Chapter Seven

Disclaimer: Nope, we don’t own them. Wish we did. This never happened (well, to the best of our knowledge), it’s just a figment of our twisted little imaginations. And we do hope that you enjoy it. :-D

More than a few people noticed the GIANT grin on Elijah’s face. The only person that didn’t seem thrilled was Viggo, who hit Orlando with a ‘what did you do?’ look as soon as he made eye cont

Orlando shrugged innocently at Viggo’s look. What? So things had gotten a little hot and heavy. . .what was wrong with that? He’d already decided he liked it and wanted to do it again.

Viggo’s eyes narrowed, then looked across the room to where Liv was, dancing with her husband. Ahem.

Meanwhile, Elijah was hitting the bar. He was old enough to drink and everything! La la!

Orlando’s eyes narrowed as he saw Liv and her husband dancing. Instantly his jealousy for Roy returned. Grr, what was he doing dancing with Liv? She was HIS, damn it.

He remembered Viggo was watching him and cleared his throat, flashing Viggo his most brilliant smile. What? He was so over Liv. She was ancient history. Yeah.

Viggo shook his head, then headed over to where Elijah was at the bar. He was going to find out what happened.

Orlando rolled his eyes as Viggo made his way to the bar. Jeeeeez, talk about overprotective. He made a face at Viggo’s back, then turned back to watch Liv and Roy. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Okay. . .so maybe Liv wasn’t THAT ancient history, he he did feel something for Elijah. Honest.

He strode over to Liv and Roy, exuding charm and charisma. He tapped Roy on the shoulder. “Mind if I cut in?” he asked, smiling innocently.

Liv looked confused. Roy glanced up at her, trying to read her thought on the whole thing.

Orlando smiled, waiting patiently. What? He just wanted to dance. That was all. Perfectly innocent.

“Okay,” Roy said suspiciously. “I’ll go get us drinks.”

Liv smiled at him adoringly, waving a little. When he left, she turned to Orlando.

“Okay. Let’s dance,” she said, rocking back on her heels a little.

Orlando smiled widely as he slid one hand around her waist, the other taking her hand in his. He felt like he was floating in the clouds. He was dancing with the most beautiful woman in the place.

“Liv, why did you marry Roy?” he asked as they began to dance in time with the music.

“Because I love him,” Liv said immediately, blushing and chewing on her lower lip. “Why else do you marry someone?”

At the bar, Viggo looked up as Roy approached, he searched the crowd for Liv, then rolled his eyes when he located her.

“What?” Elijah asked, noting Viggo’s expression. He turned around.

His jaw dropped.

“Yes, but why him?” Orlando asked. “What does he have that I don’t?”

“I don’t know. When you love someone, it’s not something you can really explain,” Liv said with a shrug. “Why are you asking?”

“Elijah,” Viggo said, shaking the other man’s shoulder. Elijah just kept staring.

“Because I love you, Liv,” Orlando responded. He didn’t even notice that Elijah was staring. All he cared about was Liv and making her understand that she was his. “I love you and I want you to be with me.”

Liv blinked, not sure how to respond to that.

“I’m married,” she said weakly.

“So?” Orlando said. “Divorce him. Marry me. We’re right for each other, Liv, why can’t you see that?”

Argh, where was Vanessa? Hadn’t she said she could help him get Liv? ‘Cause he certainly wasn’t doing a good job of it on his own.

“Orli, you’re acting really weird,” Liv said, pulling away a little.

“What’s going on?” Royston asked Viggo.

“Something you should get in the middle of,” Viggo responded. “Immediately.”

Elijah still wasn’t responding.

Orlando tightened his grip on Liv’s waist, his face hardening as he pulled her back closer. “I’m tired of pining away for you, Liv,” he said. “I want you and I will have you. Husband or not.”

“Orlando, let me go, you’re scaring me!” Liv exclaimed, starting to struggle. Roy and Viggo both started running toward them. Elijah blinked at the sudden movement. Was his world still falling apart? Why yes it was.

