April Showers

Lena slammed the door closed behind herself and peeled her wet hoodies from her body, throwing it over the back of a dining chair. She turned a light on before kicking her wet shoes off. The only thing worse than being caught in that horrible storm was coming home wet to an empty apartment. Travis was off doing something, who knows where and Stephanie was home visiting her family for break. With a long drawn sigh she headaed to the bathroom for a warm shower.

Half an hour later, Lena was warm, dry and happier as she slipped into loungers and a tank top. A glance out the window revealed the dark stormy sky which showed no sign of clearing. Next to the window, a poster of Legolas caught her attention, wow he was hot.. wait. Legolas.. was she missing the festival? How did time pass there? She sat down on her bed, closing her eyes, picturing the bedroom in Rivendell.

Her eyes opened to find her world changed again. She, herself, was changed again as well. She rose, looking at herself in a tall mirror which stood against one wall. Her dress was straight bodiced, a rich lush purple which came to a soft point at her waist. the skirt consisted of long satiny blue with sheer wisps of purples and blues falling over. embroidered flowers of the same blues crept ue boe bodice from the right up to her left breast where the wispy material met the bodice and fell in petals and curls around her arm like an off shoulder sleeve. Blue and purple ribbons were woven through her hair, trailing loosely at the end like colored locks of hair. Her eyelids were a deep purple and every bare inch of skin shimmered softly. "All I need are some hot heels.." she muttered to herself as she lifted the skirt to see her shoes. Soft leather ballet like slippers of deep purple with vine like laces.

A deep sigh came from the doorway, drawing her from her revery. "All you need are wings little pixie." Lena blushed at Legolas' words. Aragorn must have told him where to find her. He looked amazing himself, very princly, with his silver circlet and soft silver tunic.
"Has the festival started?" Surely it hadn't, he didn't seem too eager to be going.. He shrugged slightly. "Just barely, there is no rush." She nodded, looking in the mirror again. She looked like some faerie princess for a story book

Truth be told, she looked amazing. The last thing he wanted to do was be as hastey as he'd been the day before, but he had heard so much about her for so long. Never before had he willed himself to believe so much in a story, never had he fallen into like with such a girl. A girl he would never meet, she was as good as a dream from Travis' mind to him. Yet when he's stumbled upon her with Aragorn, he'd known immediately who she was, the mystery woman. It was easier to push a story girl out of sight and mind than a woman standing before you, in the flesh. In the flesh... he shook that line of thought from his head, he'd seen the kiss, however chaste, that she had bestowed Aragorn. No, he would have to ask Aragorn how to approach this, assuming Aragorn wouldn't laugh in his face and refuse to help him.

"We should go, the festival is just outside the city." Lena took Legolas' offered arm, but she had a hard time thinking of Rivendell as a city.. a park perhaps. She noticed they weren't the only ones heading out that way, although from the noise, it seemed most had already found their way to the clearing. About halfway, she came to realize that the remarkable scent she smelled was Legolas'. He smelled like the warm, damp earth right after the rain and the first flowers of spring. Unconsciously, she slid her hand down to take his, resting her head on his shoulder. She just couldn't help it and she knew he had to woman who might object to her behavior, it should just be a crime to smell that good.

Legolas was a bit startled at the intimacy of her behavior, but he wasn't about to shy away from her. As peaceful as their walk was though, as soon as they reached the festival's edge, they were pulled apart. The ladies drew Lena into their circle of flowers and giggles and left Legolas to go find his own fun with the men. Now would be a good time, Legolas decided, to ask Aragorn about Lena.

Legolas moved over to where Aragorn was leaning against a tree, watching the ladies go about their pre-festival primping. He really hoped Aragorn didn't take his questioning the wrong way. "Aragorn, I must ask you something, about Lena." Aragorn's posture straightened, Legolas didn't like the defensive stance he was now presented with. "Mani, Legolas?" Aragorn asked, turning his attention back toward the ladies before Legolas responded. "Aragorn, how would I go about wooing someone like Lena?" Legolas had Aragorn's attention alright. the attention of his fist was quite focused on Legolas' face. Gasps and murmers sprung as Legolas recoiled from Aragorn, holding his cheek. The look on the man's face warned that Legolas didn't want to try anything with him. Lena on the other hand, as soon as she realized what had happened, was at Legolas' side. "Come, lets keep that from swelling." As soon as she said it, she realized elves probably didn't swell and bruise when punched, it was the thought that counted right? And Legolas was allowing himself to be led..

Lena shook her head softly at Aragorn before leaving with Legolas.
