~Chapter Six: Wicked explanation~
“I’tehta en’Gorthaur!!!!!”
Rumil shivered at the words and looked at his brothers, “What do they mean?”
Elrohir moved from where he had been standing with his lovers, approaching the bed where Glorfindel was put down, demanding to know what was going on. Angaráto, the healing-chief turned to him, “Lord Elrohir, lord Glorfindel bears the mark of Gorthaur…We have reason to believe from the series of events we’ve been made aware of, that lord Glorfindel has somehow came to be under the evil power we all have known”
Elrohir looked at the Balrog-slayer, “Is it possible this has been a force in his life for a long while?”
Angaráto nodded his head, “Yes, this is indeed a possibility we need to consider young lord”
Elrohir nodded and looked somewhat fearfully at the healer, “Will ada be able to cure him?”
Angaráto looked doubtful for a moment or two, “We can only hope so, now please, you and your friends need to leave us to our work so that we may do the best for him. We shall inform you of how it went.”
Elrohir nodded again and moved back to the others, “We need to leave so that they can do their work on Glorfindel, they believe he is under the power of the dark lord…”
Orophin looked at the others, “Perhaps we can have that talk in the meantime, there’s not much else we will be doing while they work on him”
Erestor was reluctant to leave but knew that he should stick with Orophin in what he was about to do, it was hard on the young marchwarden, that was easy to see so with that he took Orophin’s hand, “We will use my study”
Rumil tried to get up, but was stopped by Haldir who lifted him up in his arms, “I’ll carry you, you shouldn’t be walking already…You’re still very weak”
Elladan, Elrohir and Legolas slowly followed the others, still uncertain of what happened to make this change in Orophin and praying that Glorfindel could be helped still.
Entering Erestor’s study they were provided by a small problem considering the number of people and the number of chairs. Haldir sat down with Rumil on his lap, cradling him almost like a baby which caused the twins to grin widely. Legolas pushed Elladan down on a chair, crawled unto his lap and now tried to figure out how to fit Elrohir on it as well. Due to situation that was nearly impossible so Elrohir decided to take a cushion and sit down before his lovers on the floor.
Orophin looked at Erestor and sat down, pulling the counsellor unto his lap before looking at each of the ones there, “I owe you all an apology”
Elrond sprinted down the halls followed by Celeborn, both having discarded their robes on the way to gain more speed as they moved to Glorfindel, Elrond was the first to speak, “Mellon, how could this have happened to you? Don’t worry, we will take care of you. You’ll be your former self again before you know it”
The healers worked meanwhile on putting restraints on the Balrog-slayer so that his feet and hands were connected to the bad like his midsection.
Elrond looked at the healers around him, “How could we not have noticed for so long?” but the healers seemed equally disturbed by that, informing lord Elrond that they knew as little as he.
Celeborn looked at Elrond, putting a hand on his shoulder and softly squeezing it, “We’ll clear his soul of the evil that resides in him, we will do so with the strength of the Valar invested in us. He will be who he was. A friend to all”
Elrond placed his hands upon the mark of the Dark lord, despite actually wishing not to do so, chanting a soft spell to force the evil out while praying for it to work.
Celeborn joined the other lord in chant, followed by the healers.
Glorfindel regained consciousness and began pulling against the restraints when he heard what the chance was, “No! Glorfindel’s LOST to you. Destroy me and you KILL us both!”
Celeborn shook his head, pressing his fingers to Glorfindel’s head using his telepathic powers to see into the closed mind, “No we will not, Glorfindel is in here and struggling to get out…We’ll help him with that”
The evil trapped in Glorfindel shot up against the bonds, “NO! You will FAIL!”
Celeborn just smiled, “I think not, but let us see” Elrond stared at the body of his friend, the voice he did not even recognize. He knew now that his friend was not in control over his body, captured by this pure evil within his own body.
"Elrond…Make him stop…It hurts so much…please my friend don’t let lord Celeborn continue this…It hurts”
Celeborn looked at Elrond, “Do not listen, it is a lie” The Rivendell Lord nodded his head and remained chanting, ignoring the voice of his friend as well as he could, trying to pay no attention to the curses that now came from him.
Celeborn could see his son in law trembling, obviously upset by seeing his friend this way, but he knew that this must be done, before it would be impossible to bring the Golden Flower back.
The mark on Glorfindel’s body began to glow softly, a soft red colour. As the chanting went on this glow expanded, growing lighter in colour as well until it was colourless: white.