Orlando narrowed his eyes. “No,” he said, shaking his head. “I won’t let you go. You’re mine.”

He tightened his grip on her wrist, noticing Viggo and Roy running toward them. Fuck no. They weren’t taking Liv away from him.

He began dragging her out of the room, not caring where he went as long as it was away from Roy.

Liv screamed, which turned the attention of quite a few people toward them.

“Let her go,” Viggo said, his intense gray eyes flashing. “Don’t be stupid.”

“Hurt her and I’ll fucking kill you!” Roy swore, grabbing a beer bottle to use as a weapon.

Elijah finally came to his senses and gasped. Oh no! If Roy attacked him, Orlando might kill him!

Orlando laughed cruelly, glaring at Roy. “You’re not man enough to even try,” he hissed.

He glared at Viggo challengingly. Did he want a piece of him too?

“Orli, please,” Liv pleaded, her beautiful features violated by fear.

“Stop! Don’t!” Elijah exclaimed, darting in front of Roy. Unfortunately, it was just as Roy was lunging forward, and Elijah managed to get knocked on the head with a beer bottle.

“Oh my god! He hit Elijah!” Dom, who’d been watching the drama unfold, cried out.

“You bastard!” Biaddeadded. Dom looked at him. “What?”

Orlando hesitated a moment as he saw Elijah get hit. “Lij,” he whispered.

Then he heard a crashing sound and felt something smash into his head. He released Liv, looking confused for a second, then collapsed to the floor, unconscious.

Miranda looked at Liv worriedly, holding the remnants of the chair she’d broken over Orlando’s head. “You all right, Liv?”

“Oh my god!” Liv exclaimed, then ran for Royston, who took her into his arms immediately, holding her close.

Elijah looked up from the floor at the noise, trying to get his eyes to focus. He noticed the bits of wood lying around and tugged on Viggo’s pant leg.

“Stakes,” he mumbled. Wow it was hard to talk.

Viggo looked around at each person involved in turn. What the HELL had just happened?!

Miranda looked down at Orlando’s unconscious . “. “I didn’t kill him, did I?” she asked worriedly. “Though he almost deserves it for hurting Liv. What the hell was that all about?”

Viggo shook his head, then crouched down next to Elijah, to try to figure out what he was saying.

“Undead,” Elijah mumbled. “Stake. Quick. He’ll wake up.”

It would be nice if the room would stop spinning.

Orlando groaned, pushing himself up onto one elbow. What the hell was he doing on the f? A? And why did his head hurt?

“Fuck, what hit me?” he muttered.

Miranda cleared her throat, holding up what was left of the chair. “I did. What the hell is your problem, Orlando?”

He frowned, squinting up at her. What was his problem? She was the one going around hitting people with chairs!

He glanced around and noticed everyone was staring at him weirdly. He frowned. “What?”

Viggo tried to help Elijah to his feet, but the smaller man shoved away, crawled across the floor, and grabbed one of the pieces of wood, waving the point at Orlando.

“I’ll do it!” he threatened, despite a massive headache. “I swear to God!”

Royston quietly got Liv out of there. This was getting WAY too weird for him, and he was a musician!

Orlando recoiled back from the wood. “Elijah,” he said, frowning. “Don’t. Please.”

Shit, what had happened? He remembered dancing with Liv. . .and then waking up on the floor.

“Elijah!” Miranda said, her eyes widening. “My god, I know he attacked Liv, but don’t you think that’s a bit much?!”

Orlando whipped his head around, blinking at Miranda. He’d what? Oh god, he was having blackouts. Wasn’t that a bad sign?

“Maybe someone should call an ambulance,” Viggo suggested gently.

“No! I’m fine!” Elijah insisted wildly. “And he can’t go!”

>He >He jabbed the piece of broken chair at Orlando again.

Billy whistled lowly. Well, Elijah had finally snapped.

