Thank you for the kind reviews! I'm so glad that you like this story because there's a whole Sean/Alex series just waiting to be published. =P
Chapter 4
Mark was staring at his beloved Gwen, frowning.
“What’s wrong with Alex?”
She sighed in response, slumping bonelessly on the sofa, and looked at him. "I fear our idea wasn’t been a good one..." she murmured sadly. "We shouldn't have convinced her to do this...it's all wrong, Mark...she's falling for him."
“What?” he asked then, eyes wide in surprise.
“It can’t be, love. She’s still hurt from what that bastard did to her. And after all, Sean is engaged to that actress.”
"You know I hate it when I have to burst your bubble, sweetie, don't you?" Gwen said, crouching against him when he sat next to her. "His girlfriend's away filming some movie, they're alone in the house now. No girlfriends around, just the two of them, no one else. And...well. Seems like they just had sex on the couch."
“That bastard touched her?” he boomed, standing up nervously, walking up and down the room. He didn’t know why, but he was always overprotective when it came to Alex.
“How dare he? Did he hurt her? I’m gonna beat the shit out of him if he just...”
"It was consensual." Gwen said quietly, crossing her arms across the chest and following him with her gaze. "And that's not what worries me. A broken heart is much more dangerous than the occasional fuck, Mark. We should take her away from there."
“Shit...it’s all my fault.” he cursed himself.
“If she hadn’t be so stubborn about that damn diary, she would be at home and none of this would have happened...”
Then he stopped to look at his Gwen.
“Is he in love with her?”
"I don't know. And I don't think they even mentioned love, anyway." the girl replied. "She told me that he's was... kinda sweet afterwards, and asked Alex to give him a chance to prove her that he really cares. That's all I know."
Alex only stepped out of her room in the evening, walking to the kitchen.
She had seen Sean going out that morning, and she had fallen asleep, but now she was hungry.
Eating an apple, she sat on the counter, still thinking about what had happened.
Sean was taking care of his gardening business when he caught a glimpse of her through a window. He stopped, wiping his forehead on a sleeve, and just remained there for a while, kneeled on the ground and playing nervously with a small rake, considering the situation. He was wearing a torn t-shirt and a jeans coverall, both stained with dirt and grass, his hair was probably quite tousled and he was damp with sweat. Not encouraging. The sudden thought of Mellors and Lady Chatterley flashed into his mind, and he had to chuckle despite himself. That's exactly how they were. Alex was indeed beautiful and delicate, while he was just as unkempt as the rough keeper he'd portrayed years before. And stupid, oh so stupid. It had not been a good idea, making love with her. He'd never felt her that distant before.
Sighing, Alex walked to the window, and was surprised to see Sean there.
Their eyes met and she smiled softly at him, raising one hand to the glass.
She stood there for some moments, before to turn and sit on the couch, where images of what they had done filled her mind.
That single, sweet smile had managed to instantly make up Sean's mind about the whole thing. He distractedly abandoned all his gardening tools and stood, walking decidedly towards the back door, despite his unkemptness and all the previous doubts. They really needed to talk.
He took a deep breath when he saw her, and stopped some footsteps away from the couch. Presumably she wasn't fancying any kind of closeness with him, and once again he couldn't blame her for that.
"I think we should talk..."
When she heard his voice, Alex shifted her azure eyes to him, nodding.
Sean almost held his breath when their eyes met, his stomach clenching uneasily as he realized that things could never be the same between them. Not after what had happened the day before. And now he could lose her forever, or make her trust him someway. He managed to find the courage to speak only long moments later.
"I...I’m not playing games with you, Alex." he murmured. "How can I prove it to you? How can I prove you that I really care?"
“I care about you, too.” she whispered.
“And I’m not worried about the present, you know? I don’t know...it’s that I’m searching for something serious. Maybe I’m just scared but…what if one day you’ll meet another woman? You will cheat on me as you did with Melanie and Abigail? Because that’s what you’re doing right now. You’ve been unfaithful to Abigail...”
"I've been unfaithful because I'm not in love with her" he replied, sighing. "I've never been in love with her and I will never be. She knows that...I know I'm a bastard anyway, Alex, I know...I'm just tryin' to be happy someway..."
“I don’t want to be hurt anymore, Sean.” she said softly, making room for him on the couch.
"I know." he sighed, sitting at some distance and staring at the ground. "But I don't want to hurt you..."
Alex looked attentively at him, as if considering his words...then she put her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes.
