Chapter 5: Taken
Kuellen looked past the sword pointed between his eyes to see the owner of the weapon: a human. Looking around, he saw four other humans surrounding him, one of them holding a struggling Legolas by the waist.
“What do you want?” Kuellen demanded.
The man looked at him with amusement. “Nothing in particular,” the bearded, dark haired man answered. He then turned to look at Legolas, who looked back at him with fearful eyes. “Although now that I have found something I have always wanted, this is my lucky day.”
“Don’t you dare!” Kuellen spat. “Don’t you dare to even look at her!”
“And what, elf, will you do if I do?” the man asked, looking back at Kuellen. He laughed. Turning to Legolas, he stepped forward and caressed Legolas’s soft face with the back of his hand and fingers. Legolas jerked away, disgusted. “You know, my princess,” the man continued. “You are even more beautiful than what I have heard. It is a wonder that the gods could make a beautiful thing as yourself. The other men are right: you are priceless. But I have never dreamed that you would be like this.” He moved to caress her cheek again, but Legolas lashed out, swinging her fist in an attempt to hit him in the jaw, but he ducked. This only amused the man even more. “A feisty one, aren’t we?”
“Don’t touch her!” Kuellen yelled.
The man rolled his eyes in annoyance. “You are in no position to tell me what to do,” he stated as-a-matter-of-factly. He smiled at Legolas. “Come, my dear. Let us go now. I am sure you will learn to enjoy our company soon enough.”
Legolas’s eyes widened in fear.
The man turned to the others. “Dispose of this one,” he said, gesturing towards Kuellen. He removed his foot from Kuellen’s chest and stood up as two other men moved forward and grabbed Kuellen’s arms, pulling him to his feet.
“No!” Legolas struggled as she was being dragged away. “Don’t hurt him, please! Kuellen!” she screamed. “Let me go, you freakin’ A’s! Kuellen!!”
Kuellen kicked out and struck the man on his right in the ribs. As the man doubled over, Kuellen’s arm was free, and he struck the other man with his fist. Knowing that he was outnumbered, he decided that the best course of action was to flee and warn his family. He mounted his horse and started galloping away, retracing the road he had taken from the castle.
Seething, the leader of the men drew out his own bow and arrow. He notched the arrow, pulled it back, and let it fly. The arrow sailed through the trees and struck Kuellen on the shoulder blade. Kuellen gasped in pain but kept on going. He had to get back to the castle of Mirkwood. Legolas’s life depended on it.
The man sighed as Kuellen disappeared out of sight before he could fire another arrow. “No matter,” he muttered as he put his bow and arrow away. He turned to Legolas, who was staring daggers at him.
“How can you do something like this?” she hissed.
The man smiled. “You don’t know how long I have been waiting to have you,” he said. “I have constantly heard rumors about you and your beauty. And I am not going to let this chance slip away.”

The guard squinted as he saw a lone rider galloping at full speed towards him. He recognized the horse as an elven horse, but he did not quite recognize its rider. As the figure drew closer, the guard saw the long, silver blond hair. When the figure looked up, the guard gasped as he saw Kuellen slumped over the horse’s back, his face contorted with pain and sweat dribbling down the sides of his pale face.
When the horse came to a stop in front of the castle gates, Kuellen slid off of the horse and onto the ground, the pain of the arrow wound overwhelming him. He gritted his teeth in pain as the guard rushed over to him. Blackness started to outline his vision as he stared up at the guard.
“N-Na-Naraden,” Kuellen gasped. “Take m-me to him!”
He watched as the guard’s face disappeared, replaced by darkness.

For a side note, “freakin’ A’s” is supposed to mean “freakin’ assholes” or fuckin’s assholes.” I just didn’t want to write out “asshole,” and I just thought it sounded pretty funny when said out loud.
