Laying his quill down Melpomaen once again looked out side where the rain seemed to be coming down harder than it had a couple minutes before. It looked like the beginning of a bad storm. The wind had picked up earlier and Lord Elrond had everyone on high alert. Most people where helping where they could, while he and Erestor where making sure that things ran smoothly as possible.

Sighing Melpomaen signed his name on the paper and placed on the desk where it was easily spotted. He really didn't have time to waste at moment. Grabbing his clock he wrapped it tightly around his shoulders, before exciting the Glorfindel and his room.

Melpomaen made his way through the hallways stopping every once in a while to direction to confused elf who seemed to forget what they where suppose to be doing.. Making it to the door Melpomaen opened it only to be almost knocked off his feet as the wind and rain rushed past him. Quickly stepping outside Melpomaen closed the door behind him as started to trudge down wards. He had been heading towards the stables since he heard that they needed more help down there from someone who had passed by.

Stumbling Melpomaen tried to steady himself as the wind whipped his hair around, becoming even more stronger by the minute. Blinking rapidly Melpomaen finally was able to see the stables clearly through all the rain and the wind. Clenching his teeth together Mel finally entered the stables. he brushed his hair back as he looked around. What had been down before looked very pitiful and at the moment no one was there and the horses looked quiet spooked. Scowling at the poor work Mel got to work fixing everything up and making sure that horse would be ok for the night.

He was about done when he heard a crackling sound and felt a sharp intense pain run through his body, before everything went black

Glorfindel hurried through the halls pushing his way through the frighten elves. He had just gotten the portal back in time, before the storm had gotten any worse than it had been. Spotting Erestor shouting out orders Glorfindel made his way through the crowd as he approached Erestor.

"Erestor, where is Melpomaen?" Glorfindel asked as he looked around.

"I do not know, we were both given different orders. Last time I saw him he was head back to your room. Why do you not check there? Oh and Glorfindel if you find him, please tell him I would much appreciate some help." Erestor stated not taking his eyes off what was going on.

"Thanks Erestor"

"Your Welcome Glorfindel! No, No, your fool not like that..." Erestor shouted as he ran over to the elf and fix the problem.

Glorfindel quickly made his way to Mel and his room hoping that Melpomaen might be close by. Entering their room he frantically looked around as he called out his husbands name. Searching around the room Glorfindel finally came across a small note in Mel's scroll. Quickly scanning it Glorfindel cured as he sprinted out of the room forgetting about the note which now lay abandon on the floor.

Glorfindel sprinted down the halls as he made his ways to the entrance that lead out side. He grabbed the door handle only to have another hand slam over it. Stopping him from going outside. Looking up he was about to give the elf a piece of his mind when he came to face with Lord Elrond himself.

"Where do you think your going Glorfindel?!? It is too dangerous out there. Everyone is meeting in the Hall of Fire and so must we." Elrond sternly stated.

"Elrond...I need to go out there. Melpomaen is out there!!!" Glrofindel stated trying to open the door.

"Glorfindel, the doors are locked. I am sorry... Mellon-nin" Stated Elrond as he warily looked at the door as if it was possessed by the Dark Lord him self.

Pounding his fist against the locked door Glorfindel leaned his forehead against the door as dread sweep over him. His little mate was out there all alone and most likely hurt and there was nothing he could do about it. He never felt so completely useless or helpless as he did now. Stiffening he looked at Elrond as anger washed over him.

"Elrond...Mel better be alright, or I swear there will be hell to pay." stated Glorfindel as he walked towards the Hall of Fire, with each step feeling heavier.

Mean while back in the stables the small figure shivered as he laid there still unconscious unaware of the storm that brewed around him.

Part 2

Pacing back and forth Glorfindel snarled as he waited for the doors to be opens. His once neat hair was now tangled and in disaray. He had not slept a wink at all that night and had to be tied to a chair just to be kept in the room. At the moment all he could think about was little husband and how he was fairing out in the storm. The Storm had just got worst during the night to the point where he almost broke the door done to go find Mel, but Erestor and Elrond had pulled him back. Finally in the early morning the storm broke and had calmed down and passed on over their small valley.

