Manda had found a good book from the library (or whatever they call it) and was now leaning against a tree in the garden. She’d found it beautiful and peaceful with its flowers and trees, and had decided to sit on the grass rather than the bench. She’d already explored the city, and everyone knew her.
Legolas decided to take the advantage that Boromir was out of range, and walked over to talk with her.
"I take it you like reading." She looked up, startled.
Legolas watched as she returned to her book, and decided that it was better that he just left her alone.
She got 15 pages read when she realized she had another visitor. Arwen sat down beside her. "Well you’re quite popular, aren’t you? I heard Legolas down here a second ago." Manda looked up from her book. "Yes, he left a couple minutes ago." She pointed in the direction he left. "He left that way, if you want to find him."
Setting the book beside her; she asked, "noticed what?" Arwen’s lips curled into a smile that told Manda that she was going to be informed of everything around here. "Both Legolas and boromir like you. And Legolas doesn’t have a clue how to handle the situation!" Manda looked at Arwen with an ‘are you insane’ look.
"Situation?" She repeated slowly. Arwen grinned. "After you left them yesterday, they started fighting. I think they’ve started a war between them!" "Really? I didn’t even notice it…" whatever else Arwen was going to say was cut off by someone behind them clearing his throat. Arwen left with a smug grin, and one thought.
Wondering why Arwen left so quickly, Manda turned her face so she could see behind her. And there stood Boromir, with a flower in his hand.
"Do you mind if I join you?" He asked after noticing the book. "I don’t mind," she replied, picking up the book. "I can’t manage much of it, anyway. I know a lot of words, yet half the ones in these books confuse me."
"What exactly is it?" He asked after giving her the flower. She smiled, inhaling the smell. "Thank you. It’s history, I think." He smirked. "That’s probably why, then. I’m not one for reading, though."
It was exactly at this point that Legolas decided to come back and try again. He heard 2 voices, though.
Manda looked between the 2 and could feel the tension. "Yes?" She asked Legolas, hoping to break it. "I just wanted to speak with Boromir, but he’s busy so I’ll just leave."
Boromir turned to Manda and kissed her on the forehead, momentarily stunning her, before bidding her farewell and leaving with Legolas.
As they went around the corner, Manda realized that what Arwen had said was correct. And a thought hit her. She groaned and buried her face in her hands.