“I’ll give you that chance. But you have to tell her, Sean. I want you to be clear...”
"I'll call her." Sean said softly, turning to look at her. "May I kiss you even if right now I'm dirty and unkempt, then? Do you want me anyway?"
Smiling, the girl put her hand at the back of his head, closing her eyes and gently caressing his tongue with hers, actually tasting him, trying to learn every corner of his mouth.
"You are a dream." Sean whispered against her lips, smiling, before they kissed again, slowly and deeply, as if trying to experience and learn each other. When they eventually parted, he hugged her tight, and rubbed his cheek against hers in the most tender of gestures. "I want you to be with me when I call her," he murmured. "And then I'll have a good shower...and if you feel like going out, we could have lunch at the Holly Bush. I'd love to introduce you to my friends, you know?"
“Okay, my lord” she chuckled, giving him a quick kiss on his neck before letting him go.
It was a dream, indeed. She couldnelieelieve that they were together. She had to call Gwen.
He took the cordless phone, and sat again next to Alex. Then he looked at her, as if trying to gather enough bravery to make that call, and took a deep breath.
"All right." he mumbled, smiling a bit. "She can't kill me via phone, now can she?"
“Sean,” she told firmly, stopping his hand. “You don’t have to do it if you don’t want...You shouldn’t do it just...for me...”
"I'm not doin' it just for you." he said softly, looking into her eyes. "I'm doin' it for us, because I know that we can be truly happy together and because I want you to trust me. I want you to believe in us like I do." He caressed her cheek, smiling, and then shrugged. "It's something I should have done quite a while ago. I'm just a little tense; I won't certainly die for this. Anyway another kiss would help...they’re addictive, did you know?"
“Yeah?” she asked softly, gently leaning to kiss him again with the uttermost tenderness, while caressing his hair.
“You are addictive...”
"Right now, I'm just dirty and sweaty" he chuckled while dialling Abigail's number. "I can't wait to get a good shower."
Then he waited for her to answer, frowning slightly with concern and holding Alex's hand into his. "Hey, Abbie, it's me. Listen, there is something we must talk about...no, it can't wait. I know you're busy, but it won't take long." A pause, then. He looked at Alex for a split second, and sighed. "It’s over." he said simply, and another pause followed as Abigail let off steam and directed both a wide collection of insults towards him and Alex. Sean, though, looked quite aloof. It was evident he was used to that.
"Are you finished?" he asked after a while, in an annoyed tone. No, she wasn't finished. "Go ahead then, suit yourself."
After a few more seconds, he rolled his eyes, and shook his head as he turned to look at Alex. He was pretty sure she could hear Abigail yelling, too.
"I really must go now." he said then. "I'm sorry, Abbie."
Click.
Alex looked at him with concern.
“How did you manage to stay with that...banshee?” she asked, shaking her head.
But suddenly she embraced him tightly. She wanted to be clear that she had appreciated he he had done.
Smiling wickedly, without a word, she took hold of his hand guiding him to the bathroom, her eyes never leaving his.
“Do you need me to wash your back?”
"Indeed." Sean smiled, kicking off his shoes and then slipping off the stained coverall. He had just his boxers and t-shirt left, while Alex was still fully dressed.
"Mmmm. Do you need some help?" he grinned, nearing her. "You know, I could rip your clothes off by using just my teeth, so you'd better take them off by yourself."
Both his words and the look of lust in his eyes aroused her, and she just kissed him passionately, while kicking off her shoes and unzipping her jeans.
When they parted, she quickly pulled off her shirt, and started the hot water, turning to look at him, sensually licking her lips.
"Wanna play?" Sean smirked then, slipping off his t-shirt and then his boxers. Another longing look at Alex' slender form, and he decided that with those pretty panties and bra she was way too dressed. He approached her quietly, until their bodies were pressing together, but he didn't hug her. He definitely needed his hands free.
Then he stared at her for some moments, his blazing eyes eagerly roaming over her face, lingering onto her eyes and mouth now and then, until his lips crooked into a sort of wicked grin. Saying nothing, he grazed the tip of his tongue over her lips, then slipped it into her mouth to kiss her fully, exploring every corner of the welcoming, warm cave. At the same time, he managed to unlace her bra and remove it, to place both hands on her shapely buttocks and squeeze lightly once he'd accomplished the task. He broke the kiss abruptly to look into her eyes, and his lips curved into a mischievous grin when he grasped her panties, seemingly to slip them down. Seemingly.