He was miserable, but at least he was not the only one. Elrond and Erestor had been up all night too mostly to keep him from leaving the room, but he got great satisfaction of the guilt that Elrond was currently having. Erestor when he found out that Mel had still outside had thrown a huge fit and had yelled at Elrond four three hours straight, while Elrond did what any normal elf would do. He allowed it to happen and boy did it happen. Some of the words that Erestor had said made even him, Glorfindel blush and he had heard almost all of them.

Growling Glorfindel looked at the door and then stared at Elrond and repeated the action hoping that he would get the hint and open the freaken door, before he used his fist to so.

"Elrond, it is morning. The storm is over. Now open the damn door!" Glorfindel Snarled as he watch Erestor move silently in the background as he gave Elrond the look.

"Ok, Ok I will open the door. Be patient Glorfindel I can only go so fast and yes I know you do not have any more patients left." Elrond muttered as he finally unlocked the last locks so they could get to the outside.

"Hurry up El, or I just might cause you pain tonight."Hissed Erestor as he bounce slightly near the door where he could easily exit as fast as his dark robes would carry him.

"Finally, there it is open. Now I will get my medical bag and Glorfindel and you Erestor can start the search. I won't be long and I will try to find you as soon as possible."

Glorfindel waved his hand as he escaped through the door and sprinted out side to come to a complete halt as he took in the destruction. There was limbs everywhere and many of the statues where thrown down to there side. His eyes widen as he took in all in before he hurried off to try an find his little husband who had to be out there somewhere. The whole time he was praying to every Valar he knew that Mel would be all right.

~*~ Two Hours Later ~*~

Glorfindel marched up as he stepped over branches and limb as he made his way to where Elrond and Erestor where having a heated discussion.

"Elrond we have looked everywhere, and we have started another search party. What you did was not only foolish, but heartless as well. You left Mel out here during the whole Storm and now no one knows where he is much less if he is...if he is... I cannot even say. Elrond what were you thinking." Erestor ranted as he leaned forward.

"I wasn't. I assumed that Mel was just around and that maybe Glorfindel and I were wrong, but I should of known better." Elrond whispered as he smacked his hand against his forehead and dragged it down wards in a slow suffering way. "Hopefully Glorfindel has found him...." Elrond muttered as he rubbed the bridge of his nose which usually showed the sign of upcoming headache.

"I am sorry, but I have had no such luck. I had hope that you two might have found him and this would all be just one big nightmare." Glorfindel sighed as he felt more of his hope to find Mel alive slip away.

"Do not worry Glrofindel we will find him and he will be fine. Mel is stronger than he looks and you should know that after all he is your husband. You should know just as much as my own husband should..." Erestor finished as he sent Elrond the look again.

"Well let us go over where we have checked and see if we have missed any place." Elrond stated as he ignored Erestor.

"I checked down by the rivers and ever crook and hiding spot that Mel enjoys to go when he want to scare me." Glorfindel stated.

"I have checked the training area and the cave he likes so much." Erestor replied.

"And I checked the other side where we have the storage shed for extra food, and weaponry is place, but where haven't we checked."

"So what are we missing, we have to other groups checking around, and we have check all his favorite places that he enjoys out side. What have we missed?"

And as if struck by thunder they both looked at each other.

"The Stables!!!" Glorfindel shouted as he turned around and headed in the direction of the stables as he heard Erestor and Elrond follow close behind. How could he forget how much time Mel tended to spend with the horses especially his horse who seemed to be spoiled rotten by his mate. Turning the corner his heart plummeted to the ground as he looked at the sight of the stables. There was big piece of wood in front of the entrance and the roof was not in good shape.

"Glorfindel there is no time to waste. What if Mel is in there...." Erestor stated as he practically dove into the entrance yelling Mel's name.

Snapping out of his stance Glorfindel hurried in after Erestor as he searched around the room yelling out Mel's name. He suddenly froze when he heard Erestor shriek Mel's name at the top of his lungs as he heard Erestor break into broken sobs.

