Aragorn and Lena turned toward where the voice had come from. Lena silently prayed that it wasn't one of the twins, no good could come if they found out they got to her. The words on her tongue slipped away, however, as she saw that the man before her was not one of the twins. Very differant, in fact, was this elf from any of the others that she had seen during her short time in Rivendell. The light from outside shown in his silver hair like a heavenly aura which hovered around his body. As her eyes adjusted to the light, she saw that he wore earthy, travel worn clothes, unlike the courtly clothes Aragorn wore.
She knew this man. Well, elf.
The tall, lithe form before her was Legolas, there was no mistaking.
"Well," Legolas started "I haven't interrupted something have I?" He asked, the looking in his eyes betraying the innocence of the question to Aragorn. "Of course not, mellonamin" Aragorn replied. Legolas knew better than to think they had been doing anything, but he saw no need to waste an opportune moment to rib at his friend. "Well then, I don't believe I've had the pleasure of meeting your... friend." Legolas hesitated slightly. He had almost thought her an elf at first, but her scent gave her nature away. "Lena, this is Legolas. He is from the Mirkwood Realm of the elves." Legolas reached forward for Lena's hand and brushed his lips gently against it. "mae govannen Lady Lena" Lena averted her eyes, blushing softly. She could definatly get used to this hand kissing and flowery words thing, so what if she didn't understand them, atleast they were pretty.
"What brings you Legolas?" Aragorn asked, interrupting Lena's dazed moment. Legolas released her hand, straightening and turning to face Aragorn. "Mirkwood needs a reason to visit Rivendell, are we not friends? Nae saian luume' Aragorn." Legolas looks from Lena to Aragorn. "I'd thought to have a little fun at the spring festival, since you've no lady love to dote upon.."
That elf and his looks, Lena sighed internally. There had been nothing going on with her and Aragorn, not that she wouldn't, but.. "-joining you instead." Lena caught only the tail end of Legolas' statement but Aragorn seemed to be disagreeing. "I don't think she knows of the spring festival Legolas." This was all the invitation Legolas needed apparently, because his attention was back to her again. "Lady Lena, would you care to join us at the spring festival?"
A festival? With elves? somehow, she hardly saw them as party people. She didn't suppose it could hurt anyone. "I don't see why not.." She finally answered, looking to Aragorn for some sign that she'd answered correctly. Aragorn didn't mind if she came, though he felt a bit sorry for the way Legolas was treating her, it was against his usual character. Must be the spring air getting to him, Aragorn decided. And he wasn't blind, he could see why Lena was appealing to Legolas, he himself had thought her atleast part elf upon their meeting, the way she carried herself.
Lena's mind was already reeling on what a festival with the elves might be like, whether they would be demure and reserved or wild and raunchy.
"It was nice to meet you Legolas, but I think I should be going.." Lena would have to try and find her way back to her room, and then figure out how to get some differant clothes, and tell Travis where she was and what was happening, this was all so overwhelming. "Could you walk me back, Aragorn?" She asked him softly, afraid to admit in front of Legolas that she had no idea where she was. Aragorn smiled, nodding in agreement as Lena leaned close to him. "How do you say goodbye?" "Namaarie" was his soft response. "Namaarie Legolas" She bid him farewell, hoping she hadn't butchered the words too badly. "Cormamin niuve tenna' ta elea lle au'" Was Legolas' reply as Aragorn led her from the study.
"What did he say?" Lena asked when they were gone from the elf's sight. Aragorn smirked, trying not to laugh. "He said his heart would cry until it saw you again." Again, Legolas' words were causing a pink blush to climb up Lena's cheeks. "He isn't normally so straight forward, I must apologize for his behavior." Lena couldn't help laughing at that. "Let the Princling think he'd woo-ed me."
Her statement puzzled Aragorn, she kept address the elves as though they were children. "You knew he was a Prince and said nothing?" Lena's eyes twinkled as she laughed. "Like I said, we'll let him think he was sly.." Aragorn had to agree that it would be quite a surprise for Legolas to realize he had not bated the innocent girl as he thought. "So when is this festival Aragorn?" Lena asked, fingering the sleeve of her dress idly. "It begins tomorrow at dusk, I will make sure you find the way.."
As they approached Lena's room, Aragorn placed his hand on her arm, stopping her. "I must ask a question. Why do you refer to Elladan, Elrohir, and Legolas as children? Surely you can be no older than Travis." This elicited a small twinkling laugh from Lena. "You're right, I am not quite his age. But males seem to act like children long after their youth, regardless of where you go. I assume them equals to children until they prove to me otherwise." It seemed to make sense to Aragorn. "But you have not called me a child, or have I not heard the whispers behind my back?"
Lena shook her head in disagreement with him. "You are no child. You hide your light heart under your heavy burden. You will be a very good king." Lena stood on her toes slightly as she brushed her lips gently against his. "Tenna' tul're Estel" Lena said as she entered her room. She'd have to ask Travis, hopefully she'd said 'until tomorrow' and not something indecent. Maybe this was her punishment for having ignored his elvish rambling.
Aragorn leaned against the railing near Lena's bedroom. There was something in that innocent kiss that had him puzzled. And her words.. this woman was worth keeping an eye on.
