Title: Reading Between the Lines (4/?)
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Orophin/Erestor, Glorfindel/Lindir (suggested)
Warnings: AU, sarcasm, bad pick up lines
Disclaimer: If they were mine I would be rich. Seeing as I am broke, they are obviously not mine. But good lord do they make dreams worth while!
Summary: Orophin's first visit to Imladris is fairly uneventful and boring until he stumbles upon a certain black haired advisor in the library. Now his goal is to win Erestor's heart before he heads home again.

“Did you ever find him last night?” Orophin looked up and smiled to Lindir. The fair elf stood before him, knowing well enough that Orophin had been nodding off in the chair.
“Oh, yes. I took your advice and visited him in his rooms.”
“Good! Did your meeting go well?”
“Very. I made him smile twice. And we had a bargain; if I could make him smile he had to be my friend.”
“He… smiled? I do not think I have ever seen him do such a thing.”
“I imagine so, he is not very pleasant. But still. I succeeded in my task.”
“If you do not find him pleasant, why do you wish to be his friend?”
“He may not be pleasant or kind, but he is fair.”
“Ah. I see. You wish to bed him.”
“Yes. Although I am willing to be patient.”
“I fear you are in for it with this one. He does not give of himself easily. And once given… I would assume giving once is not something he wants, nor will allow.”
“Well, we shall see what comes of it. By the way, have you seen my brother today?”
“Early this morning, yes. He was walking alone. But I have not seen him since.”
“Thank you, Lindir.”
“Have a pleasant day, Orophin, and remember what I told you about Erestor.”
“I will take it into consideration. Thank you.”

Erestor rubbed the muscles in his back. It was still early yet, but he had already spent about three hours bent over his work on his desk. He was far behind, having spent the last several days trying to get the library back into order, but that was a rest he thought he was entitled to.
The morning had been quiet. No one had come in to the library yet, and he was rather glad of that. He took the moment to sit back in his chair and allow his mind to wander.
At times like these he enjoyed daydreaming. He had plenty of time to escape into a world he would never exist in in reality. He smiled to himself as an image of Glorfindel came to his mind. He imagined him riding his horse out to patrol, his golden hair flowing in the wind behind him, the blue in his eyes sparkling a greeting to the matching blue of the sky.
His smile turned to a confused frown as the elf on the horse suddenly changed to Orophin. Of all the elves, why him? He felt tricked, and was unsure of why the elf wanted so badly to be his friend. But at the same time, it felt good to have someone try so hard to be near him. He had never experienced the feeling before, and quietly giggled to himself like an elfling.
Drifting away from his original daydream, he recalled the dream he had in sleep the night before, a mischievous smile coming to his thin lips. Now that was like no dream he had ever had before, not even about Glorfindel. His dreams of Glorfindel were usually very formal, very romantic. But his dream last night… it was wanton and lustful, passionate. And Glorfindel was, surprisingly, nowhere to be found in it. It was Orophin. The thought slightly disturbed him, but excited him at the same time. His desires had lain with Glorfindel for so long, it was hard to invite someone else in. But he had to admit; he was slightly attracted to his new friend, and very flattered by his efforts.
The dream from the previous night began to replay as a daydream, Erestor’s smile deepening. He’d been sprawled out on a bed, not his own, but it did not matter. The sheets and blankets were white satin, and he could almost feel them under his exposed skin. He was lying there naked, waiting for someone.
But it was not long before that someone came in. He could see himself sit up and smile, lust filling his features, as he looked upon Orophin, dressed in a long blue robe, his silver hair tied back away from his face and his eyes filled with equal amounts of lust.
He blushed then, drowning out the erotic images that had followed. He feared not being able to look at his new friend without blushing after this. But he was oddly satisfied by what he had chosen to recall.
Still blushing at his own thoughts, he suddenly became aware of his surroundings again at the sound of someone clearing their throat. He looked up to see Orophin poking his head in the doorway.
“Good morning, friend!” Orophin smiled and stepped inside.
Erestor smiled back and stood. “And good morning to you.”
“Are you very busy?”
“I was… I am… I have a lot of work to catch up on. I was only taking a break for a moment.”
“Well… why not elongate that break and come for a walk with me.”
“Where to?”
“No where in particular. Just… outside.”
Erestor sighed and looked down at the pile of paperwork on his desk. He thought about being backed up further and the rush it would cause him later. But the thought was pushed away by the silver haired elf in a blue robe and he smiled. “Alright.”

They walked for a long time in silence. Orophin found himself lost in the shine of Erestor’s black hair. He had no idea such a dark color could almost glow in the sunlight. His eyes followed every reflection of the sun in that dark hair as he walked, the sunbeams making waves down his back like a dark, silk ocean. He suddenly realized he was reaching out to touch it and stopped himself, grabbing his own wrist as if his arm had a mind of its own. And maybe it did.
Erestor looked back over his shoulder and caught Orophin staring at him. He smiled. “What are you looking at?”
Orophin’s eyes shot up to meet his, surprised at being pulled back so abruptly. “Um… your hair, actually.”
“My hair?”
“Yes. I am not used to seeing such dark hair. Most around me have silver hair, like my own.”
“I would imagine it is rather beautiful to see so much silver.”
“Yes, unless of course you see it all the time. I have run my fingers through so much silver hair at this point that I think I will be sick if I bed one more Silvan.”
Erestor laughed out loud as he turned his eyes back to face the road before him. He could feel the heat of a blush touching his cheeks again, his mind wandering off again to being sprawled out on satin sheets while that silver hair covered his naked body, fanning the heat from their bodies. The feeling, as usual, was both confusing and exciting.
“What are you thinking about in there?” Orophin gave in and reached out to touch Erestor’s hair, gently savoring the feel of it flowing between his fingers.
“Nothing of any consequence, do not worry yourself. What are you doing?”
“Does it bother you?”
“I hardly know you. I am inclined to not trust you or your intentions.”
“Aye. I am sorry.” He pulled his hand away.
Erestor smiled at him. “I only asked what you were doing; I did not tell you to stop.”
“So you like it?”
“Yes. No one has ever played with my hair before. It feels nice.”
“No one?”
“No.”
“I cannot imagine how that can be. I have wanted to run my fingers through your hair since we met.”
Erestor’s blush deepened in his cheeks. “So you were flirting?”
“Yes. Of course. And I am doing it again!”
