Chapter 54
He came back a few minutes later with a sad look on his face. "I don't think you gave me the correct number Luv."
"Why's that?" I looked at the number in my book, it was the correct one.
"When I phoned some woman started speaking in I think Spanish."
I laughed and picked up my own mobile and dialed the number.
"Hola!" I heard on the other line.
"Hola Heather!" I smiled and shook my head at Dom.
"Hey girl how are you?" She laughed.
"Pretty good, got your card it was lovely." I was chewing on the end of my pen.
"Oh hey no problem, thanks for the picture! She's beautiful, and a wonderful middle name if I do say so myself."
I laughed, "I thought you'd like that. So how are you classes going?" Heather was a grad student at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
"Good, ready for them to be over though."
"When's your next break?" I had a plan going in my head, and Elijah could tell...because he took the pen out of my mouth before I could chew it to pieces.
"Umm...." I heard her rummage around her desk, "Three weeks from now, got a week and a half off for Thanksgiving and all that."
"Wicked, I think 'Lij and I are going to be at my parents for that time,” I looked to Elijah for confirmation, who nodded. "Yeah, so do ya want to get together sometime while were on the east coast?"
"That sounds good, that way I can spoil Jordie." I could hear her smiling.
I laughed, "So...any news? Classes good? New boyfriend? Old ex giving you trouble?"
"Yes, classes good, ready for the break though. No new boyfriend, and yes, ex's are always giving me trouble. You'd never believe who I ran into the other day!"
"Stephen." I laughed joking.
"Yes!"
"No!" I starred at the phone as if it had grown into Stephens head. "Did he speak to you?"
"Yes! He tried to get me to have dinner with him."
"Oh my God you said no right?"
Elijah and Dom were exchanging looks that said, 'Like totally, for sure, like oh my god no way!' Elijah was sitting with Jordie on his lap, bouncing his knee and dangling his car keys in front of her eyes.
Heather and I talked for a good half hour before she had to go to class. We promised to talk again soon and plan our little get together. "So...care to spend Thanksgiving with us Dom?"
"Is there food?" Dom asked cheekily.
"Food and a girl."
"I'm in mate!"
