Chapter Six

Disclaimer: Nope, we don’t own them. Wish we did. This never happened (well, to the best of our knowledge), it’s just a figment of our twisted little imaginations. And we do hope that you enjoy it. :-D

The premiere in LA was a more subdued, dressed up affair, with fewer fans and more media, but it was still an exciting environment. Flashbulbs popped as the assembly line of limousines dropped off passengers at the red carpet.

“Quit squirming. You look good,” Elijah whispered as the car he was sharing with Orlando approached the drop off point. He was still amazed he’d gotten him into a suit, and his hair didn’t resemble dryer lint.

“I still don’t know how I let you talk me into wearing a suit,” Orlando complained, tugging uncomfortably at his tie.

He hated wearing suits. But Elijah had said he looked good, so he guessed he did.

He grinned, glancing at Elijah. “Did you bring tissues this time?” he teased.

“Ha. I’m not as nervous this time,” Elijah responded flatly, watching the crowd through the window. “How’re you feeling? Still have those cravings?”

Orlando made a face. He’d been trying not to think about it, but now that Elijah had mentioned it. . .

“Yes,” he said, nodding. “Unfortunately. I’m trying to ignore them.”

Elijah was going to respond, but a security guard opened up one of the limo’s doors. The red carpet awaited.

“Stay away from Liv,” he warned, then got out of the car. He was immediately set upon by reporters: there was a reason they called it ‘the gauntlet.’

Orlando scowled, rog hig his eyes. “Yeah, yeah,” he muttered under his breath. “I’ll leave Liv alone.”

He took a deep breath, wiping the scowl off his face and replacing it with a smile. He got out of the car and found himself surrounded by reporters.

The flashbulbs irritated his eyes more than usual, but he continued to smile as he followed Elijah.

Unfortunately, the photographers had other ideas, and corralled Orlando next to Liv for photos right outside the theater.

“Hey! Look at you!” Liv exclaimed, looking him over. “Oh, you remember Roy, right?”

She glanced over at her husband, who was standing just out of camera range.

Elijah looked over, distracted from the interview he was doing. Oh crap.

Orlando smiled brightly at Liv. “Hi! You like?” He made a show of modeling his suit for her. “Don’t ask me how Lij did it, but he talked me into a suit.”

His smile faded a little as he coolly nodded at Roy. Yes, he remembered him. How could he forget Liv’s husband?

“You look beautiful, as always,” he said to Liv.

“You look great too!” Liv exclaimed, then took his arm for the sake of the photos. Yes, they were both elves, wasn’t that cute?

Roy seemed equally cool with Orlando, for obvious reasons. He was tall. Bastard.

Orlando leaned close to Liv, pressing his cheek to hers. For the sake of the photos, of course.

Though getting so close to her might have been a bad idea. He could feel her warmth. Unconsciously, he matched his breathing to her pulse, his cravings increasing.

He blinked, pulling away from her before he did something he’d regret.

“Come on, Orlando, just one more like that!” a photographer called out, waving him back toward her.

Liv waved at Elijah as he approached, but he was hijacked by another TV crew and was further delayed. Everyone wanted a piece of Frodo tonight, it seemed.

Orlando shook his head. No, not a good idea. He was not getting that close to Liv again. No way.

He silently cursed as Elijah was delayed again. Help! Frodo, save me! he thought.

Liv’s eyes narrowed curiously.

“What’s wrong?” she whispered.

“Nothing,” he whispered, smiling uneasily. “I just. . .Elijah was complaining earlier about me being cold again and I didn’t want to make you uncomfortable.”

“Okay, now you’ve warned me,” she said with a nod. “You’re just doing your job. You turning into one of those anemic vegans or something?”

Orlando chuckled nervously. “I’m a vegetarian, remember? I still eat dairy and eggs and stuff, just not meat.”

He licked his lips, sighing. Okay, she insisted. He could keep control over himself. He had plenty of self-control.

He leaned close to her again, smiling at the photographers. See, weren’t they the cutest couple ever?

“That’s great! Hold it right there!” a photographer called out. Cameras started snapping.

Elijah hurried over, looking concerned. A moment later, the cameras turned on him with a flashbulb assault. Whoa. He was blind now.

Liv pulled away from Orlando, patting his arm.

“See? Was that so bad?” she asked with a grin. “See you inside.” She headed off to rejoin her husband.

Orlando breathed a sigh of relief as Liv finally pulled away. Fuck, he’d almost lost it there for a moment.

