Aftermath
To reviewers: This is an AU. I can do whatever I want. Who cares about Arwen. Besides, it is more exciting to read if it’s a gender switch. Hmm, on ff.net, I seemed to have more positive reviews about it, because it was something that readers have not really encountered before, so they were like, “Cool.” =P Anyway, I don’t see anything like this on adultff.net, so I want to be the first. ^_~
Chapter 4: Aftermath
Crown Prince Melenor woke up, startled. Something had entered his room and plopped onto the bed next to him. He turned to see Legolas sitting at the edge of his bed, smiling down at him.
“How are you feeling today, big brother?” she asked.
“I feel fine, Legolas,” Melenor muttered, still sleepy. “Why?”
“Well, after that huge fight last night, I heard you had inj injuries,” Legolas responded. “I just wanted to check up on you to see if you are fine.”
“Well, my injuries were not severe,” her brother said. “So I will fully recover.”
Legolas grinned. “That’s good,” she said, standing up. “Well, I must go to visit the others to see if they are faring well, too. By the way, father says it is time to break our fast, unless you want to go back to sleep.”
“You know I will never miss a meal.”
“I know you won’t. Keep this up and you’ll be as fat as a dwarf.”
“Why, you little-”
Legolas’s laughter trailed behind her as she ran out of the room, Melenor chasing after her.

“Good morning, Ada!” Legolas gushed as she entered the dining room for breakfast where her father, Naraden, and Galassen were already seated.
Thranduil smiled. “Good morning, leaflet,” he said. “How are you faring?”
“Very well,” Legolas said as she sat down. “Considering what happened last night, I’m fine.”
“Melenor and I will be traveling to Lothlorien today,” Thranduil said. “We have important matters to discuss with Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel. So Naraden, you will be in charge of the household for today.”
“Yes, father,” Naraden said glumly.
Thranduil cocked his head. “Why the sad face, my son?” he asked.
Naraden hesitated, looking at his siblings who have just come in to the dining room in time to hear about Thranduil’s travel to Lothlorien. “B-because we never got to perform the play we worked so hard in not only writing but rehearsing it,” he answered.
Thranduil looked at him, then the sad faces of the rest of his children, then started to laugh. “Do not be so down-hearted, my children,” he said. “You all can perform the play for me and Lord Elrond the next time he and his children come to visit.”
Legolas saw that his idea did not quite go well with her siblings, so she decided to cheer them up a bit. Mischievously grinning, she scooped up a spoonful of grapes and boinged them across the table, some of them hitting Naraden smack on the nose and some on his forehead. Legolas and her siblings, excluding Naraden, all started laughing. Naraden shot Legolas an angry look, then smiled and grabbed a bread roll from the bread basket. He flung it at Legolas, but Legolas blocked it with her fork. She did not expect that the bread would ricochet off her fork and hit Galassen smack on the cheek.
“Missed!” she yelled.
In no time, a food fight started between the royal children. Thranduil sat frozen, awed for a moment, then shouted at his children to stop.
This was going to be a fun day. Were they ever wrong.

“Thank you for accompanying me, Kuellen,” Legolas said to her brother as they mounted their horses and rode out of the castle gates toward the forest.
“Well, we had a promise, remember?” Kuellen said. “That we will go out together to explore the realm of the great forests that you have never seen before. I think you will like it. Once you have gotten acquainted with the forest, you can hear the trees talk to you.”
As they rode on, Legolas gazed around her in wonder at the huge forest. “I never knew how big the forest is,” she said.
“You wouldn’t believe how big earth is,” Kuellen commented. “Let us not make haste. We have two hours before it gets dark.”
The further Kuellen and Legolas rode on, the more nervous Kuellen got. He could feel that something was not right. The feeling of danger nearby kept bothering him. He intensely looked all around andnd nnd nothing, but deep inside, he knew something was out there. Somewhere. He tried to ignore that feeling, but he could not. He thought at first he felt this way because this was the first time that Legolas has been outside the castle. But the more he rode deeper into the forest, the more he felt danger was near. His heart pounded as he glared at his surroundings. Legolas looked at him with worry.
“Is something wrong, Kuellen?” she asked.
Kuellen darted his eyes everywhere. “We must go back, Legolas,” he said.
Just then, an arrow lodged itself into a tree trunk right next to Kuellen. He whipped his head around with wide eyes, shocked. Grabbing his own bow and arrow, he notched it and fired back at the direction the arrow came from.
Kuellen turned when he heard Legolas’s horse rear up and screech in fear. Legolas gasped as she saw two men with knives rush towards her.
“Kuellen!” she screamed as she tried to calm her horse down. She grabbed her bow and yanked an arrow out of her quiver.
Before Kuellen could react, his horse reared up as well, and he was thrown backward off his horse, landing onto the ground with a thud. He turned to see Legolas being pulled off her horse by two figures. One of them grabbed her bow and quiver as she tried to ward them off with her weapon and yanked them out of her grasp. Another snuck up on her and grabbed her, pulling her off her horse. Kuellen leaped to his feet to help her and was right away rewarded with a blow to his face.
“Ugh!” he gasped as he landed onto the ground with a thud. Nearby, he could hear Legolas screaming, “Let me go!”
“Legolas!” he shouted, struggling to stand. A foot on his chest pushed him back down onto the ground, and Kuellen looked up to see a sword pointed straight at his face.
~ Ooo, cliffhanger! Review please!! How is it? Is it good? Is it bad? Is it the most terrible fanfic you have ever read in you whole entire life that you want to scream your head off and take this fic to repeatedly stomp on it until there is nothing but ashes? If this is the case, please don’t tell me. He². No, that’s all right, you can tell me. But nicely, please?
