Into Love's Arms

Elrond shook his head at his father in laws shock, they had seen half elves before. So why would he be shocked? Elrond sat next to Celeborn and wondered what to do now.

"They are interesting are they not?" Celeborn asked absentmindedly.

"Yes. But why are you so shocked that they may be half elven?" Elrond inquired.

"Because they come from the human world. The human reality next to ours."

"Yes I know that but elves have been exiled there so it is only natural that they choose mates there." Elrond looked at Celeborn confused.

"But here in Middle Earth as half elves they are immortal now. If they go back to their time they will be mortal. I do not know how to counsel them." Celeborn rubbed his eyes as a sudden exhaustion overcame him.

"Tell them the truth and let them decide. It is up to them." Elrond sighed.

"I will but if they stay in ME what next? Where will they live? This is still a war torn land. Imladris is basically deserted. Mirkwood, Gondor, Rohan, and the smaller villages are rebuilding. Many elves are going west. Galadriel has already gone!" Celeborn felt a few tears run down his face.

Elrond hugged Celeborn, he knew how it felt when your love went West.

"Will you ever go west?" Elrond asked Celeborn.

"No. My heart is here and it always will be. She renounced her vows, she knew I will never go west so it is like we are divorced." Celeborn cried into Elronds arms.

"Celebrian did the same thing. I will never go west either. Imladriswherwhere my heart lies." Elrond murmured.

The next morning.

Heidi awoke slowly her body ached, and her mind screamed for rest. But something nagged at her, at the edge of her mind like a splinter. She glanced over and realized she was in a strange room. She sat up and looked around. It was a simple room with a fireplace to her left and cabnets to her right. A table was at the foot of the bed and it held food and clothes. She woke Denise and they ate and dressed.

Denise sat on the bed and tried to fix her unruly hair, sighing she gave up. Heidi laughed at her slightly.

"I didn't even bother with my hair! We must look horrible!" Heidi smiled at the look on Denises face.

"What if we see Legolas???" Denise started pulling at her hair again.

Heidi's smile disappeared at the mention of Legolas. "I do not care what that one thinks of me." she snapped angrily.

Denise siged and rolled her eyes. "You really should apologize to him."

"NO! HELL NO! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG! I WAS SCARED AND ANGRY! HE PURPOUSLY SNAPPED AT ME! I DON'T CARE WHAT LEGOLAS THINKS ON ME! HE CAN GO TO HELL!!!" Heidi yelled at Denise, her friend just rolled her eyes. They both jumped at the sound of the door opening. Legolas stood there glaring at Heidi. Evidently he heard what she said.

"The day I apologize for your childish behavior is the day Sauron is king of Middle Earth! Follow me Lord Celeborn wishes to see you." Legolas then turned and smiled at Denise.

Heidi glared back at him before she followed him and Denise down the hall. They came to a huge carven door, Legolas knocked on it, and opened it. He gestured for Heidi and Denise to go inside he followed and closed the door. A very handsome elf sat behind a desk studying papers. He looked up and smiled at them. Heidi stared at him he had long silver hair and piercing blue eyes. He wore silver and blue robes, he was fair and etheral more then the other elves. He stood and motioned for them to sit. Denise sat down and looked at her friend. Heidi blushed and slipped into a chair. Before they could talk the door opened ad Haldir and a dark haired elf came into the room. They sat in the remaining two chairs in front of the desk.

"I am Celeborn he is Elrond lord of Rivendell also know as Imladris."

"I am Heidi and this is my friend Denise."

"I think she can speak for herself." Legolas muttered.

Celeborn raised an eybrow and looked at Haldir. "I take it Legolas and Heidi do not get along?"

Haldir smiled and shook his head. "Heidi was tired and scared she said somethings and Legolas yelled at her and threatened to leave her to the Orcs."

Celeborn shook his head "do not mind him Lady Heidi he grows grouchy in his old age."

Legolas muttered something in elvish and looked at the floor.

"Now you are wondering how you came to be in Lothlorien right?" Celeborn asked looking at the women.

They nodded.

"Did you pass through some sort of energy barrier?"

More nodding.

"Tis simple this world is another reality. Yours is the Human World ours is Middle Earth. There are energy barriers that allow passage between worlds. Understand?"

Still more nodding.

"So that is how you came to be in Middle Earth. Now for the problem these barriers are olny acessable for a few days at certain times of the year. You may stay here or go back. But before you decide there is yet more information." Celeborn smiled at the looks on the womens faces.

"Another problem?" Denise inquired.

"Kind of." Elrond said. "Do you ladys realize that your ears are pointy?"

Heidi and Denise stared at them. "Y....Yes. We were born like this."

"Do many in your reality have pointy ears?"

"N..No. We were told that we were strange." Heidi whispered looking at the ground.

"You are half elves." Elrond said bluntly.

"How?"

"We exile elves to the Human World. One of them married your mothers therfore you are half elves." Elrond smiled at them.

"Wow. Just......wow." was all Heidi could manage.

"Amen to that." Denise muttered. "But we are not immortal."

"You are here. There you are mortal. You have a choice you may stay here and embrace your elven side. Or you can go and remain mortal." Celeborn told them.

The room got quiet as they awaited their decisions.
