CH 7
“Arwen, I am wonderful! I see you are still the same demanding Elf Maiden as you were in our younger days!” Legolas stated knowing she would probably get a little touchy.
Arwen glared at him for a moment, “I will take that as a compliment from you, Prince Legolas.” She took notice of the leaves in her sister’s hair.
“I am coming Arwen, Legolas was helping me down off the tree, I slipped and he broke my fall. You know how I am, clumsy at times.” Larien replied in embarrassment.
Arwen looked at her now bruised and scraped arm that was bleeding. “Larien lets get that looked at by the healer.” Arwen said but Larien quickly covered it up.
“Its alright, Arwen, just a scratch, It will heal on its own.” Larien replied.
“Alright, it’s best you and I get back to our chambers.” Arwen commanded.
“Goodnight, Prince Legolas!” Larien said as those sky blue eyes hit her soul like lighting. Both of them curtsied at the young attractive Elf Prince.
“Same to you, Fair, Larien Anwamane and to you as well Lady Arwen.” Legolas replied as he bowed.
Larien and Arwen walked back up the path as Legolas walked in another to find his friend, Haldir.
Arwen had many questions for her youngest sister about the talk the Prince and her shared in the tree but she thought first it would be appropriate to apologize about the earlier incident.
“I wanted to say, how truly sorry I am for not believing what you said about your encounter with Prince Legolas. That was rude of me to laugh at you dear sister for I love thee with all of my heart.” Arwen said apologetically.
“It is quite alright as I accept your apology, please do not make a fool out of me again, especially in the company of Prince Legolas and Haldir. It was very out of character for you to laugh at my story.” Larien said with a stern voice to her sister.
The two sisters hugged and Arwen vowed never to speak to her sister in that manner again. Arwen suspected something was going on between Larien and Prince Legolas but waited to ask her sister about it. Most of the time they shared a lot of many secrets with each other and about their love interests.
As they approached, they saw their beds turned down for the night and food on the table. Larien was starving as she felt her stomach grumble as she saw the fruit and bread lying on a tray on the table. She picked up an apple and being to eat it.
“You are lucky I saved you some food while there was some left.” Teased Arwen as she giggled.
“I thank you for saving this food for me. I am starved after all of the events of today.” Larien thankfully said.
“It’s been quite an adventure, I might add. This is quite different then being in the care of Mother and Father, do you not agree? Arwen asked as she watched Larien eat her fruit and bread.
With a mouthful of an apple, Larien replied, “Aye it has been an adventure!” As she swallowed her apple that was so delicious, she began to continue.
“Let me tell you about my sword fight with the prince!” Larien stated.
“Aye, yes do tell! I want to here all about this sword fight with the Prince!” Arwen exclaimed.
Getting all giddy about it, Larien began, “I went to the stream to wash my face and get a drink of water when I heard a twig break in the distance. I went to check it out to see who out out in the darkened woods. I hid in a tree so the lurker would not see my form. As the cloaked Elf approached, I waited for the right time and then I jumped on him. The Cloaked Elf and I fought hard~” Arwen broke in for a moment.
“Did you know it was Prince Legolas?” Added Arwen.
Smiling at her eager sister, she continued, “Let me finish it, and no I did not know it was him. I fought hard as we wrestled to the ground and I broke free. I grabbed my sword and he grabbed his. Then next thing I knew we were battling with our swords, metal clinging metal. (She re-in acted the motions trying to give Arwen the full affect.) Then I tripped him to the ground, holding the blade to his throat as I felt are hearts pounding. I could not kill the whom ever it was so that is when Amras came over with the guards and seized whom ever it was under the cloak, that’s when his face was shown, Prince Legolas of Mirkwood. Amras thought I was one of his guards but he was shocked to know that I was the one to bring down Legolas.”
Arwen eyes were big as Larien finished, and stated, “ He is q han handsome, is they’re anything going on that you want to share?” It was written all over Larien’s face, she liked Prince Legolas.
Larien replied, Aye, you know how much of a smooth talker he is but nonetheless, he is quite handsome. Besides, Arwen, you will be the first to marry, not I.” Larien’s face got flushed because she did have feelings for the incredibly attractive Prince.
Arwen knew better, “I have not had the chance to talk with him much but he was very forgiving of my outburst this afternoon. Aye, young Larien, I am not courting anyone, so how can I get married? Besides, I am not ready to leave, just as you.” Arwen stated, however she always knew it would be Larien that would marry first.
Arwen stated in a yawning tone,” I am tired, Larien, I am going to get some rest now. Please blow out the candle with you are ready to go to sleep.” She took off her clothes and placed them by the door to be picked up by their maidservant that came along with them. She slipped into her nightgown and got into bed.
Finishing up her apple, Larien put the core on the trap and put it out side their chambers. She was not sleepy as she blew out the candle and told Arwen to rest, as she had to speak to Haldir before going to bed. Arwen nodded and put her head on the pillow as she fell as.
.
Walking out of their chambers she grabbed a book out of her bag, Larien stepped out into the cool night air. She took a walk to the stream to sit and look at the night sky. Larien saw the trees ahead of where the stream was located. The moonlight hit as it sparked the water. It was so inviting but knew that there were to many male Elves around and she was shy of her body being exposed.
She sat down and glared up at the moon that shined so brightly in the sky. Larien thought about how the way Legolas made her feel when he climbed up in the tree to comfort her and the touch that had ignited her own body when she thought about the way it made her feel. She placed the book into her hand and started to read.
Legolas was about to head in for the night when he saw the intoxicating Larien sitting by the stream reading. He walked over curiously to see why she was not asleep.
As he approached, Larien heard footsteps of another, she quickly turned her head to see whom it was that tried to sneak up on her in the night.
“Legolas is that you?” as he approached, Larien asked.
“Yes it is Lady Larien and why are not you in bed?” asked Legolas.
Legolas walked over and sat down beside Lady Larien. He liked just to sit and talk with the intriguing young maiden. She was so skillful and sharp at the same time, this turned Legolas on about her as he recalled a memory of their conversation of their younger days.
“What troubles your mind? Or are your book-wormish ways following you into your adult years.” Asked Legolas and pointed out.
She did not answer at first but replied, “I do not sleep well at night sometimes, especially when I am not in my own bed. It is kind oary ary sleeping out in these woods alone at night. Also I usually read before I go to bed.” Larien thought of how dumb that probably sounded but it was true.
“Aye, Lady Larien, you may come and rest with me, I would not let anything happen to you.” Legolas said remembering the time when they would camp outside together as children.
Laughing Larien teased back as she placed her book to the side, “What I would give to lay in your arms, Prince Legolas for a night?” Larien had a glimpse of seriousness that came across her eyes.
The look on Legolas’s face was priceless, “Would you? I did not think you were so easy, Lady Larien?” The questions filled Legolas’s eyes as he thought about the question.
LOL! Legolas bought right into that........
Arwen glared at him for a moment, “I will take that as a compliment from you, Prince Legolas.” She took notice of the leaves in her sister’s hair.
