Dom's Reunion
Chapter 61
Heather was standing at the drinking fountain waiting for us. We'd decided to meet there, so that Dom and Elijah could drink from it and get luck. "Hey girl!" Heather called.
"Hey!" We did this massive hug before she turned her attention to the little girl in the stroller. "Oh my gosh!" She cried. "She's adorable." She hugged Elijah, "Great to see you again."
"You too!" He smiled and motioned to Dom. "You remember your goofy wedding partner Dom."
"Of course," She laughed, "How can you forget a guy like him?" She gave him a hug. Over her shoulder we saw Dom waggle his eyebrows, and give Elijah and me a thumbs up.
"So.." I laughed, "Where to eat?"
"Hmm...." She thought...
"What if we went to California Pizza Kitchen?"
"Hey...college kid remember?" She laughed.
"That's no problem darlin'! Your lunch is on me." Dom wrapped an arm around her shoulders and winked, causing her to blush.
"Well kids are we ready?" Elijah asked.
"Yes, I'm hungry." Dom grumbled.
"You're always hungry hon." I laughed.
"So?" He laughed and pulled out a few stray fruit loops out of his pocket. We all walked back to Franklin St. so that we could get our car and drive to The Streets of Southpoint, where the Pizza Kitchen waited for us. Heather sat in the back with Dom and Jordie, I could hear them talking back and forth...laughing at what the baby was doing.
Traffic was horrendous, and I used all of my city driving skills to get us there in one piece. When we pulled into the parking lot I struggled to find a spot. Southpoint parking was horrible, and we ended up pretty far back. We finally got up to the doors, and were glad when we got into the air conditioning. Even though it was November, North Carolina seemed to be having a hot fall. "Table for four." I said
"Of course." She led us to a table and we all sat down. Jordan got her own little high chair, Dom and Heather sat next to each other in the booth, with 'Lij and me on the other side. We decided to split two pizza's and chose a white pizza for one, and a Sicilian style pizza for the other. We got bread as an appetizer, and I had to teach Elijah how to eat it the Italian way. Dipped in extra virgin olive oil that had been sprinkled with black pepper. Both Dom and Heather, being pros already were feeding each other the bread. Dom dotted her nose with the oil and laughed when she stuck her tongue out at him.
