Chapter 4
The first weeks, Erestor came to Glorfindel’s bed every night. Whenever he tried to sleep alone, dark thoughts clouded his mind. Only in his blond warrior’s embrace, he would find some rest. When those strong arms were holding him, he felt safe. When he put his head at the well musceled chest, he felt warm. When he smelled the unique scent of Glorfindel’s hair, he felt loved. Loved... oh, how he wished this could be true, that Glorfindel would return his feelings, but Erestor knew, it was not love that made the warrior hold him at night – well at last not the kind of love, Erestor dreamed of. But when Glorfindel looked at him, there was no desire in his eyes, only sympathy and friendship.
//Maybe if he gets to know me better, he will fall in love with me. I have to be patient...//
And so Erestor waited...
It was late in the evening and Glorfindel had readied to get into bed. When he laid down under the warm blankets, his gaze shifted towards the door of the guest room, knowing fully well, what would happen next. A few seconds later, there was a small knock at the door and his silent friend entered the room.
// I shouldn’t encourage him in this, but it seems he still suffers from his traumatic experience on the sea...// Glorfindel thought and lifted the blanket slightly with a nod of his head. He earned a grateful smile from the dark haired elf, who quickly slipped in the warm bed and snuggled up to him. For a second, Glorfindel shuddered.
//Valar! Why is he always so cold. I never heard of an elf with such a low body temperature.//
When his silent companion sighed in contentment, Glorfindel laughed and put his arm around the slender waist.
“Oh pen dínen, there’s no use telling you, that you have a whole bed and a big blanket all to yourself, hmm? You insist sharing mine.”
He looked into the other elfs face to make sure, his friend had understood that he was just jesting. Apparently, that was the case for those wondrous green-blue eyes sparkled with mirth. Glorfindel suddenly felt, as if he was drowning in the ocean and couldn’t tear his gaze from the dark elf’s face. When his eyes wandered down to the luscious red lips, he realised in horror, that his body was reacting. For a moment, he was tempted to steal a kiss, or maybe more. He didn’t even realise, that he had subconciously come closer to that sweet face before him. Only when he could feel the other elf’s breath against his skin, he came to his senses again and withdrew.
“I’m sorry, pen dínen, er... it seems, I forgot... er...something... in the bathroom!” And he left the bed and the room quickly.
Erestor sighed in frustration. That had been so close. For a short moment, he could have sworn, Glorfindel had wanted to kiss him. But this meant, there was hope, didn’t it. Maybe he had to wait not very much longer – and this thought made him smile.
Short time later, Glorfindel returned from the bathroom and got in his bed again. He opened his arms and Erestor moved into the embrace, his pointed ear over the warriors heart – their usual sleeping position. But before they both fell asleep, Glorfindel said:
“Oh, I almost forgot – I’ve got news for you. Gil Galad will return! The messenger said, he will leave Lorien in two days, that means he should be here next week. Oh, I’m so happy, he finally returns. You’ll see, Lindon is another place, when he’s around. We really couldn’t wish for a better ruler. Ereinion, eh, I mean King Gil Galad is a wonderful elf – in every way. You will like him, I know. You simply have to. His friendly eyes will capture you as well, as they captured me... and his kindness. But don’t think him weak, because of his gentleness. He’s a fierce warrior, maybe one of the best swordsman in this world. So strong...”
Glorfindel sighed and his eyes became vacant as he drifted into the realm of dreams. Erestor however couldn’t sleep that night.
True to the messengers words, the Highking Gil Galad arrived about a week later in Lindon and suddenly, the place really started to change. It felt, as if pure energy flowed through the halls and corridors of the palace. Everyone was busy, Lindon seemed to be sheer bursting with activity. But it was no unpleasant feeling, quite the opposite.
It was in the afternoon of the second day after the kings arrival, when Glorfindel came looking for Erestor in the garden. The dark elf was surprised to see his warrior at that particular time of the day, normally Glorfindel should now be training the soldiers.