“Maybe we should take this into one of the back rooms,” Viggo suggested.

Orlando jerked back away from Elijah, hissing. Fuck! He was actually trying to kill him!

He nodded at Viggo. “Back room. Good idea.”

Miranda stared at Elijah wide-eyed. Good grief, what the hell was going on?!

‘Don’t ask,’ Viggo mouthed, then picked up Elijah and carried him to the back. The smaller man objected strenuously.

“Move it, Orlando!” Viggo barked.

“Okay, okay,” Orlando mumbled, rising to his feet and following Elijah and Viggo.

Jeez, he’d attacked Liv? What the hell was wrong with him?

And Elijah! Holy hell! He was fucking scared of the little guy now.

He stared suspiciously at Viggo’s back. Wait, wasn’t he on Elijah’s side? What if they got him back in the back room and tried to kill him?

“Damn it Viggo! Put me down!” Elijah exclaimed, wriggling in Viggo’s grasp as they entered one of the back rooms, a rectangular room with a pool table in the center.

“Shut the door, Orlando,” Viggo grumbled, then put Elijah on his feet. Then took away the makeshift stake.

“Hey!” Elijah exclaimed, then scrambled to grab a pool cue. It’d work in a pinch.

Shit, they were both armed. There was no way in hell Orlando was shutting the door!

“Not until he puts down the pool stick,” he said, pointing at Elijah. “And you put down the stake. I’m not gonna hurt you guys. I promise.”

“Stake?! It’s a chair leg!” Viggo exclaimed angrily, then headed over to slam the door shut.

“Your promises don’t mean much!” Elijah spat. Hmm, well, Orli hadn’t actually promised him anything. . .but it had been implied!

Orlando looked pained. “Elijah, I’m sorry,” he said. “I don’t know what came over me. I don’t even remember what happened out there.”

He gestured toward the door, then looking at Elijah with pleading eyes. “I remember dancing with Liv and then waking up on the floor. Please, Lij, help me. I’m scared.”

“Don’t,” Viggo growled at him menacingly.

“It’s okay,” Elijah said, his normally trusting eyes hard. “Let me remind you, Orli. I’m assuming you remember what happened in the limo? Well, it looked like you were trying a repeat performance with Liv, and it took all of, what, ten seconds?”

He shook his head and threw the pool cue across the room. “God, how could I have been so STUPID!”

Orlando flinched. He’d never seen Elijah so angry. It was frightening. Even more frightening than an angry Viggo. And THAT was pretty damn scary.

“Please, Elijah, you have to believe me,” he said. “I’m so sorry.”

“Yeah, you’re sorry Miranda hit you with a chair,” Elijah grumbled.

“Where’d the marks on your neck come from, Orlando?” Viggo asked.

“I TOLD you!” Elijah exclaimed. “A VAMPIRE!”

Orlando sighed, his shoulders slumping forward. “The night before the premiere in Wellington, this woman came to me in my hotel room,” he said softly. “I thought it was a dream. We. . .um. . .had sex and she bit me.”

He glanced at Elijah quickly, then licked his lips, looking back at Viggo. “She came back last night and bit me again, only this time she had me drink her blood. That’s when Elijah came into the room and I yelled at him.”

He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. “I didn’t think vampires existed, but I don’t know how else to explain what’s happened to me. I mean, I’m craving blood. I can’t stand the sunlight.”

He glanced at Elijah again. He was sorry Miranda hit him with a chair, but he was sorrier that he’d hurt Elijah.

“Did you really bite Elijah?” Viggo asked, not sure he wanted to know. Gay he could handle. Biting was a bit much.

Orlando nodded. “Among other things.”

And he’d probably fucked up that relationship and would never get another chance to pursue it. God, he wished he’d never met Vanessa.

“Yeah, but it’s probably the only thing that meant anything to you!” Elijah sna, ob, obviously hurt.

“Elijah, shhh, I’m trying to figure out what’s going on,” Viggo said gently.