"Mel, sweetie... wake up.. it is ok... Mel we are here...Come on Wake up..." Erestor whispered as Glorfindel followed Erestor's voice which continued to break into sobs as he muttered words. Stepping up to Erestor, Glorfindel felt his knees buckle as he scooped his little husband into his arms...

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no... Please baby...Mel, My heart... Please wake up, Please be okay....I can't lose you." Glorfindel muttered as tears slowly slid down his face. "Please Mel, don't leave me... I cannot live with out you.."

Taking a deep breath Glorfindel lifted his battered mate as he swiftly made his way to healing room while he heard Elrond speaking to him, but at the moment he could not understand what was going on.

Entering the healing room he laid his mate down as his breath hiked and tears where freely running down his face as his took in his husbands condition. Whipping the tears away he sat down an cradled Mel's uninjured hand placing kisses and cooing soothing words to Mel, hoping that it would get through to his little love.

"Please my heart, I cannot loose you... do not leave me. I just cannot survive without you. I will not... I promise if you pass on. I will follow you. Because a life without you is not a life at all." Glorfindel tenderly stated as he looked at Mel's pale body on the bed. Wincing at the shallow breathing and the blood soaked hair.

"You just have live My heart. I know you are stronger than people see you... So please do not leave me. I could not survive loosing you."

Part 3
________________________________________________________________________________________
As Elrond entered the healing rooms he stared sadly at Glorfindel who was still cradling Mel's hand. Glorfindel had not moved since he had left the room a couple hours ago. It been like this since they had found Melpomaen in the stables clearly unconscious and badly hurt. Glorfindel had only left Mel's side to freshen up and relieve himself. He was worried about his friend and hoped dearly that Mel would wake soon.

"How fares our patient Glorfindel?" Elrond asked finally breaking the silence.

"Mel seems to have gained some of his color back." replied Glorfindel not even looking up.

"Good, I feel that he shall wake soon. Have patience mellon-nin. Melpomaen is a lot stronger that he seems he won't let something like this break him. I will be back with Mel's tea."

"I hope you are right Elrond. I do not know how much more I can take." Replied Glorfindel as he stoked Mel's uninjured hand.

"He well Glorfindel. I know it." Elrond stated as he left the rooms.
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Glorfindel's eyes traveled down Mel's form as he took it all in. It had been a week since the storm a week since they had found his husband in the sables and many more days sense he had heard his mates voice. He missed being able to listen to Mel talk or laugh as they cuddled on their bed. He missed the way Mel's eyes would light up when he was happy or up to something. But most of all he missed being able to kiss Mel at night and fall asleep with Mel next to him.

"Lirimaer, I miss you. It has been many night sense I have seen your smile or have heard your laughter. Please do not give up hope. You are stronger than that. I know you are. You cannot leave Mel-nin, please remember your promise." Glorfindel stated as brought Mel's hand up and laid a gentle kiss on it, before putting down upon Mel's chest.

Sighing, Glorfindel got up and stretched as he headed towards the rest rooms. After relieving himself he splashed some water on his face pausing Glorfindel quickly rushed out as he heard noise in Mel's room that was clearly not Erestor or Elrond.

Coming to complete halt in the door way Glorfindel's eyes widen as he took in the view which was in front of him. There was Mel as he had been before he left, but one major change he was awake. Melpomaen his sweet scribe was at long last was awake.

"Fin...?" Mel croaked out as his eyes looked around in confusion.

"Mel, you are awake." Glorfindel rushed over to his lover kneeling down as he placed kiss after kiss upon his sweet one's face.

"You are awake, you are awake praised the Valar, you are awake...!"

"What is going on here.... I can here you all the way down in the library.. are you trying to awake the dead..?" Erestor said as he tried to catch his breath as he looked to the bed where Glorfindel was holding an awake Mel. His eyes widen as he looked at Melpomaen. "Praised the Valar indeed... Melpomaen I am so glad to see you awake." Erestor stuttered his last words as his emotions seem to swarm him. He was over joyed to see Mel awake. "I am glad that you are awake Mel. I mean we were worried about you pen-neth." Erestor whispered as he sat on the other side of a very confused Mel. Hugging the Mel lightly so as not to cause him anymore pain Erestor sighed in relief knowing that Mel, who he saw as a son was finally on the road to recovery.

