Shadows of the past

Chapter 4

(AN) This the first meeting with Azariel through the eyes of Haldir and the others.


When Haldir stepped through the porthole, Legolas the others were already surrounded by Galadhrim. Only they weren't Haldir's Galadhrim. Haldir held up his hands as more warriors closed in on his. He was very proud of these warriors of the future. When thealiealized that Haldir was a member of the Galadhrim they backed off a little. The leader stepped forward.

"Who are you and what are you going in the lady's meetingmbermbers?" Demanded the Dark haired warrior.

"I am called Haldir. We have come in surch of the Lady Azariel."

"Princess Azariel is not here. Please wait here for a moment." With that the dark haired elf strode from the room, only to return a few minutes later with what Haldir thought to be their lady. Haldir bowed his head and placed his hand over his heart, as did the rest of the small traveling party.

The lady smiled and looked to Haldir. "You need not bowl to me my lord Haldir. I knew of your coming. Please have a seat. We are all kin here. Well most of us anyway." Zirariel smiled at the Mirkwood prince. While they all sat them selves down. "I am Zirariel. And you are in my realm. I have called for Azariel to join us here. She will be only a moment."

A few minutes later a beautiful young elleth bounced into the room, smiling at her mother. "Good morning mother. Sorry to get home so late." She said while bending down to kiss her mother's cheek. She had sliver blond hair and bright green eyes. Her skin was lightly sun kissed giving her an otherworldly appearance.

"Azariel we have visitors. The young maiden turned around stopping dead in her tracks. She blinked her eyes several times to make sure she was not seeing things. She heard her mother laughing in her head. "You are indeed not seeing things daughter. They have come asking for your help."

"My help. How can I help them?" Azariel asked out loud looking strangely between the strong warriors. Haldir could not help the snicker that escaped his lips.

"You are the last remaining ancestor of Galadriel lady of light. And the most powerful that has ever lived. Being that you are infused with the blood of the valar and that of the elves gives you more power the most second only the Valar them selves. They need that power now my daughter. A new danger had token hold in middle earth. One more powerful then the dark lord him self. You go go back with them and fight to save middle earth. For if it is lost then we will seas to exist."

"Woo this is heavy!"

Legolas looked to Haldir with an arched eyebrow then at the twins. They all shrugged then returned their attention to the two elleths in the room.
Zirariel laughed at the guessed confused expressions. "Azariel here loves to walk into the world of man. And does so as often as she can slip away. Or should a say sneak?"

"I did not sneak away this time mother I told you that I was going this time."

"We will discuss that later. Now we must make planes for you're departure."

"Yes naneth." She started to make her way to the door when Zirariel told her to pack light for every thing that she would need would be provided for her.

"Somehow I doubt that." She smiled to the elves sitting in the chairs and left the room.

Zirariel smiled looking back to the others still sitting before her. "Well how soon are you planning on returning to your time my friends?"

"Right away my lady." Replied Elladan.

"Oh I hope Galadriel knows what she is getting into bring Azariel back with you. She can be a hand full at times."

"With her having my brother's blood running through her vain I do not doubt that. No offence to you intended my lady!" Haldir gave Zirariel a charming smile. Hoping that he had not stuck his big foot in his mouth. Elladan andohirohir burst out laughing earning a stern glare from Haldir.

"Are you in need of anything while you wait?" Zirariel asked stifling a chuckehinehind a hand.

"We would like to see some of your city my lady." Replied Legolas. "If that is not to much trouble."

"Not at all. If you will please follow me."

Zirariel spent hours showing them around the city. The last place they stopped was the training grounds. They were busy training new wardens. Haldir smiled at the training tectonics. They reminded him of his own. Haldir smiled when he realized that Azariel was there talking to the commander. She seamed to bvingving him orders of some sort.

"Azariel is my Marchwarden. She runs a tight out fit. She will not ask anything from her wardens that she cannot do herself. You have always been her role model Lord Haldir. She is every good at what she does. We do not have much trouble but when we do she puts a stop to it most of the time before it even get's started."

"Nanath are you bragging on me again?" Azariel asked walking up to them.

"Of cores. Why should I not." Zirariel asked wrapping her arm around Azariel.

"Gordon should be alright taking command until I return. Just don't let him get too happy taking my place. I'll try to be back as soon as I can."

"I'm sure that Gordon knows that my love. Are you almost ready to go?"

"Yes all I have to do is pack a quick bag. It shouldn't talk but a few minutes." Azariel smiled and kissed her mother on her cheek then lthe the training yards.

Azariel sighed walking into her bedroom cambers. She was excited at going back in time to see Lothlorien of that time. But at the same time she was extremely nervous as well. She could not believe that she had been in the same room with Legolas Green leaf and Haldir the Marchwarden of that time. She wondered what he thought of her Galadhrim. Would they measure up to his wardens?

She packed several changes of clothing and her walk-man and several packed of batteries. Then she grabbed her weapons and ed bed back to where her mother and the others were waiting inside the meeting chambers."
