Without Looking Back

Chapter 5

Haldir smiled as he escorted Keira though the pathways of the city. He was trying to get her loosen up a bit more. She would answer his questions, but she was not forth coming with much more then that. He had never had that problem before. He loved that she was making him work to get, and hold her attention. It showed him that she was not like most of the maidens in Lothlorien. All he had to do was smile their way, and get anything that he wanted.

Just as they were reaching the edge of the city, Keira turned to Haldir and smiled. A butterfly had landed on his left arm; it was light blue-silver and was outlined with a dark blue. Keira smiled even wider. She had never seen anything quite like it. Haldir chuckled and lifted it off his arm and with one finger while turning her right hand palm up. Then he placed the butterfly in her palm.

After a few seconds and it did not fly away, a few more butterflies started flying around them and landing in both of their hair. At this point Keira was laughing and whirling around. It was almost as if they were dancing with her to some unheard tune, that only they could hear.

It wasn’t long until they had attracted some other unwanted attention. A few elves that were near by stopped what they were doing to see what all the fuss was a bout. Lady Galadriel was one of them. Galadriel smiled and make her way over to Haldir and Keira.

“I see that Lórien is welcoming you with open arms Princess Keira.”

“Thank you my lady.” Keira said smiling brightly at the lady.

“Are you showing her the bubbling brook Haldir?” the lady asked looking to her most trusted warrior.

“I am my lady.” He said and bowed his head.

“Good I think that she will like it there. I will see you both at dinner tonight I trust.”

A few minutes later Haldir and Keira strolled into the clearing next to the small stream also known as the bubbling brook. The sight to meet them had them both smiling. Orophin and Sierra were engaged in a rather passionate kiss. So they tip toed up and sat down beside them.

When Orophin looked up Haldir pulled Keira onto his lap and gave her I wet kiss. When he pulled away a little he chuckled at her. Her face was beet red and her eyes were just about to pop out of her head. He pulled her close again and kissed her cheek.

“Haldir I thought you wanted to get to know the maiden, not scare her away!” Orophin asked with a gleam in his deep blue eyes.

“I’m trying. But I just could not resist.” Haldir looked to Keira and smiled. She looked away to the stream, the center there was bubbling and steam coming up.

“So that is what it is called the bubbling brook.” Keira mumdered quietly, more to her self then anyone else.

“Yes it is. The water is very warm and it does wonders for your hair.” Replied Orophin. “Not that either of you need it or anything. How did you get your hair so soft?” Orophin asked nuzzling agents Sierra’s neck.

Haldir brought a hand up and ran his fingers through keira’s long blond locks. He smiled and pulled a lock up to his nose. “What is it that you use on your hair my lady?”

“Well most of the time we would buy all our shampoo. But mom showed us how to make our own. So for the last few years we have make our own. Keira favors passion flower, while I love rose water.”

“Well I’m not sure what passion flowers are but I don’t think that we have them around here but we do have roses. Come I will show you to the lady’s gardens.” Haldir said pulling Keira up to her feel and starting off to the gardens hand in hand.

Keira looked over her shoulder with pleading eyes, but Sierra only smiled and turned back to her playful bunkering with Orophin. While Orophin gave an amused smirk to Haldir. Once away from their siblings Haldir started telling her about the different wildlife that inhabited the woods of his home.

Later that evening after Haldir and Orophin delivered them safely to their talan. Both girls were rushing to get them selves ready for the evening meal. As well as telling each other what had happened that afternoon after Haldir had drug her off to see the lady’s the gardens.

“Come on, tell me what happened Keira. I saw how the two of you were looking at each other.” Sierra said elbowing her twin in the side. “ Did he try to kiss you a gain?”

Actually no he didn’t. He was very sweet. After he showed me the gardens he took me to the soap makers where they showed me how they make the soaps and oils here in lorien. Haldir bought some soaps oils that *he* loves. They are almost the same sent as the passionflowers. And some in lavender.”

“And just who brought the oils home him or you?” Sierra smirked.

“Well I did. He left them on the table by the door. I quess he forgot them.”

“Forgot them my foot! That man had his eyes set on you girl.”

“He is not a man Sea. Why would he want me? I’m just like any other girl around here.”

“Oh don’t go there Kie you know your not ugly. Your beautiful and you damn well know you are. If you’d stop being soo damn shy you could have any man or elf that you want.”

“I wouldn’t go that far sis! You are the one that can get just about anyone you want Sea. That’s not me, you know that.”

Both girls looked up to the sound of knocking on the front door. Keira sighed and followed Sierra into the living room of their little talan.