"What is going on in here?" An confused Elrond asked as he broke out into a huge grin at the sight of Mel.

"Welcome, back pen-neth. it is really good to see you a wake. You gave us all quiet a scare there Mel. Now I think that it is time for you to drink some tea." Elrond replied as watched as Glorfindel and Erestor prop Mel up much to the confusion of the bed ridden elf.

"Here let me." Glrofindel said quickly as he took the tea from Elrond and placed it to his husband's lips. "Mel, you need to drink this to regain your strength." Glorfindel whispered as he kissed his husband's brow.

"Why do I need to drink..." Mel hoarsely stated as he was cut off by the horrible tasting liquid being forced down his throat. "Gah... that is horrible...Why did you make me drink..."

Mel finally finished the tea much to the amusement to the occupants in the room. But no sooner had he finished it did he fall asleep.

Smiling Glorfindel laid his husband back down as he tucked him in gently making sure Mel would be completely warm.

"Mel, is now in a healing sleep. we are going to have to give him the herbal tea every few hours and in not time he should be able to go back to your rooms, but not until I say so." Elrond stated giving Glorfindel a stern look.

"And as for you Glorfindel. I want you to retire to your room and sleep. And for crying out load take a bath and clean your self up. That is not an suggestion it is an order."

"What if Mel wakes up? I want to, be there for him." Glorfindel stated as he glared at Elrond who just raised an eye brow at him, as if he were one of twins who had just down something terribly naughty.

"Erestor and I will be taking shifts. Mel will not be alone at all even if we have to bring our work here. Plus you well do Mel no good if you are over exhausted and smelly." Elrond stated as his nose wrinkled at the last word.

"Fine, but if Mel ask for me you well wake me right?" Glorfindel ask as he admitted defeat. he was exhausted and he did smell. He also trusted Erestor and Elrond with Mel and knew that they would do what was best for Mel.

Getting up Glorfindel laid one more kiss on Mel's cheek before heading towards Mel and his room to get a much needed bath and then retire to go to sleep.

Part Four
______________________________________________________________________________________
Melpomaen watched as his husband scurried around the room from the bed. At the moment he doing some work that he had gotten from Erestor after telling him that he would go insane if he didn't get something to do and soon. Glorfindel had not been pleased by it, but it in the end he had won and was able to keep his work as long as there not that much.

He loved his husband he really did, but since he had been released from the healing wards Glorfindel had been hovering and it was starting to drive him insane. He had been released just a couple weeks ago, and had been barely able to lift a finger much less get out of bed to relieve himself without Glorfindel freaking out. He had finally heard what happen even though he was told only little bit of the facts he had been told he had been out cold for an entire week before he had awaken.

Come to think about it everyone had been acting differently around him. Sitting up Melpomaen placed his papers to the side as he slowly slid off the bed and made his way to the rest room. he had almost made it there when he felt two arms surround him and pull him back into a firm chest.

"Melpomaen! What do you think you are doing? You need to take it easy. You just got out of the healing wards." Glorfindel stated clearly worried by the tone of his voice. "Here let me help you."

Taking a deep breath Mel tried to calm down, although it was very hard considering that he felt like he was going to snap at any second now.

"Glorfindel, I can do this on my own. I do not need your help with this small thing. I am just going to relieve myself." Mel stated as he tried to keep his voice as calm as possible and not blow up at Glrofindel.

"Mel. I do not want you to hurt yourself so soon after getting out of the healing wards."

"One. Glorfindel, I am just going to the rest room and two I have been out of the healing wards for two weeks. I think I can manage a small task such as this without your constant hovering." Stated Mel as he mentally take the words back as he saw hurt flash across his face.

"Well if you find my hovering so annoying then maybe I should leave. I am sorry that I care about you Melp-o-maen." Snapped Glrofindel as he stormed out.

