Heaven Knows
Chapter 5: TA180

The twins were a magnificent sight as they were escorted into the great dinning hall by their parents. Though their faces were identical, their manner and dress were strikingly individual. Elrohir wore an outer robe of rich maroon buttoned from the waist up to his neck, the high collar of his cream brocade tunic peeking up from the collar and flowing out below the waist. Elrohir held his head level and looked all the part of a great Noldor prince. Elladan, though still princely, moved with a little swagger, a lop-sided grin on his face. The heir was a bit more of a rogue than his brother was. His midnight blue robe was open from collar to waist. An intricate mithril clasp held the rich velvet closed. A pale blue, raw silk tunic peeked out, unbuttoned at the neck to reveal the soft pale flesh. Snug blue leggings and polished black boots finished the ensemble. His nearly black hair shimmered in the light of the candelabras. A jeweled clip held the braided sides back. Together the twins were as the warm sunrise and the cool twilight.

Erestor looked upon the young lord with pride and no little amount of desire. Since Elladan began to mature, the advisor noticed his increasing beauty. Now a want for the younger elf burned deep within his being. Only by the elder elf’s remarkable ability to school his features and hide his feelings from those around him, did his secret remains safe. Now, watching his heart's desire come of age and still believing to be unable to confess his feelings was almost more than Erestor could stand. Elladan smiled at his father’s long time friend and advisor as they approached the table. Erestor returned the smile, feeling his insides warm. As Elladan took his seat cross from him, Erestor found his hands itching to stroke the dark locks, his lips wished to taste the flesh peeking out of the collar. So intent was the counselor on his own private musings that he was unaware Elrond had finished the greeting and toast until Glorfindel nudged him with his elbow. Startled, Erestor fumbled to raise his glass, nearly spilling the wine.

The Chief Advisor of Imladris spent the reminder of the evening watching with a pang of jealousy as countless ellyth and ellyn vied for Elladan’s favor. He felt the internal flames grow each time Erestor imagined that it was he Elladan held on the dance floor; he to whom the elder twin whispered. Erestor’s mood soon turned gloomy as he sat in the corner, drinking more wine than was his habit. He watched as Haldir lead Elladan from the festivities. The advisor knew what would transpire; tonight the twins would take a lover to their beds to teach them the art of physical loving. Elrohir had left a short wile earlier with a lovely young woman, a daughter of a Ranger. Now the handsome Marchwarden of Lothlórien lead the one elf Erestor loved more than any other from the hall. Erestor gulped the last of his wine before rising, a bit unsteadily. He’d had enough. His heart ached and his passion flared. He was flushed and wanting, but what he truly wanted was never to be his. He left the hall through the garden doors.

Gildor was an ancient elf and though many thought him reckless and flighty, he long ago learned to see and hear what others did not. He saw the longing in Erestor’s eyes, the flush on his cheeks that wine alone did not cause. He was not certain for which elf the advisor pined, but it was clear that for whatever reason, Erestor was leaving alone, frustrated. Gildor followed the raven-haired elf from the feast, catching up to him in the garden.

“Meldir!” the Lord of the Wandering Company called to Erestor, “hold a moment.”

Erestor stopped and turned. “Gildor,” he said with a slight bow. Gildor approached and placing an arm casually around the slightly smaller elf’s shoulder, began to lead him to his chambers.

“You look like you could use a bit of distraction,” a husky voice whispered in the advisor's ear. Erestor could not repress the shiver it invoked. “I have watched you this night. Someone has excited you, yet left you unfulfilled. Why is that?” Gildor questioned, letting his arm slid down Erestor’s back to rest low on his hip, causing Erestor to be drawn closer to the gypsy-elf. The advisor felt his body begin to stir. Gildor was a beautiful elf and his scent was intoxicating as it mingled with the night breeze.

Without thought, Erestor wrapped his arm around Gildor’s waist, leaning into the other’s body. “The one I desire I cannot have,” he said sadly, “yet my heart and body betray me.”

“I know I can not ease your heart, but I can ease your body. Let me appease your desire; give your passion release.”

“I could not ask that of you. I…”

“I ask for nothing my friend, but if you do not find some outlet, it will consume you from within. I expect nothing in return…other than mutual pleasure.” The blond finished by running his tongue along the shell of Erestor’s ear. The counselor shuddered and a wanton moan escaped his lips. Gildor took this as acceptance and pulling the slighter elf close, leaned down to kiss the pale lips. Erestor’s rational mind screamed that this should stop, but the fire deep within his body would not be denied. It had been a long time since he had shared his body with another. The fleeting thought of Elladan writhing in Haldir’s bed broke all resistance and he greedily returned the kiss. The two ellon fumbled and fondled through the darkened hall, clumsily bursting through the door to Gildor’s chambers and making quick work of all impeding clothing. Roaming hands and questing lips soon had Erestor forgetting the stabbing pain in his heart.
