Notes: Sorry for the LONG delay! I will try to work on this some more now. This chap is a little short, but I thought that I have made you wait way too long already! Hope you enjoy!!
Part 4:
“La Seine...” Sean chuckled and took Dave’s hand into his. “What about sitting down over there?” he pointed at a bridge that was leading over the water. Small little benches were placed every few metres and you had a nice view on the city.
Dave laughed, the soud rich and warm. “Sounds nice...” he replied and pulled his hand from Sean’s grasp. Before the older man could react Dave had started to run to one of the benches, his feet thundering on the wooden surface. A woman pressed her little baby-daughter closer to her body as Dave passed her and mumbled a few curses in French before she continued to walk.
“What has suddenly come over you?” Sean asked, his smile evident in his voice. He sat down next to Dave and offered him the bottle of wine they had bought at the Italian restaurant.
“Happiness,” Dave answered, sounding a little breathless after his sprint over the bridge. “I feel so damn alive with you here, Sean,” he confessed, blushing a little when he realized what he had said. “I mean...it’s been a long time since I have spent such a lovely day with somebody. Thank you...” The redhead lowered his gaze to the floor and took a long gulp from the bottle.
They sat next to each other in silence for a while, letting themselves be warmed by the wine they were drinking. Both men tried to avoid looking at each other.
“Empty...” Sean whispered after some time and placed the bottle on the floor. “Wanna continue our little journey through the town?” he asked. “There’s still much we can see...”
Dave nodded and stood up, stretching his arms over his head as he did so. A little stripe of pale flesh was revealed between his shirt and jeans and Sean found himself staring at it. “Where was that chick again?” Dave wanted to know, ripping Sean from his thoughts.
“Louvre. The painting is displayed at the Louvre, that’s a big museum...” Sean combed his hands through his hair. “Now we just have to find out where that darn museum is.”
“We could get ourselves a map!” Dave suggested, already searching for some coins in his pocket. “All these guys there selling little Eiffel Tower-miniatures have to have something useful as well...”
They strolled over the bridge to the little booths that seemed to be everywhere in the town. “Map, map, map...” Dave mumbled and looked throught the items displayed on small little desks. “Map! Here’s one...” He gave the vendor a few coins and walked back to Sean, unfolding the map.
“Here!” Sean said after a while, pointing at a spot on the paper. “And we are...” He turned around to find out what the street was called they were standing on. “Damn, but we’re close. That’s no more than a few hundred metres!”
Dave started to walk into the dierection Sean pointed at. “May I ask you another question, Sean?” he asked after a while.
“Sure...” Sean immediatly replied, looking a little surprised. “Just ask away!!”
“Why did you agree to come with me? Why did you get out of the train with a stranger?” Dave looked at Sean, their eyes finding each other.
Sean was the first to lower his gaze. “David, look... Can I answer this question later? Cause honestly I haven’t found out yet myself...” He laughed a little nervously.
Dave’s eyes wer sparkling with amusement. “You agreed to spend the night with a stranger and you don’t know why? That’s damn weird, mate and I can’t wait for your answer...” He kicked a little stone that was lying on the ground in front of his feet.
“Daisy? Can I ask you something in return?”
“Sure...” Dave shrugged.
Sean cleared his throat. “Why did you ask me to join you?”
Dave frowned a little. “Okay...I promised to be honest...” He took a deep breath. “But don’t laugh at me!”
“I won’t,” Sean promised, curious to hear what the other man was about to say.
“Well, first of all I like you. I enjoy talking to you and I thought it might be fun to continue our little conversation. But...the real reason...the first thing that made me sit down next to you in that train and talk to you was...your hair.”
“My hair?!” Sean exclaimed, having thought of every other possible answer but that. “What’s wrong with it?” Again he brushed his hand through blond strands.
“There...you’re doing it again...” Dave smiled. “You keep messing it up all the time. I wanted to know why you do that...”
“And have you found out so far?” Sean wanted to know, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
“No...not really...” Dave answered. “But be assured, I will know before the end of the night...”

“There! That’s her!” Dave exclaimed a little too loudly and the people in the museum turned their heads to look at the man who was screaming. “That’s the painting of the chick!” He pointed at a little canvas dozens of people were standing in front of. “Excuse me,” he mumbled and elbowed his way through the crowd, Sean following him with an apologetic smile on his lips.
“Sorry,” Sean mumbled. “It’s his first time in a museum...” He came to stand next to the younger man. “Happy now?”
“No...” Dave sounded a little upset. “I thought she was bigger!” He turned around, following Sean who lead them out of the group of tourists. “We can go now unless you want to see something else...”
“I’d actually love to have a look at the Greek statues...” Sean mused and looked at the map of the museum. “Hell, you can get lost here! We have to go....all the way back I think...”
Dave grimaced. “Stairs?”
“Plenty of em!” Sean laughed heartily and patted Dave’s shoulder. “Come, Daisy! It’s not that bad!”
“What’s your favourite colour and why?” Dave suddenly wanted to know of Sean as they were climbing down the stairs.
“My favourite colour...” Sean frowned, thinking about it. “I think that would be green. But I only like the green that the walls of very old houses get. Actually I’d like yellow to be my favourite colour, it’s so bright and happy...”
“Just make it your favourite colour then!” Dave laughed. “You decide which one you like the best!”
“Nah,” Sean shook his head. “I totally can’t identify with yellow! You know, I don’t feel yellow.”
“I understand...” Dave said, walking next to Sean. “I think I am a blue person. For some reason I think I am.” He shrugged. “But I never put that much meaning into the choice of my favourite colour.”
“Found it!” Sean suddenly exclaimed triumphantly and lead Dave into a new room that was filled with white statues. “I wanted to see these!” He nodded pointing into the direction of a statue he particularly like. “That’s the Venus of Milan,” he quietly explained to Dave.
“The one that has no arms?” Dave frowned. “One should think they don’t show any broken pieces of art here!”
Again Sean had to laugh at Dave. “You haven’t been to many museums, have you?”
Dave shook his head. “Not many, no... Why you’re asking?”
“Just guessing...” Sean grinned, focusing on another statue.
“Sean! This guy here has tits!!”
TBC.........
About Dave’s last exclamation here... There is a statue of a hermaphrodite in the Louvre. My arts teacher with whom we were in Paris some time ago had us laugh at pointing that out. He was a little more subtle than Dave though....