“Hello, pen dínen, I hope I don’t disturb you, but I was told to bring you to the king!”
Erestor gasped. That was the moment, he had been frightened of the whole last week. What if the king didn’t want him to stay? What if he had to leave the kingdom? Where would he go then?
Hesitantly he got up from the ground he had been sitting on. Glorfindel seemed to sense his troubled thoughts for he reached out to him and took his hand.
“No need to be afraid, pen dínen, trust me. He is such a kind elf, you have nothing to worry about.”
When they reached the great hall, Glorfindel felt the dark elf’s reluctance to enter. He squeezed the small hand in assurance and then simply dragged his friend inside with him. In the middle of the hall on his throne sat the high-king Ereinion Gil Galad. As always, the sight of the royal elf didn’t fail to have its effects on Glorfindel. He looked into the kind brown eyes, not for the first time wishing they would give him a sign, that he could dare to approach his king in a different way.
//Valar, how I long to be his!// Glorfindel thought. But then he remembered his silent friend and with one more assuring squeeze of the hand, he motioned for him to step forward.
Gil Galad smiled at the two elves in front of him.
“Ah, Lord Glorfindel – finally you brought your foundling, so I get to know him. Welcome to Lindon, my silent friend. Glorfindel already told me some things about you.”
The dark haired elf looked up for a short moment, but at once lowered his gaze to the floor again.
“It seems to me, he’s rather shy, Glorfindel. Or have you told him that I’m an unapproachable and cruel ruler?”
“Of course not, your highness – I would never...”
“Oh, calm down, Lord Glorfindel – I was only jesting! However – “ and he adressed the silent elf once more, “I was told you wish to stay in Lindon?”
The elf nodded.
“I don’t see, why you shouldn’t. I just hope you don’t mind staying with Lord Glorfindel a while until we found you your own suitable quarters. Have you already told him about the oath, Lord Glorfindel?”
“No, I wanted to make sure, he’s allowed to stay first. Pen dínen, every one living in this palace had to swear an oath, that he would serve and protect our king by any means necessary.”
“But since you cannot speak”, Gil Galad continued, “I will accept your oath in another way.” And he held out his hand, where his ring, Vilya, sparkeled at his index finger.
“You may kiss my ring, to pledge your allegiance to me and I will regard it no less than any other oath sworn to me.”
The silent elf got down on one knee and pressed his lips onto the blue stone. After that, Gil Galad stepped forward and helped him to get up again. His hand still resting on the dark elf’s shoulder he said:
“Once more welcome to Lindon, my friend.”
Two days later, there was a big feast held in the palace, celebrating the return of its king and the new formed alliance with Lorien and Greenwood. Erestor sat at the edge of his seldom used bed and looked at the robe lying next to him. Glorfindel had chosen this special garment for him to wear tonight, a darkblue satin robe with hints of shining green. It was just the same colour as his eyes, the colour of the ocean and Erestor became a little homesick. How was his father doing right now, and his brothers. But when he thought about Glorfindel, who had promised him a dance tonight, his mood lightened up. He stood from the bed, feeling the pain in his feet with every step he made.
//How am I to enjoy a dance like this. //
But the same time Erestor knew, that all pain would be forgotten with one look in Glorfindels eyes.
When Erestor reached the hall, the party was already full swing. He easily spotted Glorfindel dancing with one of the ladies. The warrior was dressed in a deep red velvet robe, his blond hair was unbraided and shone like the purest gold.
King Gil Galad was sitting on his throne and with a twitch in his heart, Erestor realised that the kings eyes followed Glorfindel with every step.
By now, the blond warrior had noticed Erestor in the entrance and left his lady standing on the dancefloor to approach him.
“Oh, pen dínen, you look breathtaking tonight.”
Erestor blushed.
Glorfindel held out his arm to him and smiled.
“Shall we?”
Erestor nodded and moments later he found himself on the dancefloor and in Glorfindel’s arms.
