Mrs. Elijah Jordan Wood
Chapter 49
*Three Years Later*
"Mrs. Wood, you have a visitor." I heard over the intercom. I put down my pen and got up from my desk. I had another class in a few minutes and I wasn't in the mood to deal with anymore reporters and interviewers. Ever since the wedding I seemed to be the subject of interest, the world wanted to know every little detail about my husband. I smiled at that thought, three years later and I still smiled to think of Elijah and husband in the same sentence. I walked up to the front office and was pleasantly surprised to see Dom sitting in the corner, fedora and sunglasses on.
"Hi Luv, how are you?" He said, giving me a hug.
"Great, feeling better today...this morning was torture though, I was in the bathroom for hours." I smiled, "What brings you here?"
"I Wanted to check up on you's all. Can't have the future Dom Jr. messed with."
"Dom Jr.?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Well of course! What did you think you were going to name the little tike if it was a boy?"
"Well since it's a girl, I don't have to worry about that." I smiled.
"How do you know? You've not checked the sex." Dom frowned.
"A mother knows." We walked back down to my classroom and took a seat in my office. He'd brought lunch, so we were preoccupied with eating when I realized I had a few seconds before my students arrived. "Would you like to stick around? You're more than welcome to sit in on the class." My office was in the back of the classroom, and if he wanted, he could sit in here and watch. The students probably wouldn't have even noticed he was there.
"Sure, sounds fun." He threw our trash away and then followed me out to the front of the room and plopped himself down on my stool. As the students filed into the room, a few of them got wide eyed at the site of him, but sat down silently.
Once everyone was settled I cleared my throat. "Class as you can see we've got a special guest with us, Mr. Dominic Monaghan. I hope that this doesn't make you shy, because we're still going to be presenting our monologues today. So...I'm going to just go down the roll to call you....Jessica Adams."
Jessica stood up and walked to the front of the room....
"I'm a fan of chick flicks...the though of my very own Prince Charming is enough to set my heart racing. So when you sit down to watch a romantic movie with your boyfriend, and at the most romantic gushy part look over....and see him asleep...it's kind of disappointing. I remember my first "date"....I was twelve, and my father took me out to dinner and a movie. At the end when we got home, he gave me a kiss on the cheek and a rose. 'Jess.' he says to me, 'I hope the guy you find treats you as good as I treat you and your mother.' It was a sweet moment, one slightly spoiled when he smacked me in the head playfully as we walked into the house. Then I went to summer camp with my church youth group. I was nervous, it was my first trip with a church...and I didn't really know anyone in my group. Then I was assigned to a class separate from my church. I was scared to be alone, but soon made friends with one of the boys in my age class. We ate lunch together, attended the services together, and spent all of our free time together. He was a wonderful speaker, and was able to explain Bible passages that gave me pause. The week went by too quickly; I'd fallen in love with him. And I dreaded the day I had to leave, he didn't live anywhere near me. Before he left though, he said to me 'Jess, I shall always be with you, when you're happy, when you're sad, and when you think you're alone...you'll always have me to turn to.' He gave me a kiss on my forehead, and helped me climb into the bus to take our youth group home. The entire drive home all I could think of was him...I missed him dearly. But he was true to his word, and when we pulled up to the church parking lot, he extended his hand and helped me off the bus. I'd found my knight in shining armor...and his love was divine and eternal."
Jessica nodded to me slightly and returned to her seat as her peers clapped. "That was excellent Jess!"
"It was very good." Dom smiled, causing Jessica to blush and the other girls to giggle. He flashed his trademark grin and winked. I was about to whisper something to him when I suddenly felt pressure in my chest. I sat down, seeing stars and placed a hand on my swollen belly. "Luv...Are you alright?" He along with some of my students jumped up.
I nodded no. I'd been told that even though I wasn't a high risk pregnancy that I could go into labor up to four weeks early...and it looks like they were right.
