Disclaimer:
I do not own the Lord of the Rings (and associated) book series, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Practice
Okay, first: what I said was that though I have no plans to continue, I will most likely give it a major re-doing since I really have no plot ideas.
Anon: As glad as I am that you liked it thus far, sorry to stop. No real plot is forming. That makes it a little difficult to write. If you have any suggestions on where I should take this, feel free to mail me, I'd be happy to continue.
Lady Lynet ap Evyn: Hey, sorry, but this was just a way to clear my mind while working on other stuff.
Anyway, this chapter is up because, yeah, I need to clear my mind again.

"Good! Very good, Timpi," Haldir said, picking up the little arrow that he had given Legolas as part of the child's archery toy. Though the arrows were real enough, they had been dulled to a blunt tip, so they would only bounce off of the target and not hurt anyone should there be a drastic miss. Legolas' latest try had landed in the ring just outside of the centre.
Celeborn was watching from the side of the small archery field, smiling. "Perhaps you can one day join the patrols, Legolas."
Legolas grinned, and Haldir picked him up. The target was only about five feet from where Legolas had been standing, but it was still impressive to see how quickly Legolas was mastering the bow.
"Can I play again later?" Legolas asked, holding the seemingly tiny bow in one hand and the little makeshift quiver in the other. "When the big Elves are done?"
"We'll see," Celeborn answered, picking up one of the arrows that had fallen.
Legolas pouted and Haldir laughed. "Why don't I teach you how to fix your own arrows first?"
Legolas nodded eagerly, "Can you sing to me too?"
"Maybe."
There was a small breakfast set out for them when they reached Haldir's talan. It was not unusual for Haldir to take Legolas out to the early practices to let the child watch him, though this meant that Legolas had to be awake before dawn. Galadriel, of course, had gotten used to her husband and foster child missing breakfast and knew that they would go to Haldir's home to return the toy bow before doing anything else.
Legolas watched curiously as Haldir poured wine for himself and Celeborn. "What is that?"
"Wine," Haldir answered, picking up another smaller glass anurinuring Legolas some milk from the little bottle on the tray. "And before you ask; no, you may not have any."
"Why not?"
Celeborn smiled, "Because it is not healthy for you."
"But you drink it."
"We're old."
Legolas made a face, "Why isn't it healthy for me?"
"Because."
Knowing that he wasn't going to get any other answer from the two, Legolas turned to another topic. "What's wine made from?"
"Uhm...grapes..was it?" Haldir said, looking to Celeborn for confirmation. Celeborn nodded.
"But if it's made from grapes, and grapes are good for me, why isn't wine good for me?"
"Just because."
Legolas sat quietly as he sipped his milk in an immitation of how Celeborn was drinking his wine. Haldir cut up one of the apples of the tray and put three pieces in front of Legolas. "Eat."
Legolas stuck out his tongue but obeyed. Haldir smiled and ruffled the much younger blonde's hair. "When we're done, I'll take you to the river to swim."
Celeborn chuckled as Legolas eagerly nodded and ate.

Glorfindel paced Elrond's study before falling into one of the large chairs. "I don't understand. Something's wrong."
Elrond raised an eyebrow, "Oh?"
"Thranduil is troubled, but he won't tell me why. He changes the subject whenever I ask."
"Have you ever considered that he may just be distracted?"
"From what?"
Elrond shrugged and smiled. "Who can tell with him."

Again, sorry to leave you with this, but no real plot ideas. Mail if you have any suggestions if you want.
