Chapter 7.

Enelya could only stare at Legolas,her emotions drifting back and forth between anger, hatred and guilt. She hated Legolas, hated him for doing this. She did not want to remember how she had once felt for him or how he felt.
She hated herself for not realizing it was him. She should have known the instant he touched her. The sound of his voice should of warned her.
It was the guilt that brought tears to her eyes when she realized that part of her had known it was him. Her mind had denied the truth but her body had known. The familiar feeling of his hands, the soft gentle kisses upon her skin.
"Mankoi?" (Why?) Enelya finally allowed her eyes to meet with his.
" Is it not my right?" Legolas replied calmly. " Did you not once promise that you would be mine whenever I wanted?" Enelya used all her strength and will power not to reach over and slap him.
"Perhaps you have this memory confused with that of another" Enelya glared at him. " Perhaps it was Nessa who had spoke this promise, one of many empty words she used to lure you into her bed." She knew by the look in his eyes that she had brought up the wrong subject.
"Nessa meaothiothing." The harsh tone his voice had taken was unmistakable. He was angered
" If that were true then she would not have succeeded." Enelya turned away from him. She did not wish for him to see how hurt she had been.
It had taken a lot to get over that pain, to get past it. Only when she had left Lorien to return to Imladris did she begin to heal. Being surrounded by friends and family had helped her.
" I will not discuss Nessa." Legolas lowered his voice to an almost whisper. He had been plagued with guilt for what he had done. For what he had allowed to happen. Not only had he allowed himself to believe Nessa's lies but he had allowed Enelya to get hurt in the process. His feelings for Enleya were true, only he had realized it to late.

"This will not happen again" Enelya still had not turned to face him.
"We can not stop what is meant to be." She heard him moving and part of her wanted to run. To keep him at a distance yet she did not move. All she could do was close her eyes as she felt his arms around her.
" We were not meant to be." She whispered softly yet let herself be pulled back to lean against him.
"we both know you do not believe that." His voice soft in her ear. " would I be here if you did?"
"I did not invite you." She shivered as he softly touched her arm, slowly bringing his hand upwards to her neck.
"Nor did you send me away." She wanted to deny it, to tell him he was wrong but she was no longer certain that he was. " I have made a mistake with Nessa as you have with the twins...."
Legolas stopped when she had suddenly pulled away and turned to face him. Her face now unreadable of any emotion.
" I made no mistake, I was not involved with you when I met them" She stated.
" Is it not a mistake to get involved with someone when you still have feelings for another?" Legolas again stepped towards her. This time Enelya ba awa away
"I no longer have feelings for you." Enelya could see he did not believe that. She was not even sure if she believed it.
" With words you say one thing yet your actions last night say different" Another step towards her had her backed against with him standing before her.
" Last night would not have happened had it not been for the wine" She replied with little certainty. She could not meet his eyes.
"Look at me Enelya" H reached over and tilted her head to look towards him. " Part of you knew it was I, I fele fae familiar way you melted into me like many times before."
"Tampa." ( Stop) Enelya pushed his hand away. " You hurt me once and I will not give you the chance to do it again. It it yot you I am meant to be with." The sudden conviction in her voice surprised them both.
" If not I then who?" She could see his anger building, His eyes darkened. "Elrohir? Elladan perhaps? They use maidens even more then I. What makes you think either one of them would change for you?" En's h's hand reached out but he caught it before it made contact. He tightened his grip on her wrist and pulled her towards him.
" You no nothing of my relationship with Elladan" Enelya out of anger had given him the information he had wanted.
" So it is Elladan" His smile only angered her even more. " Do you honestly believe he will care for you more then I?"Enelya's reply was silenced as his mouth captured hers. His tongue quick to slip between her parted lips. His grip on her tightened as she tried to pull away.

Enelya whimpered as he deepened the kiss. She felt herself begin to surrender to him, to melt into the feel of him. The feeling she believed dead beginning to again surface.
"No" She finally managed to pull away. She blinked back the tears that had begun to well up. "You no longer have the right." She turned away once more and left the room. She knew he would follow her but needed to put some space between them.
"Enelya" She stopped just before stepping outside. She turned her head slightly but did not turn to face him.
"Mani?" (What?) Her voice void of any and all emotions. The decision made tt alt allow herself to feel for him again.
" Answer me one thing." Legolas watched her carefully as he spoke. " Can you honestly tell me you love him?" Legolas knew she had not been expecting the question. He watched as she opened her mouth to answer him but still remained silent. There eyes met briefly before she turned and ran from him.

Enelya ran right into Haldir who had to reach out and grab her arms to keep her from falling. She did not look up to meet his eyes. She did not wish for him to see the tears in her eyes.
" Mani marte?"(What happened?) He had tilted herd upd up to face him and seen her tears.
" Haldir I..." Her words faded as they both sensed someone approaching. Enelya tensed when Legolas came into view.
Haldir turned his attention back to Enelya only to see her run off again. Legolas moved to follow but Haldir had grabbed his arm and stopped him.
" you hurt her once" Haldir's voice calm" You will not hurt her again." Haldir let go of Legolas' arm. but neither on the them moved. They stood staring at one another in silence before Haldir turned to find Enelya.
" That will be your only warning Prince." Haldir added as his final comment.
Legolas watched as Haldir walked away. He turned and headed in a different direction before adding his own parting comment

"Stay out of my way Marchwarden"