The sun had long set and the moon was high in the sky, but still the party went on. The king Gil Galad had to stifle a yawn and rose from his throne. He walked to the drinking table, where Glorfindel was currently refilling his goblet with deep red wine.
“I hope you are enjoying yourself my friend. But don’t you think, you had enough tonight?”
“I could never get enough of your special vintage... it’s so seldom an opinion where I get to taste it!”
Ereinion Gil galad smirked wen he noticed Glorfindels difficulties to speak properly.
“However, my dear Lord Glorfindel, I will retreat now.”
“What? Before I had a chance to dance with you?”
The king’s eyes widened.
“You want to dance with me? I thought you and your silent companion...”
“Oh, he’s just a friend. He won’t mind me a dance with my king.”
“Well, alright Lord Glorfindel, one last dance for me tonight, before I go to bed.”
The dancefloor cleared and they began to move with the music. Much too short was the song the minstrels played, too soon it ended. Just that moment, the king said:
“And now, I wish you a good night, my friend. And if you don’t have too strong a hangover tomorrow, I would like to see you in the morning for a short meeting.”
With that, the king left the hall.
Erestor watched Glorfindel taking already the next goblet from the wine table and decided, that his warrior now had enough, for he was already swaying at his feet. When Glorfindel brought the goblet once more to hislips, his hand was stopped by Erestor, who looked at him with stern eyes and shook his head.
“Oh, come on pen dínen – let’s have fun!”
But Erestor would have nothing of that. He took the goblet from Glorfindel and hauled the warrior behind him towards their quarters. Once inside, he helped the drunken elf to undress and put him down under the blankets. Then he took off his blue-green robe and laid down next to Glorfindel. They lay on their sides, face to face and both were smiling at each other.
“Do you even know, how good you looked tonight, pen dínen? Truly, when we danced, every other elf in the hall envied me!”
//Just as I envied the king, when you danced with him.// Erestor thought.
“Oh, pen dínen – it would be so easy falling in love with you!”
How much can one take? How many nights being so close to the one he loves without expressing his feelings? Erestor found that he couldn’t bear it even one second longer! He gathered all his courage and bent forward to put his lips to the warrior’s. Glorfindel closed his eyes and enjoyed the kiss and when Erestor withdrew, he opened them again and said:
“So, you have returned to me, my angel.”
He put his arms around Erstors neck, drew him closer and returned the kiss. When their already naked bodies touched and their kiss deepened, passion overwhelmed them. In heated frenzy, they began to touch, lick and nibble at each other’s skin. Their arousal became unbearable and Glorfindel pressed Erestor onto his back and moved between his legs. For a short moment, Erestor became frightened, but Glorfindel stroke his hair and whispered:
“Ssh, I will be gentle. Trust me!Relax!”
Where Glorfindel had taken the vial with oil from, Erestor didn’t know. But suddely, he felt one of the warriors oiled fingers at his opening, pressing inside his body. He tensed and had to fight the urge to press his legs together.
“Ssh, relax, pen dínen... this will feel good, I promise.”
Glorfindel slowly moved his finger inside Erestor’s tight passage and the same time, he started to stroke the dark elf’s arousal with his free hand. Soon, Erestor began to moan and writhe under him and he inserted a second finger to stretch the opening slowly. Soon, Glorfindel had reached the point, where he couldn’t restrain himself anymore. He took his own length in his hand, oiled it and guided it to Eretors opening. Slowly, he started pressing into the tight passage. Erestor felt a burning pain in his backside, but the same time, it was a pain he craved. Slowly, the blond warrior sheated himself completely inside the tight body and then began to rock slightly. When he felt Eestor relax a little more, he started to thrust, changing his angle, so he would nudge the dark elf’s prostate with every move. Erestor lost the ability to think. Stars exploded behind his eyes and a wonderfoul heat, that he never felt before, spread inside his body. A few more thrusts and he reached completition with a silent cry. The same moment, Glorfindel climaxed as well ad collapsed exhausted on top of the slender body. Soon, both of them were asleep.