“Yeah, see ya,” he said as he watched her walk over to her husband. Grrrrrr, he wanted her so much. He could have her. It wouldn’t be too hard to get rid of her husband.

He blinked. Fuck, that wasn’t a good thought. He didn’t want to kill anybody. Honest.

Elijah nudged his arm as he passed by him on the way inside, but didn’t say anything. It wasn’t the place, especially being surrounded by reporters.

Orlando shook his head, then smiled at the reporters and followed Elijah inside. God, they had to do something about his problem quick or he was going to go nuts.

Maybe he could find a fan to snack on. . . A little bit wouldn’t hurt, right?

After they sat through yet another three-and-a-half-hour long screening, and Elijah had practically tied Orlando to his seat to stop him from trying to sneak out of the theater, the cast assembled in the lobby, waiting to find out if they were required to attend some sort of after party. Elijah was walking around in a bit of a trance: no, he hadn’t minded hanging onto Orli’s arm to stop him from going anywhere for two hours at ALL!

Orlando licked his lips, swallowing nervously as he cast a glance around the lobby. Fuck, the cravings were getting worse. He needed to do something before he went mad.

He saw Elijah was distracted. Good. He wouldn’t have minded Elijah hanging onto his arm so much during the movie if he hadn’t been craving blood so badly. It had been torturous sitting next to Elijah. Thankfully he’d managed to control himself.

He glanced around, looking for somebody he could talk to, anything to get his mind off the cravings.

“Alright, here’s the directions and invitations to the premiere party,” a New Line representative announced. A few audible groans could be heard: people were pretty tired.

“Just make an appearance,” the rep insisted.

Elijah looked up at that. Great. Orli had to go to a PARTY now?! Now was he supposed to keep track of him THERE?!

Wait, when had he become Orli’s self-appointed baby-sitter? Oh, right, when it gave him permission to hang off of him like a drunken playboy playmate.

He had problems.

Orlando cursed under his breath. A fucking party? How the hell was he supposed to control himself at a party?

Fuck, where was Elijah? Maybe he could convince him to let him take the edge off his craving.

He snorted. Yeah, right. But it was worth a shot, wasn't it?

He spotted Elijah in the crowd and began weaving his way over to him. “Help,” he whispered as he appeared behind Elijah.

“What’s wrong?” Elijah asked, spinning around to face him, a little startled. God, he’d just come out of nowhere.

Sigh. . .he was so dreamy. . .

Had he just thought the word ‘dreamy’? Okay, now this whole thing was just getting weird. He had to stop reading so much slash fiction.

“The cravings are getting worse,” Orlando said, licking his lips. “I don’t know how much more I can take of this.”

“Shhh!” Elijah whispered, looking around furtively. “Not here. Come on, we’ll talk in the car.”

He tugged on Orlando’s sleeve, coaxing him toward the door.

“Okay,” Orlando said, letting Elijah lead him around by his sleeve. Heh, that was kinda cool.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey, since when had Elijah had such a cute butt?

He blinked, shaking his head. Had he just thought Elijah’s butt was cute?

Elijah grabbed a pair of invitations to the party, then pulled Orlando out a back door which led out into the parking lot. He pulled out his cell phone and dialed the driver that had transported them there.

“Fifteen minutes. He has to loop around,” he announced after he hung up. He looked around the “T “There doesn’t seem to be anyone else around though, so I guess we can talk.”

Orlando licked his lips, moving closer to Elijah. “I don’t know what to do, Lij,” he said, his breath coming out in soft gasps as he felt Elijah’s pulse calling to him. “The cravings. . .they’re stronger.”

Now he understood why Vanessa had said she needed him.

“Oh God Orli, is there anything I can do?” Elijah asked, looking pained. The expression quickly became puzzled though: was Orli breathing hard?

“Yes, actually, there is,” Orlando said, still gasping breathlessly as he reached up to caress Elijah’s cheek. He echoed Vanessa’s words from the night before. “I need you.”

He softly kissed Elijah’s neck, right at his pulse point.

“Wh-what?” Elijah stammered, his eyes closing a little and his breathing quickening. He needed him? How long had he waited to hear something like that? But. . .

He winced as he tried to fight the urges calling to him, tempting him to just stop thinking. Despite his struggle, his eyes closed completely.

“I won’t hurt you, Elijah,” Orlando mumbled as he slid one arm around Elijah’s waist, pulling him closer. He ran his tongue over his friend’s pulse point and shivered. He could feel Elijah’s blood calling to him. He needed this.

