This is work of fiction! I do not know the celebrity(ies) I am writing about, and I do not profit from these writings.
Full moon, saturday night.
Billy retrieved his fleece, hooded sweater from the back-pack and pulled it across his head. The sun had spread its warmth all day, but nevertheless it had cooled down quite a bit. Even the lady from the toilets had put on more clothes. He looked up to the sky to study the moon, which was big and full this night. Billy gazed in awe.
“Hoi, weet je toevallig hoe laat het is? ‘k ben m’n horloge vergeten, stom hè?” a cheery voice asked. It belonged to a young long-haired brunette dressed in a purple tank-top that stated: “I’m busy, You’re ugly, Have a nice day. T-shirts for women who take no crap” and a long, white Indian skirt. There were big black Dr. Martens on her feet and in her hands she held a dark-blue, velvet shoulder bag. Her blue eyes radiated quite the opposite of the text on her top.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t speak Dutch. I’m from Scotland. My name is Billy,” he said and put out his hand.
“Ah. Okee. Uhm…” she paused and Billy could almost séé her brain switching languages. “Hi, I’m Ilse. Nice to meet you.” They both smiled. “I asked if you knew the time, cause I forgot to wear my watch today.”
“It’s a quarter to eleven.”
“Thanks.” She paused again. Then she pointed to the big fire, “Is that your boyfriend sitting over there?”
“Uh… yeah.” Then he added another –more enthusiastic-“yeah!”. “How did you knów that?”
“I saw you this afternoon on the beach. You make a cute couple.”
Billy flushed just a little and stammered “We do? Thank you” and he added a big grin while stroking the back of his head.
“Ah-huh. You looked só in love.” She fluttered her eyes teasingly, followed by a wink and a smile. Billy laughed loud. She giggled back.
“Well, I’m cold, so I’m gonna sit by the fire. You too?”
“Good idea… uh, Ilse was it, right?”
“I knéw that you would have trouble remembering that!” and she slightly rolled her eyes while she chuckled. “It’s the second time that happened to me today. He was a tourist too”, she added.
Billy’s mind lit up. “Let me guess, a short American with big blue eyes?”
“How did you knów?!”
Dom, Billy and Ilse were sitting by the fire along with a lot of other people. Some of them were playing bongos. Ilse opened her bag and took out a hooded sports-jacket, causing a small, blue box to fall out into the sand. Dom picked it op, wiped the sand of and studied the lid. “Tarot.”
“Yeah, are you familiar with tarot?” She gently took the box from his hands and opened it.
“I’ve heard about it, but I’ve never seen it up close…”
She got a stack of big cards out that had a mysterious symbol on the back. She carefully shook the cards and grinned. “Pick a card, any card.”
Dom looked at his card. It showed a woman and a man, both holding a cup. There was a lion-head with wings hovering above them. Above it, the Roman symbol for the number two.
“Let me see…. ah, bokalen twee….” She looked in a little book, while leafing through the pages. She cleared her throat and began reading out loud: “Unity, longing for a partner; alliance…”
Dom was impressed. “Can Billy also try?”
“Sure!” She began to shake the cards again.
Now Billy picked one and showed it to her. She looked and frowned a bit. “Hmm, grote Arcana; het oordeel.” The card showed an angel blowing on a trumpet he che clouds. Underneath him were naked, grey-skinned people standing in their graves.
“Is that bad?” Billy asked.
“No, not really, I would have been worried if you had drawn the devil or the tower… She looked into the little book again and read: “Judgement, resurrection, transformation, the last judgement, letting go of the past. Does that ring a bell to you?”
Billy lied. “No, not really, actually.”
She glared behind Billy, smiled, almost with compassion, it seemed. Then she took his hand and looked into his eyes. “I know you’ve suffered very much, but I can assure you that you’re going to be very happy.”
Billy felt like crying, but he was able to suppress his tears. He couldn’t say anything.
Dom kissed him on his cheek. “She’s absolutely right! Now, let’s all get up and dance the worries away.” He received a grateful look from Billy.
The three of them joined Orlando and Elijah, who were dancing to “Loveshack if if they were Gogo-girls. Ilse smiled at a slightly embarrassed Elijah and Billy was laughing at him, exchanging a look of underdingding with her.
The full moon shone upon them as they danced the night away.
