Rating: NC-17
Summary: Rúmil is a bit...different from other male Elves. After 500 years of
hiding
from love he falls for the Prince of Mirkwood. But their union has some
unexpected results...
Notes: In this story, Orophin is the youngest and Haldir is the oldest.

Morning came all too soon for the Prince of Mirkwood and his guardian.
Malenfinnon woke them just past sunrise. Apparently this was the day they were
to leave on their journey back to Mirkwood. Legolas had forgotten…

Rúmil could not hide the small that played on his lips, nor the scarlet tinge of
his cheeks as he made his way back to fletflet he shared with his brothers. He
could still feel Legolas inside him—everywhere inside him. Over and over, in his
mind, he relived every touch, every kiss, every word he and the Prince had
shared the night before. The memories brought a fluttering feeling to his
stomach.

"Where were you?" Orophin demanded as Rúmil entered the talan.

"Out," Rúmil answered, casually, and continued on his way to his room to change.

Orophin followed his older brother, disturbed by his unusually indifferent
attitude. "Why did you not tell us that you would not be coming home? I was
worried… and besides, what were you doing all night?"

That last question drew the line for Rúmil. He could understand that his brother
was worried; but to address him so angrily… and worse yet, to assume that there
could be no nighttime activities for him?

"Do not speak to me like I am an Elfling who is incapable of caring for
himself!" Rúmil started, standing only a breadth away from Orophin. "How many
times have you stayed out all night and not told us that you would not be coming
home? And what did you do on those nights?"

"Who were you with?" Orophin demanded further. Despite his outer display of
anger, inside he shook with for that Rúmil may have shared himself with another.

At that moment strong hands were laid on Orophin’s shoulders. "Calm down, Phin.
Everything is alright."

"Nay, Haldir, everything is not alright!" cried Orophin, breaking free from his
brother’s grip. "What righes hes he have…"

"He has every right," Haldir interrupted, "and he does not owe you an
explanation."

Orophin turned to leave at hearing Haldir’s words, but not before giving Rúmil
one last look. It was a look that startled Rúmil, full of pain and regret.

"I do not understand him," Rúmil said when Orophin left.

But Haldir understood. He understood that it was Orophin’s jealousy that made
him behave that way. If he himself were not older and wiser he would have acted
in much the same manner, for he also desired Rúmil; but he had decided, long
ago, that it would be better for his younger brother if he did not act upon such
feelings.

"It is only his way of showing that he cares for you," Haldir answered. "Were
you with Legolas?" he asked, watching how his brother’s muscles rippled with
each movement as he changed his shirt.

"Aye."

"Did you have a good time?" Haldir asked, his voice betraying his sadness more
than he would have liked.

Thankfully, Rúmil did not seem to notice. He only smiled and said, "Aye, I did."

"My brothers are not here, Orophin," said Legolas as he continued packing, not
even bothering to look at the ‘Lorien Elf.

Orophin scoffed. "I am not here to see your brothers," he said in an arrogant
tone. "I came to see you."

"And what do you want from me?"

"I want to say goodbye and wish you as safe journey home," Orophin’s voice
suddenly turned sweet as honey. "I am going to miss you, as I always do."

The Prince laughed. He knew Orophin well enough to know that that was not all he
wanted. "I think there is more to your visit than that."

"Do you want there to be more?" Orophin asked, gently touching Legolas’ upper
arm.

The Wood Elf turned sharply to face him. "Nay, I do not," he spat.

Orophin only smirked at the response, though it stung. After loosing Rúmil there
was no way you would let Legolas off that easy. He needed something to numb his
aching heart. "Maybe this will change your mind," he said and encircled the
Prince in arms of steel, capturing his lips in a hungry kiss.

Legolas tried to push the Guardian away, but in his current position could apply
enough strength to do so. So he waited, endlessly it seemed, as Orophin’s tongue
relentlessly sought entrance to his mouth.

Finally, Orophin gave up. "What is wrong with you? Do you really find me so
repulsive?"

"Nay," Legolas answered truthfully. "But unworthy… and my heart already belongs
to another."

*****

Rúmil hurried towards Legolas’ talan. They had planned to meet again before the
princes left, to say goodbye and maybe, he hoped, have another tumble between
the sheets. He would surely enjoy taking Legolas again, now that there were no
secrets between them.

The Galadhrim froze as came to the doorway of the Prince’s bedroom. He felt as
if someone had squeezed all the air from his lungs. There was Legolas, the
source of his happiness and the warmth in his heart, in the arms of his slutty
brother, hands clawing at his chest and lips glued together. Without a single
word, he backed away from the horrible scene and fled the talan.