"Glorfindel, wait." 'SLAM' "Wha..why are you acting this way... I just do not understand you sometimes Glorfindel." Melpomaen sniffled as he felt tears slide down his face. Whipping his eyes Melpomaen quickly finished his business and went in search for Erestor. If anyone could help him with his problems when they got this bad it was Erestor. After all it was always good to have another opinion.
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Storming down the halls Glorfindel scowled as he thought of the little spat that he and Mel just had. Entering Elrond's office Glorfindel slammed the door shut causing Elrond to jump.

"Glorfindel shouldn't you be with Mel at the moment... come tell me what is bothering you." Elrond stated seeing the hurt and anger flash across his friend's face at the mention of Mel's name.

Turning to Elrond, Glorfindel paused for a second, before he started to ranting and raving about what happened and how worried he was about Melpomaen. Especially with the fact that he felt that Mel was pushing himself to hard. Finally finishing Glorfindel flopped down in the arm chair that was in front of Elrond's desk.

"I do not know what to do Elrond. I am scared out of my mind that if Mel keeps pushing himself like he is now. He will end up getting hurt again. I have run out of ideas on how to deal with it. What should I do?"

"It seems to me mellon-nin that this time you are in the wrong. Now before you interrupt let me get out what I need to say." Elrond stated as he starred at his shocked friend. "From what I hear you are extremely terrified that Mel might hurt himself so soon after getting out of the healing wards. But from what I hear from you also is that you are not allowing Mel to move about and get back to his routine that he so used too. I know that you worry mellon-nin, but if Mel doesn't know why you are acting this way than he might lash out. Mel seems to be frustrated that you are not treating him like your husband and mate and treating more like a little elfling that needs help. Maybe if you try to explain to him why you have been acting this way. Mel will be more understanding and won't lash out so easily." Elrond replied as he watched his friend sit back and process what he had just said.

"Maybe you are right Elrond, hannon le." Glrofindel stated as he got up and headed for the door. "I think I will take a walk, before I go back to face Mel."

"Yes will do not kill my door on the way out please. The door did not do anything to you so treat it with respect" Elrond called out as his eyes dance merrily.

'slam'
________________________________________________________________________________________

Melpomaen poked his head into the door and slowly sneaked in as he awaited to be acknowledge.

"Mel...What can I help you with?" Erestor stated as he finally looked up. "Come, come sit down. I do not want you pushing yourself to hard."

Getting up Erestor directed a startle Mel to two arm chairs next to the fire place. As he took his seat he observed Mel's posture and his face. "Pen-neth, what is wrong? Tell me so I can help." Erestor said calmly as he cursed Glorfindel's name to Mordor and back. Mel looked extremely guilty and his posture was that of someone who was about to crack.

Melpomaen looked as he smiled thankful for Erestor's friendship and guidance. Taking a deep breath he started telling Erestor what had happened and what lead up to where he was now. How he was completely bewildered by how Glorfindel was acting and treating him.

"Erestor, I just became so frustrated and snapped. I did not mean to hurt his feelings, but I could not stand one more moment of him treating me like I was an elfling in need of care. I am his husband and I wish he would teat me as such." Sighing Melpomaen felt a little better to get the problem off his chest. "I am sorry to bother you with my small problems and such, but I do not know what to do. I need some ideas and I thought you would be the best choice."

"What ...not Elrond..." Erestor teased Mel as he watched Mel turn an interesting shade of red that he had yet to see on the young scribes face.

"Well... no.. I could of asked Elrond, but Glorfindel doesn't know I left the room and I trust your words Erestor.."

"Don't worry pen-neth. I was just teasing you. I know that you trust both Elrond and my advice. Now let us see if we can come up with why Glorfindel is acting like a even more annoying blond streak than usually." Erestor teased. Which caused Melpomaen to giggle madly.

"You know pen-neth. The best advice I can give you at the moment is to go back and talk this out with your husband. I know that is not much, but it does work wonders." Erestor stated.

"Hannon-le Erestor, you are the best." Mel stated as he jumped up and gave Erestor a quick hug.

"Your welcome, Mel and do over push your self Pen-neth." Erestor shouted after the small scribe who was now long gone.

