Dom talks funny...
Chapter 57
We'd all piled into their van. Dom braved the very back seat with the two boys, while Elijah and I settled in the middle seat with Jordan. We'd chosen a red eye flight to the east coast, so by the time we got out of the airport and on the road to Sanford it was almost noon. "Are you guys hungry?" Linda called.
"Yes!" Dom called out, almost in perfect unison with Josh and Zack.
"Just think of Dom as one of the kids now." Elijah said.
"Wanker." Dom muttered.
"Mom what's a wanker?" Josh asked.
"I don't know honey." She said.
Dom's eyes widened, not because he'd used that word in front of children...but because Linda was clueless as to what he'd actually said. He decided to let it drop though.
"So you're an actor Dominic?" Linda asked. I almost gaped at her.
"Yes Ma'am I am, and please, call me Dom."
"Were you in Lord of the Rings with Elijah here?"
"Yep, I was the hobbit Merry."
"Was he the one who sang?" Linda continued.
"No mom!" Zach groaned. "That was Pippin! Merry is the one who stabbed the Wraith."
"Oh."
Dom looked smug as Zach continued to explain the things that Merry did in the movie. "Well have you done anything else?" Linda asked.
"Mostly British programs, I've got a show on ABC though right now called Lost."
"Oh you're in that? I didn't like that."
"Dom was in this series that I watched on the BBC a while back." I told her.
"I can't watch the BBC." Linda exclaimed.
"Why not?" Dom laughed, too late for me to stop him.
"I can't understand them; I can't follow what they're saying. British people just have a weird way of talking." Dom's eyes narrowed slightly, and I shook my head when I saw him go to speak again. "Have you been watching the Harry Potter movies?" She then asked. "Zachary here has read all of them; he understood them even when he was a little boy. He tested as the smartest child in Sanford."
"Is that right?" Elijah said politely.
I just wanted to crawl into a hole and die; this was going to be a long week.
