CH 4. Mirkwood visit and the letter
When they finally arrived at the borers, everyone seemed to just stare with unfriendliness at the young woman that entered into their territory.
Chrissy took notice of this and thought, “Id better say a prayer or two while I am in Mirkwood forest for my safety.”
Legolas looked up and said, “Hello, Nin Meldir,”(My friend) to the guard elf standing in the trees.
The Merchwarden looked down and said, “Mae govannen, Legolas. (Welcome)
They both continued to walk to the palace. When they arrived, Thranduil’s advisor, Elano, greeted them.
The woman stood there as the Elf spoke with Legolas. He had explained to him that he had met Lady Chrissy while hunting in the forest beyond their borders. She was hurt and needed to see the healer about the head injury. The injury had healed enough that Lady Chrissy did not need to see a healer right away. The two Elves walked a few feet away from Lady Chrissy.
Legolas said to Elano, “De yash nek’ Tai.” (Walk with me)
As Legolas turned to his Lady companion, he walked away saying, “Wait here for a moment, Elano and I have business to discuss.”
Chrissy replied, “Alright, just don’t go to far!”
Legolas smiled at her direction, knowing she was nervous due to she had nebeenbeen to his home before.
Speaking in a quiet voice Elano said to Legolas, “Are you sure this is wise bringing a human female into are borders?”
Disapproving, Legolas’s eyebrow lifted up as he spoke in harsh tone, “Elano do not judge every human that walks this middle earth!”
Apologetically, Elano stated, “I am truly sorry, Prince Legolas, I was just looking out for the safety of our kind.”
Legolas glared at Elano as he replied, “I can assure that she is harmless.”
And with that, Legolas left Elano and walked over to where he had left his Lady standing. He wondered where she had gone and Legolas went in search for his adventurous lady.
Chrissy was looking around the stunning and beautiful palace, soon she had wondered off to where she originally was standing. She noticed all the gold and precious gems that were all around on the walls.
Then Chrissy soon found the gardens and noticed the purple lilacs that were growing inside it. She walked over to the lilacs and just breathed in the smell. Ever since she could remember, she had always loved the wonderful aroma.
As Chrissy opened her curious eyes and reached down to pick one of the inviting flowers, she sat down on the bench that was next to the lilac bush.
Chrissy closed her eyes and felt as if she had been in this spot before. She was just taking in all the life of the beautiful garden. She just sat there content and enjoying this wonderful moment of the peace that surrounded her body.
Legolas looked around the palace and out through a door to the gardens, where he thought she might have been. He noticed how peaceful she was sitting in the garden.
A thought came to his mind that made his heart heavy. He realized that Larien loved to just sit for hours in the garden and look at the lilac bushes.
Legolas thought, “This is so strange of how the two are just a like in many ways”.
Silently Legolas said, “It could not be” as he was shaking his head while walked over where she was sitting.
As Legolas approached the woman from behind and before he tapped her on the shoulder Chrissy said softly, “I have been in these gardens before!”
Chrissy’s eyes had been closed and were consumed in the thoughts about the garden.
Legolas gently asked, “How has thee been here before?”
As Chrissy’s eyes met his as they flew opened as she said, “I am sorry tve jve just wondered off unattended.”
In a soothing voice, Legolas replied, “It’s quite alright.”
“I see that you have found the gardens?” Legolas said with a smile.
Chrissy answered, “Yes and they are very lovely. I am sure it will be my favorite place as I stay here in Mirkwood!”
Also adding, Chrissy stated, “I love to just sit for hours by a lilac bush, I feel so at one with nature.”
Legolas couldn’t believe his ears, “Where they deceiving him?” he thought. He knew Larien loved these gardens very much and she said the same thing to him.
Legolas asked, “Would thee like to freshen up?”
Laughed and Chrissy replied, “Sure, I need a bath from the fall and the fighting.”
Legolas laughed and with encouragement he said, “You did fight well while battling the Warg Rider!”
Chrissy smirked, “I hope I never see another one of things again!”
They walked out of the gardens and into a large hallway covered in gold and old portraits.
“It was so beautiful to actually be waking in a palace”, Chrissy thought.
They were in silence because her eyes were so caught up in the decorations of the palace and all the things she saw in the hallway.
Legolas was looking at her facial expressions as she stared all around. She knew of this place, it was so familiar and known in her heart she had been here before.
Legolas finally asked, “What do you think of my home?”
Chrissy replied, “ Your home is very lovely and I have never been to a real palace before! Back home palaces are a thing of the past and people don’t live in them, they are mainly for showing.”
Legolas gazed bewildered with what was said about palaces in her time.
They finally came to the room where the Lady would be staying. He opened the door and a female Elf was standing their waiting to assist the young woman.
It kind of took Chrissy off guard to see someone standing there waiting. She did not have a maid back home and was use to doing everything herself.
Legolas said, “This is Eluana your maidservant for the time that you stay here at Mirkwood.”
The woman gazed at the Elf and thought of how pretty she was, the long dark hair and big blue eyes. She wasn’t as fair as the other Elves she had seen but she was still pretty.
Chrissy said with a warm smile, “Hello” to the Maidservant.
The female Elf looked at the woman and smiled warmly at the female. Eluana said, “It’s a pleasure to meet ye, Mi Lady,”
Chrissy felt a bit uncomfortable with the maidservant but soon realized that everything would be fine.
Legolas turned and faced Lady Chrissy as he said, “I will return shortly, do not be frightened, thus are protected in these borders. Relax and take in the kindness of Eluana for she will care for your needs.”
With a confident look, Chrissy replied, “I will be alright, I am sure Eluana will keep me company until you return.”
Legolas asked, “Would you be needing the bag, I can have Eluana fetch it?”