A sudden yank and Alex' pretty panties were literally ripped off her.
Stunned, Alex’s gaze went from her ripped panties on the floor to Sean.
She definitely didn’t expect him to be so passionate, but it was way too...interesting.
“You’ll have to buy to me a new pair...I’ll make sure of that!” she smiled wickedly, before to pull his head toward hers and kiss him in a bruising way, leaving him breathless.
Without breaking the kiss, Sean cupped her buttocks and dragged her under the warm dash of water, aroused both by the contact of their skin and by Alex's fervour. Their mouths eventually parted and he unexpectedly slid down her body, eagerly lapping his way to her belly and then further down, his hands leaving her buttocks for a moment in order to part her long legs. When Sean's eyes met hers, he hinted a sly smile, and licked his lips in eager anticipation.
"Would you let me taste you?" he whispered, his voice husky and thick with desire.
At that sight, Alex nodded her approval, unable to speak; her eyes glued to the wonderful creature knelt in front of her.
His skilled fingers ignited fire everywhere they touched her, and Alex supported herself by putting her hands on his shoulders.
Soon, when he started to lick her, her head fell back, her mouth opened in a silent scream, her eyes closed.
When he felt Alex start to twitch and shudder, Sean grasped her waist to keep her in place, and raised his eyes to look at her. He had to restrain himself from groaning aloud when he f tha that it was indeed one of the most glorious sights he'd ever seen in his entire life. Resolute to hurl her over the edge just with his mouth, Sean redoubled his efforts, his tongue probing, tasting and swirling skilfully over the sensitized flesh.
Alex was trembling and she could feel the familiar heat in her belly, sensing that her climax was approaching.
Sean started to suck at her clit, and she moaned loudly, arching her back towards him, scratching his shoulders with her nails and panting as he sent her over the edge.
While waiting for Alex' shudders to diminish, Sean kept on fondling her tenderly, all the while caressing the back of her thighs with slow strokes. He eventually stood, drawing her into his arms to hold her tight, and showered her cheeks with many little kisses, smiling against her skin.
When her breathing returned normal, Alex embraced him tightly, feeling the strong desire to weep, for that man was too much for her, and her mind was still trying to register the fact that he had chosen her, and not Abigail.
Without a word, she smiled at him, and poured a little amount of soap on a sponge, starting to wash his shoulders.
"Geez, Alex. You're way too perfect for me." he chuckled then, turning around to allow her to wash his back. "You're skilled even as a washer. Pray tell me, is there anything you can't do?"
Chuckling, she thought a little, smirking.
“No, I can do everything you want me to...” she whispered after a while at his ear.
"Oh, that sounds interesting indeed..." he smirked, turning his head to flash her a wicked glance. "I could decide to take advantage of such a statement, I'm warnin' you. Could pleaplease hug me right now, for instance?"
Smiling, Alex embraced him tightly, letting go of the sponge, revealing in the feeling of the hot water rippling down her body, sweetly kissing his solid chest.
"It's beautiful to stay with you." he whispered, holding her face into his hands, and then brushing the tip of his nose against hers with a smile. "Shall I wash your lovely back in return?"
“You are so sweet...” she whispered against his mouth before to tenderly kiss his lips and turning to give him her back, smiling happily.
"Not as much as you, that's sure." he smiled, recovering the sponge and then pouring a generous amount of scented soap on Alex' back. "Energetic rubbing or delicate strokes, ma'am?" he chuckled then, leaning to kiss the side of her neck.
“I think I’m in the delicate mood, you know?” she chuckled back, looking at him from over her shoulder.
When they had finished, Alex wiped carefully Sean’s body and hers and they helped each other to dress up.
“What are you planning to do?” she asked to him from her bedroom.
"What about lunch at the Holly Bush and then a bit of wild shopping?" he proposed, peering into the room and leaning against the doorframe. "Sound good?"
“Okay.” she smiled, looking back at him, and trying to decide what to wear.
“Sean? How should I dress myself?”
"Whatever suits you, darling." he smiled, nearing her to browse through her clothes in the wardrobe. "Anyway the Bush is just a pub, so even jeans and t-shirt would do just fine. But how 'bout a skirt or something, so that I could admire your beautiful legs all the time?"
“Okay, a skirt it’ll be!” she smiled, taking a short black skirt from the wardrobe, matching it with a white silken top.
Smiling wickedly, she started to model the clothes in front of Sean, with unbearable slowness and in a really sensual way.