Part Five
_____________________________________________________________________________________
Exiting the room, Melpomaen released deep breath of relief as he straighten out his robes and glided down the hall. Erestor as always gave the best advice when it was needed and when it wasn't. Truly smiling for once in the last couple days Mel mad his way back to his and Glorfindel's room. Meditating over the things that had currently happened in his life Mel came to an conclusion that it was important that he and Glorfindel needed to sit down and have a long discussion.

Reaching his room Mel opened the door frowning at the unusual sight in front of in front of him. There was Glorfindel on their bed hunched over with his face cradled in his hands. He looked overly tired and pulled downed by unforeseen force.

"Glorfindel... are you ok?" Mel cautiously questioned as he silently shut the door behind him.

"Your back..." Glorfindel muttered. Lifting his head Glorfindel tiredly ran his hands through his golden main.

"Yes, I am... Glorfindel I think that we need to talk..." Melpomaen cautiously replied as he looked at his husband.

"Yes I agree we really need do need to talk." Glorfindel replied as he got up and headed to their small lounge area where he hope they could have some privacy. Turning around he opened the door that separated the bed room from the lounge area.

Breathing deeply Mel followed his husband out the room as he sat down in one of the chairs that was in front of the fire place. He did not know how anything was going to go during the conversation. Gliding over Mel sat down comfortably in one of the chairs Mel waited for his husband to join him next to the fire place. Curiously and mildly amused Mel watched as Glorfindel paced back and forth muttered to himself as if he was trying to prep himself for something that he was not prepared to do.

"Mel... I have done a lot of thinking after the little explosion that happened. I have come to an conclusion and I was at the wrong... I shouldn't of snapped at you." Glorfindel replied as he stopped pacing and looked at his little mate.

"Glorfindel, that is all good and all, but what is it that you are exactly sorry about. Are you sorry about that little spat. Are you sorry about how you've been over coddling me. Are you sorry about the way you have been treating me..." Mel ranted as he held up a hand when he saw Glorfindel was about to interrupt. "No I am not done yet Glorfindel. I love you... I really do... but I cannot take the way you have been treating me. I feel more like an elfling being cuddled after they have been hurt, then your husband right now. You know that I am better, and yet you treating me as if I were made out of glass and will break at any moment. I just want you to treat me as your equal and husband again and not someone who is invalid." Mel firmly replied as he lead his husband to the chair and pushed him down so Glorfindel was looking at him and he knew that his husband was hearing what he had to say.

Pausing Glorfindel opened his mouth and shut again as he could not think of what to say. Mel was right he had been treat him differently since the accident and it was not fair to Melpomaen to be treated any less than his equal. It also did not help Mel recover from the accident either. Right then and there he knew what he had to do.

"Mel, I am truly sorry... You are right about me treating you like an elfling, and not like my equal. I should be treating you better and shouldn't be reminded. Your my husband, and my soul mate and in all manners my perfect partner in all ways." Glorfindel reached out and pulled Mel onto his lap while he encircled his little mate in his arms.

"No, no, no...Mel you had your turn to talk and now it is my turn to talk." Glorfindel whispered as he rub Mel's thigh. "Mel, In all my years I have seen many terrifying and gruesome thing, but when I found you in cold, bleeding, and broken on ground in the stable. I swore that my heart would stop. I was never more terrified than I had been when finding you there. I thought that I might lose you and I could not of lived with that." Glorfindel whispered into Mel's hair as he stroked it.

"Glorfindel, baby...It is going to be ok. I am fine and I survived didn't I? You need to start putting a little more faith in me and start trusting me... After all I am not only your mate, but I am also Erestor personal assistance and lets face it you have to be strong to deal with you two..." Mel smirked at Glorfindel's outraged face.

"Why you little imp..." Glorfindel shockingly replied as swung Mel over his should and headed towards his room. "I do believe my little mate that I need to teach you a little lesson."

"And what is that... how cute your ass is at this angle..." Mel teased as he yelp when Fin's hand came across his backside.

"You well just have to find out " Glorfindel grumbled as he slammed the door to their bed room.
