CH 5

Meanwhile, Larien was walking hurriedly to her sister Arwen, for she felt the worry that stretched across her face.

“Where have you been? If mother were here, she would be worried sick about you! What have you gotten yourself into this time…and without me?” Arwen asked after she gave her sister the 3rd degree about going off by herself and without her sidekick.

A happy smile rained across Larien’s face, “Prince Legolas and I just fought in the woods a moment ago, I caught him completely off guard. It was quite entertaining.” A giggle escaped her lips.

“Yeah right, little sister! Prince Legolas rarely comes to these parts of the woods! I doubt that the Elf Prince you dream of would come all the way to Rivendell from Mirkwood?” Arwen would regret saying that out loud. Haldir and Prince Legolas soon interrupted it.

Clearing his throat, Haldir asked, “Good Day, Lady Larien and Lady Arwen?” Legolas heard what Arwen said but did not comment.

Not noticing that Legolas was standing next to Haldir, “Yeah, Larien was telling me about how Prince Legolas was here and they had gone into battle just a few moments ago. What would Prince Legolas be doing so far from Mirkwood?” Arwen asked but she would soon regret her foolish behavior.

Larien felt her cheeks go flush and she ran off into the woods embarrassed by her sister’s outrageous behavior. When she was younger, Larien had the biggest crush on Legolas.

Haldir stated, “Prince Legolas of Mirkwood is standing right beside me.” As she turned slightly to see the Prince and thought of how foolish her behavior was to Larien.

Arwen’s was ashamed of her words, “Prince Legolas, forgive my actions for I have embarrassed my sister and myself. When did you arrive? Oh, dear, I must go and find her, again forgive my ugly outburst.” She hugged the Prince and curtsied before she was about to go in search of Larien.

“All is forgiven, Arwen, you did not know that I was here and we’ve all changed quite a bit. Please let me find your sister instead of you.” Prince Legolas requested this from Lady Arwen.

Arwen stated, “Alright if you wish to speak with her, please tell her I am truly sorry.” Legolas bowed and walked over towards where she had ran off into the forest in search to sort this out.

Larien was running fast and was in disbelief that Arwen would speak her words right in front of Prince Legolas. She had trusted Arwen with her most precious thoughts. Then she came to a tree and climbed up, found a branch and sat down to weep.

Legolas was in search of the spunky lady as he took wind of someone crying in the trees. His Elven eyesight saw the young maiden in the trees above as he silently climbed the tree branches to comfort Lady Larien.

He made it to the top and he saw Larien with her face in her knee’s crying. She was sitting on a branch that overlooked her father’s kingdom. Lady Larien knew someone was there and thought it was her sister.

“Why have you come here? You made me sound like a love sick fool in front of Prince Legolas, How could you embarrass me like that?” Lady Larien looked up from her weeping as she saw a pair of sky blue eyes starring back at her own blue-green eyes.