“Please,” he whispered as he continued kissing the younger man’s neck. He could feel his incisors elongating into fangs and instinctively knew what to do.

Elijah tilted his head back in consent, amazed that this was actually happening, that Orlando was touching him no matter what the circumstances. So it might hurt a little? So what? It was worth it.

Bright lights shone against his eyelids then, and his eyes opened in reflex. He gasped, then struggled to pull away.

“The car’s here,” he hissed. Oh God, that had to look really bad!

“Damn it,” Orlando hissed, reluctantly releasing Elijah. He’d been so close to fulfilling his craving. . . Five more minutes! That’s all he would’ve needed!

“Guess we’d better go,” he growled, jerking open the door and getting into the car. Fuck, now the craving was worse.

Elijah handed one of the invitations to the driver, got into the car, closed the door, and pulled back the privacy blind between the driver’s section and the main part of the limo. He was still breathing hard, and glanced at Orlando with frightened eyes, keeping his distance. He was suddenly thinking a lot about the whole ring/temptation/corruption thing that the movie harped on. Wow, he’d just come very close to being food! That was scary!

Orlando sat in moody silence, drumming his fingers against the windowsill as he glared out at the passing scenery. He was going to go insane.

Finally, he sighed, glancing at Elijah. “I’m sorry, Lij,” he said softly. “I lost control back there. It won’t happen again.”

Damn. . .he could see the fear in Elijah’s eyes. Fear he’d caused. Fuck, what kind of a monster was he?

“Gollum’s going to show up any minute now, isn’t he?” Elijah asked, looking around with wide eyes. Except this time, HE was the fat hobbit. Oh great.

This was starting to feel very surreal. Bram Stoker’s Lord of the Rings. Grrrrreat.

Orlando blinked. “Huh?” he asked. “What’s Gollum got to do with this?”

“Nothing. I was just being dumb,” Elijah said, shaking his head. “I was just thinking about burdens, you know? Temptations. Things that are thrown at us and we have to deal with. I can’t begin to imagine what you’re going through, Orli, and I know I’m kinda small, but if you need me to carry you through this, I will.”

Orlando smiled. “Thanks, Elijah. You don’t know what that means to me.”

Hey, maybe he could get his craving filled now. . .

He surreptitiously inched closer to Elijah. They had time before they arrived at the party for a quick snack, didn’t they?

Elijah smiled back, then blinked as he noticed Orlando getting closer. It was probably nothing. Just him relaxing. Right?

Orlando licked his lips, still moving closer to Elijah. “Don’t worry, love,” he whispered. “It’ll only hurt for a second.”

Mmm. . .blood.

“What?!” Elijah exclaimed, flattening himself against the side of the car. “Orli! Listen to yourself!”

Oh no! He didn’t want HIM! He just wanted his blood! He felt so used!

“Please, Elijah,” Orlando begged, looking at Elijah with desperate eyes. “I can’t go into the party like this. I don’t know how much longer I can fight it. Just a little bit.”

Elijah whimpered slightly. Okay okay, would Sam let Frodo suck his blood?

. . .

Absolutely. Argh!

Oh no! He was hyperventilating.

“People are going to talk if I show up covered in blood,” he gasped, licking his lips nervously as he thought back to the previous night. Oh no! Now he was picturing Orli naked! That just made it weirder!

“I’ll be careful,” Orlando promised. “Please, Lij, you said you’d help me.”

He moved closer to Elijah, kissing his neck softly. Ohhhh, sweet blood, he could hear it calling his name!

“I. . .I know I did,” Elijah admitted. “But. . .”

He sighed.

“Just let me make this easier,” he said, then leaned forward and started wriggling out of his jacket.

“Thank you, Elijah,” Orlando said sincerely, barely able to contain his excitement. Wee! Blood craving fulfilled! Huzzah!

And, as an added bonus, he’d get to suck pretty little Elijah’s neck. Maybe even cop a feel. Heh!

Egad. . .where had THAT thought come from?

“Yeah, sure,” Elijah said as he loosened his tie. This was, he determined, a lot like having sex for the first time. . .only way more awkward.

He undid the top two buttons of his shirt and closed his eyes, bracing for the worst.

“Okay. Ready,” he said, wincing.

For a few moments, Orlando could do nothing more than stare at the beautiful sight before him. God damn, Elijah was not supposed to look that sexy.

“Just relax,” he whispered, caressing Elijah’s cheek for a moment, then sliding his hand around to cup the back of his friend’s neck. He pulled Elijah to him slightly, leaning forward as he did so until his lips pressed to Elijah’s neck. He felt a shiver trail down his spine.

