Chapter Six

Dom and Billy decided to do a little shopping one Sunday afternoon. They went to a mall in Glendale and shopped for hours.

In one of the stores, Billy was trying out some jeans.

“Pick a bloody pair already!”

“Patience! Patience! I like to dress in style.”

“You’re going to get tickled if you don’t hurry.”

“Okay, okay!”

Dom was sitting outside the fitting rooms waiting for Billy to come out. He checked his watch; it had been 5 minutes since Billy went inside. Come on Billy, don’t let me wait long; I can’t stand not looking at you.

Billy got out wearing a pair of dark blue jeans. He walked over to Dom.

“Well? What do you think?” he did a little spin.

“Turn around again.”

Billy did another spin. I love how your ass looks in those pants, hoo!

“Well?”

“I don’t know Bills. Your ass doesn’t look as good as the last pair,” he grinned.

Billy snorted, “You cheeky bastard.”

Dom giggled.

Billy and Dom loved to take long walks to wherever they went. In the end, they didn’t go to the movies but they walked and talked all night.

“When I was a lad growing up in Germany, we used to speak in English when we were home and German outside home.”

“Well yes that makes sense.”

“I loved my childhood. I made such great friends and that is probably the one thing that I regret leaving Germany. I sometimes think about them, I wonder what they’re doing, if they’re still alive or whatever.”

“I’m sorry about that Dom.”

“Oh no, don’t worry about it.”

“You have me as a friend now,” Billy offered.

“That’s right and you have no idea how happy that makes me.”

“Dom… that… oh Dom,” Billy hugged him.

Dom returned Billy’s hug. He felt like crying but he did everything to no let a tear fall. I don’t want him to see me weak.

“Let’s call Elijah and terrorize him!” he said enthusiastically.

“Alright,” Billy laughed.

“Hello?”

“Hi, honey bunny!”

“Dom!” Billy laughed.

“What are you doing?”

“Absolutely nothing, nothing at all, what about you?”

“Nothing, that’s why I’m calling you.”

“Am I the reason for you to get bored, Dominic?”

“Absolutely not!” he paused, “Can I come?”

“Do you know what time is it?”

“Uh… 10:30 p.m.?”

“Yeah.”

“Right… can I come?”

“Okay you silly, come over,” Billy laughed.

One afternoon, Billy, Dom and Elijah went to drink coffee at a cute coffee shop that Dom discovered a few weeks back.

“Ugh, I gotta take a piss, shit, be right back,” muttered Elijah, stood up and went to the bathroom leaving Billy and Dom alone.

“You know, I know for a fact that Elijah piss in toilets,” Dom said with an evil look.

Billy giggled, “What are you suggesting?”

“Let’s go terrorize the bouncing monkey!” Dom’s eyes sparkled.

Billy enthusiastically said, “Fun! Fun! Love to play terrorism on the bouncing monkey!”

They walked to the bathroom and thankfully no one was inside but Elijah. They opened the door as slowly as possible… Elijah was nowhere around. They heard someone urinating and soft moans.

“Oooooh yeeeeeeaaaaahhhhhh… ooooh God that feeeeeeeelssss gooooooooood, ooooh yesssssssss.”

Dom and Billy looked at each other and tried their best to hide their laughter. They held each other and hid their laughter in each other’s shoulder.

As soon as they were controlled, Elijah’s moans were still far from over. Dom motioned Billy to come closer, since he found the stall Elijah was using. He silently told Billy to be quiet, counted to three with his fingers and before Billy knew it, Dom banged crazily the metallic door with his two fists for five seconds and him and Billy ran out of the bathroom listening to Elijah’s shrieks of horror.

They sat on their table laughing hard.

“Oh my God Dom! That was unexpected!” Billy panted.

“I know! But it was great!”

“Bouncing monkey’s going to have a heart attack!”

“Shh! He’s coming!” Dom hissed.

They saw a very pale-looking Elijah approach the table and sat down.

“Doodle what’s wrong?” Dom kindly asked.

“Some fucker scared the shit out of me in the bathroom,” he seriously said.

“What do you mean?” asked Billy.

“Someone banged on my stall like a maniac and ran away… couldn’t tell who the fuck it was. Did you guys see someone leave the bathroom?”

“Not really, I’m sorry, Elijah,” Dom said.

Elijah murmured something. Billy and Dom looked at each other and shared a secret evil smile.

That night, Billy and Dom walked around a park they both discovered one day. They were laughing, remembering Elijah’s tragedy.

Billy and Dom were lying on their backs in the apartment roof. They brought a blanket and beers, and they were watching the stars.

“Bill?”

“Hmm?”

“Before coming here, what did you do?” Dom asked very gently.

Billy had to think for a minute, “I was acting crazy, doing things that I’m not supposed to do. My father was always telling me so, I felt so lost. I guess I needed to get away.”

Dom turned to face him, “I’m glad you got away, Bill.”

“What do you mean?”

“If you haven’t gotten away, you wouldn’t be here talking to me.”

Billy smiled gently, “Ah, Dommie, you sure know your way with words.”

Dom smiled back, “I just tell what I feel.”

“Don’t ever stop.”

This would always happen. After one said something nice to other, they would look into each other’s eyes for a while.

I feel like I’m falling in love with him all over again every time I see him, Billy thought. No one says the things he says to me.

These things that I tell him, they all mean ‘I love you’. I wish I could tell him that I love him, thought Dom.

They broke eye contact at the same time and watched the sky together, shoulders touching.
