Dining with the lady

CHAPTER 6 – DINING WITH THE LADY

Time had gone fast here in the golden woods. Three moons had come and gone before I noticed it. I had been spending time with Haldir and his brothers. And once I had met up with Galadriel and had explained all to her, my nerves had been calmed considerably. She had allowed me to stay; she had even offered a servant to deliver my letters to Mirkwood. She had laughed softly at my worries about her shunning me. She assured me she would never do such a thing and that I was welcome to stay as long as I wished.

I had instantly loved the elven lady. Not as a lover or a sister, but as a protector, and as I loved my long missed mother.

I was sitting by a little pond behind the tree that housed Haldir, finishing up on my letter to the healer. I only had to write one more. I had decided to write a letter for my father though he might hate me and burn it. I just had to let him know I was fine, as was the baby. The healers here had reassured me that.
d I d I just call it a baby? /

Rumil had been teasing me all the time, telling me that the sire of the child was a foul orc, and that I should name it Agnosh or Gulack. Orophin had been very kind as to fixing gs fgs for me. He ordered some new leggings and a wider tunic, so I would fit in it more comfortably. He had also found a special blend of herbs that would make my hair shine as it used to, because for some reason my hair had grown dull the longer I had carried the *thing*. I tried very hard to still think of it as a thing, but for some reason this became harder and harder to do, the word child kept popping up in my mind. And then three was Haldir, who was generally fussing over me, tending to my every need and making sure I was comfortable at all times.

A sudden sound made me look up from my letter to see a large elf. There was no mistake, the long black hair and the same large grey eyes. “Elladan?”

The other elf spun around and looked at me. “Oh, you startled me,” he said and smiled. “I am Elrohir, Elladan is my twin brother.”

“I dare say,” I looked him up and down, amazed. Elrohir, I had heard they were alike, often clad alike even, but this was amazing. “Then well met prince Elrohir,” I smiled, laying my papers aside. “I am Legolas.”

“I have heard of you,” Elrohir sand and squatted down next to me. “As far as I am informed you know both Elladan and my grandparents’, as well as the marchwarden and his brothers.” The half elf tilted his head and looked amused, “They all speak very highly of you.”

“I am flattered,” I said and bit my lip nervously. This elf was so much like Elladan it was scary, even the same tone in his voice. And the same gaze, able to communicate in a way that made you believe that you were the centre of the world; that all that you had to say or do was interesting and intriguing.

“I would be greatly flattered if you would join me and my grandparents for dinner, Legolas,” Elrohir said smiling. “Since Elladan seems to have taken a liking to you, I will trust his judgement.”

I must have looked like a complete fool, for Elrohir sat down in the grass opposite of me, “What is wrong?” he asked softly.

“I have never in my life seen an elf with freckles,” I said extending a hand to touch his face, then quickly retreating it again as I realized just how rude I appeared.

“You can touch,” he said softly and took my hand and guiding it up to his face. I ran my fingers over his nose to his cheekbone. “Amazing,” I whispered to myself. Suddenly blushed as I realized what I said. “Sorry,” I mumbled and let my hand fall down in my lap again.

“But Elladan did not have freckles,” I heard myself say.

“He does in the summer time,” Elrohir answered and smiled a warm smile. “So will you join me for dinner? You can bring your mate too.”

“My mate?” I repeated

“Haldir, he is your mate is he not?” Elrohir asked in a matter-of-fact tone.

“No, Haldir is my friend,” I laughed softly, “not my mate.”

“Ah,” Elrohir said and blushed, “I see.”

“I can bring him anyway if you wish,” I said and smiled to the prince.

“Please do, it has been long since I have talked to the marchwarden,” the dark-haired elf said and rose gracefully to his feet once more.

“See you at dinner then Legolas,” Elrohir said and tucked in a strand of rebelr ber behind his ear.

“Yes, Elrohir, you will,” I said.

Then the dark-haired elf spun around and left into the woods. I sat there against the tree looking after him for some time. What an amazing being. I shook my head. How could I think these thoughts? I could never dare court him in my condition. Who in his right mind would want to touch a freak like me?

I pushed these thoughts out of my head and resumed the letter to the healer.

I had been waiting for Haldir to make up his mind whether or not to come with me to the lord and lady’s dinner table. But just in the last moment he had decided against it and instead sent me on my way. This had puzzled me greatly, but I figured he just had a bad day. Perhaps he just needed to be with his brothers.

So I had hurried for the royal talan. Once I had climbed the rope ladder, I found to my amazement Elrohir standing there waiting, “You came,” he said and smiled brightly.

“But of course, how could I decline a dinner with a prince?” I chuckled.

Elrohir looked over my shoulder as though looking for something. “Where is Haldir?” he asked.

“Haldir is not joining us, he wanted to be alone,” I said and shook my head as to empathize my words.

“Very well, you are stuck with me alone then,” the half-elf jested and shrugged before casually wrapping his arm around mine and leading me into the dining room.

