Chapter 41

Four day's later I was moving around a lot better. Billy was allowed to move a bit, but not so much. He hadn't been out of bed the entire time he'd been admitted to the hospital. I was listening to the Muse CD Elijah had given me when my agent walked in.

"Heya hun, how are you doing?" Meredith asked.

"Better, ready to get out of here though." I offered her the empty seat, Dom had to run to the loo after trying to beat me at a milk drinking contest. "I'm glad you're here, I've wanted to know about the film."

"Well Sarah that's why I'm here." Meredith looked upset. "Listen, with all that's happened, the filming was canceled. The studios pulled the funding, since the two leads were unavailable. The project's been picked up by another production company, and they've cast new people."

"What?"

"I'm sorry hun; I can't do anything about it." She stood up and gave me a gentle hug, "Listen, I'll call you as soon as you're released. We'll set some things up." She walked out, almost bumping into Dom on his way in. "Sorry Mr. Monaghan, excuse me."

Seeing my tears he sat on my bed next to me. "Was that Meredith?"

All I could do was nod. I was going to have a breakdown...I knew it. Dom looked over to Billy, "The movie has been scrapped; another studio picked it up and has been re-cast."

"Oh my God, Sarah Luv I'm so sorry." He pulled me into a hug, and then ran to get Elijah who'd gone outside for a quick smoke.

'I'm going to hafta break him of that I think.' Was my thought as Elijah came in slightly breathless. "Oh God hun I'm sorry." He sat down and took my hand. "Do you want me to get you anything?"

"Sure, can you smuggle a pint in?" I smiled.

Billy sat up, "Now yer talkin' lass. I'll have one as well."

"Are you sure about that Billy?" Elijah asked from the door.

"I've never been more sure in me life." He crossed his arms in front of him and smirked. Elijah shrugged his shoulders and went to the drug store to by our pints. Ten minutes later he returned with a bag, walking over to Billy first he plopped a pint of Ben and Jerry's Strawberry ice cream in his lap. Mine was Mint Chocolate Chip. "What in devil's name is this? Where's my pint lad?" Billy was lost for a sec, and then grinned. "Ah well I walked into this 'ne didn't I?"

I saluted him with a spoonful of ice cream and winked. "Cheers mate" I imitated him, which got a chuckle from us all.

"So what are you going to do now?" Dom asked. Elijah kicked him in the leg. "What, it’s a legit question."

"Yes it is," I paused. "Well...the movie is over for me, but Meredith wants to get me back out there as soon as possible."

"Probably for the best lass." Billy said through his pint.

"I'm going to tell her no." I stated.

"What?" Elijah exclaimed. "Don't judge acting by this one bad experience, it's not like this in a normal situation."

I smiled. "It's not that. I enjoyed what little I got to do." I paused. "But there are just so many other things out there. I got a teaching certificate in Drama, maybe I could teach at a high school. That would be so much fun for me, I love teaching."

"That would be a great thing for you to do." Dom said. Billy nodded in agreement.

"What do you think Elijah?" I asked.

"I think I could stand having a Drama teacher around, anything to help Dom here." He laughed and dodged Dom’s thrown lollipop stick.