"Mmmm…I thought you'd noticed already that I have a thing for ripping clothes off..." he chuckled, raising an eyebrow and nearing her to put his hands on her waist. "So don't tempt me if you don't want to spend at least the next week in bed with me…"
“Sounds good.” she whispered against his mouth.
“But you should stop ripping all of my favourite clothes, or I’ll get mad at you…”
"Shall I just slip them off then?" he whispered back, smiling, so close to Alex that his lips were almost touching hers. "But that way I don't think we'd go out at all...are you hungry, love?"
“Depends what you think I’m hungry for...” she whispered wickedly. “And it’s not food, at all…”
"What is it then?" he asked, backing away a little and pretending to be oblivious about the whole thing. "You know, I have no idea of what it could be, really...I fear you'll have to explain...or even better show me. Would you?"
Without saying anything, Alex looked sensually at him, pulling his head almost roughly against hers and kissing him hungrily, while pressing her body against his, gently caressing his buttocks.
Sean returned the kiss eagerly, his breath already quickening, all the while pulling her towards the wide bed. Then he drew back, looking intently at her, and smiled as he gently tugged at Alex's top to slip it off.
"I think I'll spare these clothes." he murmured. "Am I not a good boy?"
“You’re the best.” she whispered, pulling off her bra and underwear, and laying on the bed, looking intensely into his eyes.
Once he was naked as well, Sean literally crawled on the bed to reach her, grinning, and then collapsed on top of her, remaining completely still.
"Trapped, m'lady" he chuckled. "And I won't certainly let you go."
They remained in bed until evening, making love, and eatsomesome cold food that Sean had managed to take from the fridge.
Then Alex put on a pair of shorts and a shirt, walking downstairs, bare feet, to cook something.
A few minutes later, Sean entered the room too, while browsing one of Alex's interior decoration magazines.
"Looks like we're almost finished with the house, which is definitely a good thing." he said, nearing Alex to kiss her on the cheek and then sitting on a counter, still holding the magazine in his hands, but looking at the girl. "What about a vacation after that, just me and you? We could go anywhere you want, sweetie, you only have to ask."
“A...vacation?” she asked, a little confused.
She wasn’t planning a vacation, at all. She was supposed to find that damned diary.
Yeah, and then? Every time she looked into his eyes she felt guilt because she wasn’t able to tell him the truth.
Who was the liar now?
Who was betraying the other’s thrust?
But if she would tell him, Sean would surely refuse to see her anymore.
“There’s another room upstairs, it’s closed and I should see it. Then we could move to the garden.” she somehow managed to smile at him, turning away to check to her chicken.
"We can think about the garden later." Sean replied, shrugging. "And I've already checked the attic, there's nothing but old pieces of furniture, ruined paintings and such stuff. They'll be here to clear everything away next week, so no need to worry about that."
Her heart skipped a beat at his words. Old furniture.
“Well…Sean? I really like old furniture…” she said, trying to seem indifferent. “What if tomorrow you’ll give me the key? There could be something interesting…”
"Yeah, of course, but there's nothing you could really use in there." he replied, grimacing a little. "It's all battered quite badly, save for large trunk, which could maybe be renovated, but there is no key. Anyway, I'll show you the room tomorrow, if you want."
“Yes, it would be wonderful.” she smiled, turning to look at him and kissing him sweetly on his lips.
“You know, it’s beautiful to stay here with you….”
"Tell me that we'll go somewhere together then." he murmured with a little smile. "Promise me. Oh please, please, please…"
“Okay, okay.” she smiled, shaking her head. “But tell me…where are you planning to go?”
"I don't know." Sean shrugged, grinning. "Anything would do, as long as we're together."
He thought about that for a moment, circling Alex' waist with his arms, and suddenly raised an eyebrow. "What about Italy?"
“Home…” she murmured, a thousand of images dancing in her mind. “Yeah! I could be your tourist guide. You could stay at my place…” she told him, smiling wickedly. “But I don’t know if such a famous actor as you would like it…”
"I'll most definitely love it." Sean answered, tenderly kissing the tip of her nose. "I used to be a welder with my dad and even to sell cheese in a supermarket, I'm not all that snob and conceited, you know. But tell me, do you think your aunt would go haywire if you'd take a man home with you?"
“I’ll tell you a secret,” she whispered at him, in what seemed an almost comic gesture. “My aunt is secretly hoping I’ll find a good boy to marry with ever since I was fifteen. So I imagine she would be more than happy to see you.”
