Dressing the Fair Maiden
Chapter 43
"Okay....breathe...breathe...in and out...that’s it...just like you were taught...See this is going to be easy!"
"Oh will you stop that!" I snapped playfully. "You're going to make me go insane."
"Does this dress make me look fat?"
"Dom!" I re-hung the dress I had been looking at and walked over to where Dom was standing. He'd been holding a favorite of mine, and decided to slip the hanger over his head and hold the dress up to himself. "No, it looks very nice on you."
"Well I'd like to see you finally go try it on Luv." He handed it to me and pushed me towards the dressing room. I don't know why I'd asked Dom to go dress shopping with me; Elijah was in Europe working on another project and told me to buy any dress I wanted. I was having trouble picking out ones I liked, so invited Dom for a second opinion. He was quite a bundle of entertainment, and actually had a very good eye for styles. I slipped the dress on and adjusted it before stepping back into the main store room.
"Well?" I fiddled with the skirts and turned in a circle. The gown that had caught my eye first was beautiful. It was almost fairylike to me. The sleeves were snug fitting until they got to the elbows, then became light and flowing. The bodice was beautiful; a boat neck collar with lace going down the front to the beautiful lace skirt. There wasn't a train for the skirt, but it was slightly longer than me, and the back dragged the ground a bit.
"Beautiful." Dom grinned, and then bowed low. "A fit dress for any fair maiden."
I laughed and curtsied. "I'm going to get this one."
"So soon to make a decision Milady?" Dom smiled.
"Yes. I love it." I laughed when he suddenly pulled out his mobile.
He punched in a number and smiled. "Hey man...yeah...nope, first shop and first dress...yeah...hold on." He held up the phone and took a picture with the camera. "Got it...? Yeah I know...yeah...hold on." He held his hand over the speaker and pointed the window to me. I could see a picture of Elijah with is thumbs up smiling. I laughed and returned to the dressing room to change.
"Hey, Sarah?" Dom called through the door.
"Yes?"
"Hungry?"
"Dom we had breakfast three hours ago!"
"Well it’s time for Second Breakfast!" Dom hissed through the door.
"Okay....breathe...breathe...in and out...that’s it...just like you were taught...See this is going to be easy!"
