Enigma Wrapped in a Mystery
Legolas and Haldir carried the women the rest of the way to lothlorien. It seemed their adventure was to much for them. Haldir was startled to see Lord Elrond wating at the gates.
"Lord Elrond." Haldir said as he inclined his head slightly as he was unable to bow properly.
"We were getting worried. You should have been back yesterday." Elrond smiled at him. "Now who is that you are carrying?"
"We found these women being chased by orcs. They were dressed in strange clothes and were frightened. This one's name is Heidi, Legolas carries Denise her best friend. They are odd women. They speak strangely and yet they do not seem of this place." Haldir said exhaustion coloring his words.
Elrond realized how tired him and Legolas were, it could not have been easy carrying those women. The elves looked as if they had been marching non stop for days.
"Here let me take this one."
Haldir started for he had not seen Lord Celeborn there untill he spoke. He nodded once and gently handed Heidi over to Celeborn. Elrond took Denise from Legolas, as Celeborn adressed the warriors.
"Go now and rest. You have done a good job. Do not worry about tomorrow for the fences are strong." Celeborn turned and LordLord Elrond to the healers talan.
The warriors whispered amongst themselfs as they walked, pleased to have tomorrow off. Haldir and Legolas walked to the talan they shared with Haldir's brothers.
"Do you think they will be alright?" Legolas asked his friend.
"Yes. Ada and Elrond will take care of them." Haldir looked sharply at Legolas. "You seem awful interested in them. Has one caught your eye?" He teased.
Legolas shrugged and sighed. "Denise is quite pretty.........Heidi is way to high strung though."
Haldir laughed "That she is, perhaps something is wrong with her mind?"
Legolas laughed as he lay upon a bed. "Will Rumil and Orophin be back tonight?"
"Don't know, don't care to tired." Haldir laid down on his bed and fell asleep.

Elrond and Celeborn laid the women down and quickly assesed them.
"No visible wounds, cuts, or abrasions. Just exhausted." Celeborn muttered as he assesed Heidi, he took off her boots and cloak. Elrond nodded that Denise was in similar condition he swiftly put her into bed. Handmaidens came into the room and began to make the room comfortable for the humans. They lit the fire, laid out comfy clothes, lit candles, laid out food and drink. Celeborn gazed down at the woman, they seemed fragile but not human. Celeborn idly played with a lock of Heidi's hair, pushing it behind her ear. He gasped. Her ear was pointed! Not like an elfs but not that dissimilar. Perhaps she was part elven? He leaned over and looked at Denise's ear also was slightly pointed. Were they half elven? These women were an enigma wrapped up in a mystery. He sat down in a chair next to the bed and studied the women as they slept.
