Disclaimer:
I do not own the Lord of the Rings (and associated) book series, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Chapter Three
Then they jumped in our beds.
And we got up with a cheer!
And we had them! At last!
Those two Twins were staying HERE.
Then I said to the Elf,
“Now you do as I say.
You pack up your things
And then YOU go away!
“Oh dear!” said the Elf.
“You did not like their game…
Oh dear.
What a shame!
What a shame!
What a shame!
Then he reached for the Twins
Tried to take both their hands.
We moved in quick
We had to make a stand!
“This is good,” Erestor said.
“He will go away. Yes.
But Lord Elrond will come.
He will find this big mess!
And this mess is so big
And so deep and so tall,
We can not pick it up.
There is no way at all!”
And THEN!
Who finally spoke up?
Why, Lori!
“Have no fear his his mess,”
Said my sister with glee.
This Elf will pick up his playthings
And so…
He will show us another
Good trick that he knows!
Then we saw him pick up
All the things that were down.
He picked up the cake,
And the rake, and the gown,
And the milk, and the sash,
And the books, and the dish.
And the fan, and the cup,
And the ship, all with a dash.
And he put them away.
Then he said, “That is that.”
And then he was gone
With a tip of his hat.
Then Lord Elrond came in
And he said to us two,
“Did you have fun?
Tell me. What did you do?”
And Lori and I did not know
What to say.
Should we tell him
The Twins were here to stay?
Should we tell him about it?
Now, what SHOULD we do?
Well…
What would YOU do?
If Lord Elrond asked YOU?
END
A/N: I *finally* finished! I deserve a cookie. I’m still hoping that a certain couple of remarkable authors do not decide to haunt me for doing this. I just couldn’t help myself. It wouldn’t go away. This was actually more difficult that I had expected it to be. I shouldn’t be surprised, though. I always did dislike poetry with its rhyme and rhythm. My English teachers always just shook their heads and mumbled something about, “at least she can read.”
Now for some replies to my reviewers:
Anais - *snort* Like I would write a Legomance! I leave that to others. My four favorites were included here in this story. Please don’t ask which is my *most* favorite because it changes from day to day.
Naremorie – I’m glad you liked it! And Random Conversations as well. *S* I’ve thought about a sequel to that one, but right now my mind is taken up with other projects – not the least of which is the story that I beta read for a dear friend. And, hey! It’s been nominated for a My Preciouard ard in the English as a Second Language category. It’s here on AFF if you want to check it out – titled Haldir and Haleth. The author’s name is Kwannom. LOL I’d give you the link but I’m feeling lazy.
Nikkiling – How do you think I finally got the inspiration to finish this? I’m currently sitting out yet ANOTHER rainy day…and all by myself! Oh, well…a girl can dream.