“I TOLD you what’s going on!” Elijah exclaimed.

“Yes, but I believe you now!” Viggo admitted.

Orlando waved his hands frantically. “Okay, so can we please figure out a way to reverse this?!” he said. “I’d like to live a normal life again!”

Not to mention he reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally needed to apologize to Liv. God, how could he ever face her again?

“Well, if you go based on the classic stories, you have to hunt down the vampire that did this to you and kill it,” Viggo said. Was he REALLY having this conversation?

He looked over sharply as he heard a noise on the other side of the door. Oh no. Please don’t let life be imitating art.

Orlando jumped, glancing at the door. Shit, what was that?

He glanced back at Viggo, scowling. “And how the hell am I supposed to do that? She’s all the way back in New Zealand and all I know about her is that her name is Vanessa.”

He snorted. “If she was even telling the truth.”

He cast another glance at the door, then hesitantly crossed over to it and jerked it open.

Of course, Dom and Billy came tumbling into the room. Elijah’s eyes widened and he tried to hide behind the pool table. Viggo just looked down at the pair disapprovingly.

“We were worried about Lij,” Billy insisted weakly.

Orlando sighed. Great, so he was the bad guy now.

Though he guessed he deserved to be. . .

“So I guess you guys heard what was said,” he said softly.

“Yeah,” Dom said as he picked himself up. “You’re a slut!”

“I am not!” Orlando insisted, looking offended. Fuck! Some Lady Dracula was trying to turn him into an undead! He was a victim!

“Slut!” Dom insisted. Billy couldn’t help but grin.

Elijah shrank down even further behind the pool table. This was SO embarrassing.

“You’re one to talk, Dom,” Orlando growled. “If you’re not gonna help me, then fine, I’ll do it myself.”

He stalked toward the door, intent of getting the hell out of there.

“Where are you going?” Viggo asked pointedly.

Elijah peeked out over the pool table. Was Orli leaving?

“Oh! There’s Lij! He’s alive!” Billy exclaimeavinaving.

Elijah groaned and slid down onto the floor.

“Back to New Zealand,” Orlando snapped. “I’ll find Vanessa somehow. Fuck, she’ll probably find me.”

“Alone?” Viggo asked, closing the door again. “When you can barely go out during the day? When your symptoms are only going to get worse?”

Elijah got to his feet, swallowing his embarrassment.

“Even Frodo had Sam, Orli,” he said weakly. “And he tried to run away too.”

Dom and Billy looked at each other. They’d been. . .and they. . .just like. . .oh crap.

Orlando sighed, leaning his forehead against the door. “No, Elijah,” he said softly. “I appreciate it, but you don’t have to come with me. I’ve already hurt you more than I ever intended to.”

He closed his eyes, knowing Viggo was right. Damn it. He didn’t want to hurt Elijah anymore than he already had, and he was afraid that was what would happen if he came with him. Because he was physically attracted to Elijah. And because he was obsessed with Liv.

There. He’d admit it. He was obsessed with her.

“Fuck you, Orli. Don’t steal my dialogue,” Elijah said, then grinned ever so slightly.

Viggo, Dom and Billy looked at him in surprise, not sure they were allowed to laugh.

Orlando raised his head, glancing at Elijah. He smiled slightly, chuckling. “Sorry,” he said softly. “Okay, so it’s off to New Zealand for Orli and Lij.”

He rubbed the back of his neck, suddenly feeling incredibly weary. “Liv will probably never speak to me again,” he muttered.

Which might be for the best. Then he could analyze his feelings for Elijah.

“I’ll talk to her,” Viggo said.

“You’re not coming?” Elijah asked, looking surprised.

“You guys are on your own this time,” Viggo said with a hint of a smile.

“Fuck that! We’re going too!” Dom exclaimed.

“Yeah! No WAY we’re getting left out of this!” Billy agreed.

Orlando smiled gratefully at Viggo. “Thanks.”

