for the last
few minutes. "Why did you do that for?"

"Because maternal males do not go to archery classes
with paternal males. You know this Rumil." Haldir
replies.

"But I want to practice. I am good at archery," Rumil
states as he stands in front of his brothers.

"We know this Rumil, but we can't allow you to do it,
not with them," Orophin says as he walks towards his
brother. He pulls Rumil into a hug and rubs his back.

"Why do you seem skinnier today, baby brother?" he
asks with concern.

"I usually have several layers on. It makes me seem
bigger," Rumil informs him. He had put on only one
layer when he woke up an hour ago.

"I could be maternal while at home and still pretend
to be paternal while out in public," Rumil suggests
after a few moments. He is worried that his friend
will start ignoring or teasing him. Plus he doesn't
want to give up his bow. The brothers' conversation is
interrupted by a knock on the front door.

"Come in!" Legolas yells out towards the other room.
"Legolas go and answer the door, please. That is rude,
as I have told you several times," Haldir scowls and
reaches to swat his wife.

Legolas whirls around quickly and shows Haldir that
his hands are full of dough mixes, and says " I can't
leave the kitchen like this."

Haldir moves away from Legolas again, as he doesn't
want to get dough on himself.

"What are we eating?" Elrohir asks with a grin as he
bounds into the room.

Elladan enters behind him and moves over to his
husband. He wraps his arms around Orophin's middle and
hugs him. " I missed you last night," he sighs out.

"And I missed you, "Orophin replies, then kisses him.
He looks around for his children then asks " Where are
the little ones?"

"They are picnicking with Arwen and then go swimming,"
Elrohir informs his brother-in-law.

"Is everything alright?" Elladan asks with concern. He
notices that everyone in the room but he and Elrohir
look like they didn't sleep much.

"No, but we will talk about that later. We need to sit
down, as a group and discuss this. I believe we need
to get a few others together first as well," Orophin
informs his wife.

"Alright," Elladan replies knowing that Orophin will
tell him when the time is right.

Legolas announces "We are going to have hot cakes with
berries, some nice tea" answering Elrohir's question
from a few minutes before Then turns to him and says
“I am mad at you Elrohir." While he thinks Haldir and
the others are ridiculous telling him that he can't go
into the woods near his home and such, he knows going
that far from home, while pregnant is another thing
altogether and he agrees with the others, that it was
very dangerous and stupid of Elrohir to do.

"What? I didn't do anything," Elrohir pouts out.

"You don't call coming here all alone while pregnant
anything? Really Elrohir!" Legolas replies sounding
disappointed.

"Stop it!" Elrohir yells out at his friends, then
softens his voice and adds " I have already been
spanked by Elrohir, Arwen and both of my grandparents
for doing so. I don't need you scowling me as well."

"Yes! He must save his energy until Ada and Erestor
get here," Elladan informs everyone.

"Can we get back to me now?" Rumil asks impatiently.
He doesn't care if the twins are there or not. They
are his brother-in-law, and his brother-in-law's
brother, so have no special treatment, as other guests
would

"Rumil you are being rude, "Legolas warns.

Rumil walks towards the door and says "Then I shall
just leave and get my bow myself" then heads out and
climbs down the tree,

Rumil ignores his brothers, who are once again
climbing after him, and the twins who he can hear
inside complaining to Legolas about how rude he is. He
finishes climbing down and walks a few steps then
smacks into someone. He looks up and sees....