The room itself was absolutely breathtaking. This was what I had dreamed that Valinor would look like. And the Lord and Lady at the end of the table seemed to just add to the perfect picture. Elrohir bowed slightly, “Grandfather, grandmother,” he said and sat down, leaving me alone on the floor.

“My lord and lady, thank you for having me at your table,” I said, and at Celeborn’s nod, quickly seated myself next to Elrohir. I did my best to remember all my good manners, and not make myself noticed. Galadriel looked at me and smiled reassuringly. Elrohir smiled at me too. Why were they so nice? So smiling? What did they know I did not? I smiled back nervously, and returned to my food.

Suddenly the lady of light broke the comfortable silence. “Have you finished those letters you requested Legolas?”

“Aye I have my lady,” I answered and blinked innocently.

“I have a messenger that is going to Mirkwood at noon, I will send him by Haldir’s talan to pick up your letters,” she said.

“Thank you,” I mumbled and felt like an idiot. How does one thank the Lady of Light?

After the meal Elrohir joined me in the open part of the royal talan. “I have heard you are skilled with a bow,” he suddenly stated.

“Aye I am,” I answered and looked puzzled at the half-elf.

“I would like to put that to a test, if you do not mind,” Elrohir said.

“Is that a challenge prince Elrohir of Imladris?” I smirked.

“Indeed Legolas,” he chuckled, “meet me at midday by the pond.”

“The pond?” I repeated and crossed my arms.

“Yes, and remember your bow,” Elrohir said and blinked innocently.

I laughed, “Oh, yes it is a deal.”

The half-elf looked up at the stars. “Have you noticed what a beautiful starry sky there always seems to be here?”

I looked up too, “Yes they are beautiful, and very unique,” I said dazed.

Elrohir tore his gaze from the skies and looked at me, “Tomorrow then.”

“Midday,” I continued.

Then without warning Elrohir caressed my cheek gently, before he turned and went back inside the dining room, leaving me outside under the starry sky. I was puzzled by this elf’s strange behaviour. Was he flirting with me? Why would anyone in his or her right mind flirt with me? I was no longer able to hide my circumstances, so it was not like I was some prize. I was not one you would get involved with. But yet, if I was not greatly mistaken, Elrohir had just flirted with me. I was so confused.

I went back to Haldir’s talan only to find him sitting alone on the balcony. “Haldir? Are you feeling alright?”

The March Warden turned his head and looked at me, and then he smiled, “Yes of course dear Legolas, and was it a lovely dinner?”

“Yes it was incredible, the architecture there was simply breathtaking beautiful,” I said and manoeuvred down in the chair next to Haldir. To move with my usual grace was not an option anymore, it hadn’t been for an entire moon. “Oh you made tea,” I exclaimed as I saw the little pot and the unused cup. I looked up at Haldir, “You have been waiting up for me?!”

Haldir nodded slowly as he poured me some tea, “So pray tell my friend, how was your evening?”

I smiled gratefully at Haldir and the warm tea. “As I said, it was incredible.” I took a careful sip, “It was too bad you did not join me, Elrohir asked for an archery competition tomorrow at midday,” I chuckled.

Haldir smiled a strange forced smile, “Sounds like fun.”

“I am sure it will be, he is quite the strange elf, this Elrohir,” I mused with a little smile.

“Yes he is a intriguing young one,” Haldir said and watched me intensely. I nodded and yawned. “But Legolas, you should be resting, not sitting here on a small wooden chair,” Haldir said, and started fussing over me as usual. The strange moment was over and Haldir was himself again. The sad expression had left his eyes and the strained smile had vanished.

Later when we both lie in his large bed, I could hear Haldir’s steady breathing, indicating that he had fallen asleep. I lay sprawled on my back, not being able to sleep on my stomach anymore. I ran my hand over my cheek where Elrohir had touched me. He had stirred something within me, something I had renounced for so long. The mere thought of his hands on my skin made a tingle in my body. I wondered what would have happened if I had kissed him right there? The image of Elrohir’s soft slightly parted lips, meeting mine, his tongue teasing the hot cave of my mouth, went straight to my groin and I felt myself grow erect. I felt slightly embarrassed laying here aroused next to Haldir. But he had seen me like this before. I never thought of Haldir like that anymore, the marchwarden had become my best friend. I even tend to forget that night by the forest lake had ever existed.

My erection throbbed. Haldir was sleeping. He would never notice I told myself as I let my hand slide down to my member, and wrapped it around the slick flesh. I sucked in a sharp breath as I began to move, it had been so long since I had taken any pleasure from others, or myself, and I knew I would be spent fast.

I moved my hand faster and closed my eyes. The mental image of the Imladris prince seemed to be burned on the inside of my eyelids. I arched my back as I moved my hand faster brining myself to orgasm. “E-Elrohir,” I whispered as I spilled over my own hand. I felt warmth and a calm settle in my body as I curled up and slowly drifted off.