"Oh, I see. And would you?" he asked curiously, trying to stifle a chuckle. "I mean...would you really marry a bad guy like me?"
“Don’t fret, Sean...” she smiled sweetly. “We’ve only been together one day, and I don’t like marriage, anyway...”
"Oh, I know that we've only been together one day...and I'm not all that eager to get married again, either. It’d be the third time around, do you know that?"
“Really?” she asked, stunned. “You got married two times? And...what happened then?”
"We were both very young back then..." Sean sighed, shrugging. "I was about to enter the Royal Academy of Dramatics Arts here in London, but she wouldn't move from Sheffield. So we did split. And then I met Melanie."
“And then you met Abigail, and then me…” she sighed, trying desperately to hide the fact that still she wasn’t too sure about trusting him.
Sean just stared at Alex for a while, as if studying her. Then he smiled faintly and averted his gaze, checking their dinner.
"I don't blame you."
Sighing, she put the chicken in two plates, and took it to the table.
It was a particularly silent dinner, Sean wasn’t in a talkative mood and Alex’s mind was focused on the diary, on her future and on her love story with him.
It was impossible to say what would happen, but she had to tell him about the diary, even if it was difficult and it would hurt him.
After dinner, she sat on the couch, embracing her legs, and looking at the black screen of the television.
Sean was on his way to the stairs, but when he saw Alex like that he stopped abruptly, frowning with concern.
"Is...there something wrong, love?" he asked hesitantly, slowly nearing the couch.
Turning to look at him, she managed to smile, making room for him.
“No, it’s okay. I was just…thinking.”
"Mmmm, yeah?" he asked, sitting by her side. "May I ask you about what, then? You seemed worried." he said softly, leaning closer to push a lock of hair away from Alex's cheek.
“I was…thinking about my future. Sometimes it seems pitch black to me…and…I’m not sure of what I’m gonna do…”
"Enjoy whatever comes, then." he smiled, drawing Alex into his arms in an attempt to reassure her. "We can't find answers to all questions, Alex, and I believe that sometimes it's better that way…I don't even want to know why I care so deeply about you. I just want to live it, and that's exactly what you should do. Don't worry for what's about to come, you'll see it by yourself."
“I’m just…afraid to lose you…” she murmured sadly, closing her eyes and relaxing against his chest.
That was the truth, she was incredibly afraid to lose him.
And maybe ouldould happen.
Sean held her even tighter at those words, and tenderly placed a lingering kiss on her forehead while stroking her hair. "I'm not plannin' to leave you anyway, love, that's sure." he said softly. "Don't even think about such a thing."
Smiling, she looked longingly into those piercing eyes, and kissed him sweetly.
“Do you want to go to sleep, or do you want to see some television?”
"What about a nice, relaxing bath instead?" he suggested with a little smile. "Then I could show you how good I am with cuddles, and lull you to sleep into my arms. I don't know about you, but I'd love to."
“It would be wonderful.” she smiled, kissing the tip of his nose and caressing his blonde, soft hair. “You know you’re incredible, don’t you?”
Sean smiled, shaking his head. "Oh, I’m not. It's just that I'm incredibly happy with you, and I need to prove it to you all the time. You don't mind, do you?"
But he didn't wait for an answer, choosing to kiss her breathless instead.
They parted just for the lack of air, and Alex remained to look at Sean for a while. Her lips swollen and her eyes full of lust.
“I can’t get enough of you…” she whispered, brushing the tips of her fingers on his groin.
"I was about to say the same thing about you..." Sean whispered, caressing her lips with his, slightly trembling under her touch. He drew back slightly just to look deeply into Alex' eyes, smiling. And then, in a sudden surge of romance, Sean scooped her into his arms, carefully, as if afraid to break her. "Will you allow me to carry you to our bedroom, my dearest and most beloved treasure?"
“Yes.” she simply whispered, smiling and looking intensely into his eyes.
He climbed the stairs and put her on his bed carefully, and they started to undress each other as if they were precious gifts. Slowly, oh so slowly, in a sensual way, all the time smiling and kissing each other.
"If this is a dream don't wake me..." Sean whispered against Alex' lips, his eyes half closed, while slowly stroking her arms. "Don't ever wake me...it's just too incredibly beautiful to let it stop."
“Not planning to…” she whispered back, closing her eyes. “For tonight I’m just planning to feel…”