There was only one way to describe this. . .and that was erotic. Or at least he thought it was.

“Easier said than. . .done,” Elijah responded softly, pausing as Orlando’s lips touched his neck. Had he bit him yet? No? Damn it.

Orlando stroked the back of Elijah’s neck as he ran his tongue over Elijah’s pulse point. He couldn’t stand it any longer. He had to taste blood. Now.

He sank his fangs into Elijah’s skin, then sighed happily as the blood filled his mouth. Ahhhhhh, that sweet nectar of life.

Elijah grabbed Orlando’s arm and a tiny whimper of pain escaped him. He felt a rush of adrenaline, but it was more fear than anything. He was pretty sure the person who came up with the phrase ‘love hurts’ wasn’t referring to this.

Orlando moaned softly, drinking his fill of Elijah’s blood. Somehow he intuitively knew when he’d taken enough and pulled away. He drew his tongue over the twin puncture wounds on Elijah’s neck to stop the bleeding, again, instinctively knowing he was supposed to do that.

And then he licked the blood from his lips and tenderly kissed Elijah’s lips. “Thank you,” he whispered.

Whoo, what a rush!

He felt Elijah tremble in his grasp a moment before their lips touched again. As far as Elijah was concerned, Orlando had gotten sex out of his dinner date, so he was allowed to steal a kiss. . .before he passed out. Wow, he was pretty dizzy.

“The dizziness will pass,” Orlando said softly as he reluctantly buttoned up Elijah’s shirt. He was so sexually charged right now, he wanted nothing more than to divest Elijah of his clothes and have sex with him right here in the back of the limousine.

But he still hadn’t figured out his feelings for Elijah or why he was even having them. And then there was still the small matter of wanting Liv. It wouldn’t be fair to take advantage of Elijah just because he was horny.

He smiled as he began retying Elijah’s tie.

“I don’t think it will,” Elijah said softly, then rubbed his lips together. It wasn’t the lack of blood that was responsible for the majority of his dizziness.

Orlando finished knotting Elijah’s tie and then softly caressed his cheek, his brown eyes gazing into Elijah’s blue orbs.

“Lij,” he whispered, and before he could help himself, he was closing the distance between them to crush his lips against Elijah’s in a fiery kiss.

Elijah’s arms were around him in a flash, pressing their bodies together. He moaned helplessly, simply needing to express his need.

Orlando’s tongue darted out, coaxing Elijah’s mouth open. All thoughts of the party were totally out the window. All that mattered was the body beneath his and the heady sensations he was feeling.

Even his want for Liv didn’t matter. Liv? Liv who? All he knew was Lij.

Elijah yielded to him eagerly, brushing his own tongue against the one belonging to the object of his increasingly obsessive desire. A little voice in his head said that something felt wrong about this, but he really wasn’t interested in listening to it.

Orlando moaned, sliding his hands up Elijah’s sides to cup his face as he rubbed his tongue against Elijah’s, his hips grinding against the younger man’s in a slow rhythm. He wasn’t even worrying about the possibility of being gay, he was simply enjoying the sensations his movements were causing.

Elijah’s hands began exploring Orlando’s body, sliding down his back greedily.

Then the car came to a stop.

Orlando continued kissing Elijah for a few moments until it slowly dawned on him that the car was no longer moving.

He reluctantloke oke the kiss, panting heavily. “I think. . .we’re here,” he gasped, staring down at Elijah. Fuck, what was it with interruptions tonight?

“Oh,” Elijah said stupidly, panting heavily. “Um, okay.”

What else was he supposed to say?

What was his name again?

Orlando licked his lips as he straightened his clothes, then did the same for Elijah. “You better put your jacket on,” he said.

He couldn’t resist and gave Elijah another soft kiss. God, his lips were soft.

“Oh. Thanks,” Elijah said weakly, then reached for his jacket. He cleared his throat, trying to figure out an appropriate thing to say here.

Orlando smiled, clearing his throat as well. “We, uh, should probably get out of the car.”

Yes, good idea, before he decided to kiss Elijah again.

“Yeah,” Elijah agreed, then put his hand on the door handle. He paused, ran his hand down Orlando’s arm, smiled, then got out of the car, feeling like he was walking on clouds.

Orlando smiled, then got out of the car as well, adjusting his jacket. Yep, he felt pretty pleased with himself.

Oh, and look, his blood craving was gone!

He grinned at Elijah, feeling reenergized.

He wondered if the others would be able to tell something had happened between him and Elijah. . .
