Love At First Sight, Or Not
Dun Dun Dun
After her fainting bout, Arwen had shown Manda around Rivendell. The whole place was white, it seemed. Legolas was nowhere in sight, which helped her nerves a lot. Well what was left of them, anyway. Waking up in a city from a movie, and talking to several of the movies’ characters, you can kiss most of your sanity bye-bye.
She had just one problem as an elf though. She hated eavesdropping, and there wasn’t much you could do to stop it from happening. And you couldn’t apologize for it, because people (or elves, rather) would stare at you.
Turning a corner, she found one such situation. Legolas was talking to someone that she didn’t know by voice. The conversation revolved around her, though. And in sudden realization of who it was, she gasped. Both subjects of her thought turned around. Legolas and boromir now stood facing her.
"So this is the girl you found in the woods? I thought you said she was human." "She was. But it seems that she adapted herself in here." Boromir gawked. "But that’s impossible, you can’t just turn from human to elf by adapting!"
Legolas noticed something. Boromir was staring at her. Not as an object of curiosity, though. More like someone would look upon a lover. And for some odd reason, he found himself fuming.
Boromir noticed the glare, and knew its purpose. Legolas was pissed, but he clearly didn’t know why. Which made boromir smile, and Legolas glare even worse. He looked from Legolas, back to the girl. "What is your name?" She smiled, oblivious to legolas’s death glare on Boromir. "Manda. And you are?" "Boromir. It is a pleasure to meet you."
She then turned and left them, leaving both men watching her as she walked away. They both turned around and faced eachother. The challenge had been issued. The prize they were competing for? Manda’s heart.