He glanced at Dom and Billy, chuckling. “Four hobbits and an elf on a mission to kill a vampire. This should be interesting.”

“I’ll leave you to this,” Viggo said, then slipped out of the room. “Oh, by the way, it’s three hobbits and an elf.”

He closed the door.

“I’m not a hobbit,” Elijah said with a shrug. “I’m just Lij.”

Orlando shrugged sheepishly. Oops, he’d miscounted.

“Wait, what about the London and Berlin premieres?” he asked, frowning. He had no idea how long it was going to take them to find Vanessa. . .

“HelLO! Priorities!” Billy exclaimed.

Orlando blushed. “Okay, okay, so now what?”

He unconsciously glanced at Lij, for some reason expecting him to fill tole ole of leader.

“We get some sleep, and get on a plane tomorrow,” Elijah said, then looked thoughtful for a moment. “I’ll try to get an evening flight.”

“Wow, this is just like a movie!” Dom marveled.

“Yeah, but Orli’s way hotter than Winona Ryder,” Billy said with a grin.

“Hey yeah. Did you fuck Johnny Depp too?” Dom asked.

“Guys,” Lij said, blushing.

“No!” Orlando said, his blush deepening. “Johnny has a girlfriend and kids!”

“Liv’s married,” Dom pointed out.

Elijah looked around the room. Oh look! A ceiling!

Wow, he just had ‘chump’ written on his forehead, didn’t he?

Orlando winced. Ouch, Dom had a point.

“Um, can we just forget that happened?” he muttered. “I wasn’t in my right mind.”

He was so never going to live that down. It would haunt him forever.

The room got really quiet as Dom and Billy looked between Elijah and Orlando. Both of them were thinking the same thing, but neither of them was a big enough jerk to ask.

“Well, sleep sounds good,” Billy exclaimed, then bolted for the door.

“Don’t you leave me here!” Dom protested, quickly following after him.

Orlando stared awkwardly at Elijah, shifting his weight. “Um, I think Billy and Dom have the right idea,” he said softly.

He hesitated a moment, then licked his lips nervously. “I know you probably won’t believe me, Elijah, but what happened in the limo wasn’t just me feeding off you. It was. . .more. And I truly am sorry. I. . .I’m just confused right now. And I know, that’s not a good excuse, but. . .”

He trailed off, shrugging helplessly. “I just wanted to say I’m sorry.” Again. He had a feeling he was going to be saying that a lot.

For a moment, Elijah looked like he was going to cry. He blinked rapidly, and regained his composure.

“I don’t regret it,” he said, his eyes flicking up to look Orlando in the eye from across roomroom. “Whatever happens, however much it hurts, I don’t regret it.”

Orlando smiled, nodding. “Neither do I.”

He cleared his throat, looking away for a moment. He didn’t think he could take it if Elijah started crying. He’d be across the room and holding him in his arms as soon as the first tear fell. And judging by what had happened in the limo, that could be bad. He didn’t need to pull on Elijah’s heartstrings anymore until he got his own feelings worked out in his head.

“You, uh, might want to give me a wake-up call tomorrow,” he said. “I seem to be having trouble getting up on time.”

“Like I said, I’ll try to get a late flight,” Elijah responded. “I’ll call you when you need to be up though. Where are you staying?”

“Um, well, I had planned to stay with Kate,” Orlando said. “But, uh, we broke up and I never got around to making reservations somewhere.”

“You dork, the studio would’ve gotten you something,” Elijah said, rolling his eyes. “I’m at the Chateau Marmont. . .”

He paused, realizing what he was about to say next was realllllly stupid.

“The couch pulls out,” he said with a shrug.

What the hell was he doing?

Orlando looked at Elijah with surprise, then smiled slightly. “Thanks Lij. I appreciate it.”

And damn it, he would behave. He would stay on the couch, no matter how tempted he was to pick up where they’d left off in the limo.

Elijah shrugged in response.

“What are friends for?” he asked rhetorically.
