CH 4

Amras said apologetically, “Forgive me my Lord, Prince Legolas, my guard here was out of line.”

“I am no mere male, do not you know who I am, Amras and to you Prince Legolas, do you not recognize a friend?” She pulled the cloak off her head to meet this Prince Legolas.

Legolas’s could not believe a beauty as the one that took him down was standing in front of him. It did not dawn on him who this Elf Maiden was until he remembered, Lady Larien of Rivendell.

Prince Legolas and Lady Larien’s eyes met each other as smirks from the other Elf guards rang through the forest. They could not believe that a lady about killed the great Prince of Mirkwood that was a remarkable warrior.

Amras stated firmly, “Hush or I will have you all reprimanded.”

The guards let Prince Legolas go as his stare broke from the most beautiful Elf Maiden he had ever seen. All the guards went back to their duties as Lady Larien and Amras stood in frof tof the Prince of Mirkwood.

Amras said, “Meet Lady Larien Anwamane, daughter of Lord Elrond and Lady Idril of Rivendell. She was the one who almost took your very life and for this I am most~”

Then a stern voice broke in, “Do not apologize for my actions, for they were honorable and if I have offended Prince Legolas, I am truly sorry! I believe you do not go lurking around in others domain.” Lady Larien bowed her head at the young Elf.

Legolas approached the beautiful creature that spoke for herself and lifted her chin. Larien could feel her cheeks redden at his touch.

“Please do not bow for you are as just as much royalty as I, fair Lady Larien, daughter of Lord Elrond. We are childhood friends and I cannot believe how much you’ve changed!” Legolas spoke with much grace to the young beauty as he reached around to give her a hug.

Larien gave Legolas a hug in return as she pushed back and spoke, “I have not seen you in ages, Legolas!” Larien’s smile brightened up her whole face as she remembered her Mirkwood Prince.

“I know it’s been quite sometime, you’re not the same Larien I used to know, all grown up I see.” Legolas smiled as she spoke.

“I must be getting back to Arwen, I am sure we will see each other around.” Larien smile and quickly left to find her sister.

Amras spoke nervously, “I’m quite sorry for the intrusion my friend, Please come and stay with us. I know Haldir would be excited to see you as well as Lady Arwen.”

“Haldir is on the borders of Rivendell? You must take me to him.” Legolas replied happily. Legolas had not seen his friend in ages.

Just as they were about to leave, Haldir showed up and about tackled the poor Prince. Amras left the two young Elves as they hugged one another.

“Legolas my good friend, it’s great to see you, I hear a Lady took you down. You are getting too relaxed in your years I see.” Haldir laughed.

“Well it was not just by anyone, Lady Larien, daughter of Lord Elrond, she has changed into this beautiful butterfly, not the same twig and tom boyish Elf we used to know!” Legolas replied.

Haldir stated as he laughed, “Aye, Lady Larien has changed to a radiant beauty. Remember the day I asked her to marry me?” His face turned three shades of red as that memory faded back. Deep down he loved Lady Larien.

They turned and walked back towards the camp as Legolas said, “That was a funny day, I believe she turned around and punched you, as I recall. Please fill me in on the daughters of Lord Elrond!” A smirk came across his face.

Haldir did as Prince Legolas requested and spoke of the two raven beauties with much respect. He told Legolas about the visits to the Golden Woods and how the two were always getting into trouble.

Chuckling, Haldir stated, “I can remember when you and I used to get into trouble all of the time.”

Legolas laughed as he recalled the times they used to torture their Merchwarden with pranks and other things.

Haldir requested, “Why not stay here for a couple of days? We could use the extra help. Lord Elrond does not want his daughters harmed or around any danger.” Haldir hoped the prince would stay and help.

“Sure I will stay and help protect Lord Elrond’s daughters. How is he these days and his wife?” Legolas asked and agreed of staying a few days.

“The Lord and Lady are doing well.” Stated Haldir.

Haldir walked the Prince to where he would be staying in the camp. The two were so happy to be reunited after all these years.