Chrissy answered, “I almost had forgotten, yes that would be find, please give it to Eluana.”
Legolas stated, “I shall have Eluana gather out of my things and will place it on your bed.”
Smiled at Legolas and Chrissy said, “Thank You, I am sure that will be fine.”
With that, Legolas left Lady Chrissy with the maidservant. He was sure that she would fine without his company.
Eluana said to the young woman, “ I am going to lay some dresses out for you to try.”
Eluana stood there taking measurements of the size that the maidservant would need to pull out of the huge chest.
In wonderment, Chrissy asked, “Why do I need a dress?”
Replying Eluana said, “All guest fancy up for dinner when they are asked to attended.”
Chrissy asked, “Alright, but can I take a bath first?”
Eluana laughed and said, “Right this way, Lady Chrissy.
Chrissy was lead into another room that was connected to the room that she was staying in. Eluana laid a towel out in the chair near by. Shampoo and some soap were left for her on the edge of the bathing pool.
Chrissy thought, “This looks like a hot tub.” But quickly realized that she was in a different time.
Eluana asked, “Would you be needed anything else?”
Smiling Chrissy answered, “ I can’t think of anything else, just some time alone.”
Eluana laughed and stated, “I will return soon to help thee dress.”
Chrissy smirked, “Don’t come back to soon, I am going to need a good soaking.”
Eluana turned and left the bathing area.
Chrissy was finally alone but in a world she was unsure of at the moment. She shed the dirty clothes off and slipped into the inviting water.
Eluana knocked on the door, “ I need to gather the dirty clothing, and may I enter?”
Chrissy replied, “Yes just come.”
Chrissy stated, “That is kind of you to wash my dirty clothing, Thank you!”
But there was no eye contact and Chrissy thought it was weird.
Eluana opened the door and did not look at the young woman sitting the tub, she just came in and picked up the dirty laundry and left.
As she was lying in the tub, Chrissy let the hot water take over her senses. She just closed her eyes and enjoyed the hot bath.

Legolas knew his father was in the study and he knocked on the door. King Thranduil was engulfed in work that had piled up on his desk.
King Thranduil heard the knock and said, “You may Enter”.
While looking up from his work, King Thranduil said, “Ion (Son), it’s nice to see thee.”
With a quick smile, King Thranduil stated, “Elano spoke of your return.”
Legolas replied, “Uma, Ada.”
Legolas and his father talked about issues surrounding Mirkwood and other things that were going on in Middle Earth.
King Thranduil said, “Elano spoke about the lovely woman thee brought here to Mirkwood.”
Legolas looked at his father surprisingly, “Yes she is a rare beauty, father.”
With sadness in his voice Legolas said, “She reminds me of Larien, Ada”
King Thranduil knew of his sadness and how hard it was to go through it because of the pain he felt for Legolas’s mother. Thranduil loved his wife dearly that it hurt every time he thought about the day he had lost his companion.
King Thranduil replied with compassion, “What is thus, she has the fairness of Larien?” His father could not believe what he had just heard.
Legolas said, “Uma, thy woman does Ada, when I first came upon the woman in the forest, I thought these eyes were cheated by the rare sight.”
King Thranduil spoke, “I will be the judge if thus, woman, is truly Larien Anwamane, daughter of Lord Elrond.”
Legolas said, “Her name is not Larien, its Lady Chrissy.”
King Thranduil gave him a bewildered look, “I’ll let my own sight see tonight, be sure to introduce us.”
Legolas replied, “Uma, I shall, Ada.”
Legolas question with concern, “Is it wise, Ada, to notify Lord Elrond?”
King Thranduil pondered and finally answered, “I shall send Lord Elrond a letter of thee arrival to visit, Rivendell. Bring this young woman with you and he can decide what to do with the stranger.”
With that said, Legolas turned away from his father and towards the door, “I shall see you later this evening.”
King Thranduil gave him a smile and watched him walk out of the study.
Legolas was walking and realized that it had been quite some time since he had seen Lady Chrissy, so he went off in search of his lovely Lady.
Chrissy was so consumed with the hot bath that she didn’t realize that time had slipped away. She quickly washed her hair with the nice smelling shampoo and washed her body with the soap that was left for her by the side of the tub.
Chrissy got out of the bath and picked up the towel to dry off. She hit her forehead by accident and let out a small aching noise. She heard a knock at the door.
The maidservant had heard the woman’s aching in pain, “Are you alright, Mi lady?” Eluana said with empathy.
Chrissy replied, “Yes, I am fine, it’s just my head.”
Eluana came in and looked at the small but deep wound on the hairline.
Eluana said, “It’s healing nicely, you shall live.”
Winching in pain, Chrissy said, “It just hurts a little when I bump up against the cut.”
Eluana looked at the woman’s cut for a moment and helped her dress for dinner. Eluana had laid out some dresses for her on the bed.
Chrissy gazed at the room and thought, “This is such a beautiful room.” She noticed the way the bed had golden leafs, around the frame of the bed. Also the curtains and how they were made with the finest silk.
Eluana said softly, “Are you ready?”
Chrissy snapped back to her senses, “Sure, also, sorry for not paying attention to you, I was daydreaming in my head.”
Eluana questioned, “Its quite alright, I must say, you resemble someone I used to know.”
Chrissy stared at Eluana and didn’t say anything to the maidservant. Eluana took notice that the female had this ghostly look on her face.
Eluana put an arm around the young woman, “Are you well?”
Chrissy turned to look at the maidservant and said, “Yes, I am sorry, I was just thinking about what you had said to me a moment ago. I seem to be getting that a lot lately, Please continue.”
Eluana said with a soft tone, “Your resemblance of the late Larien Anwamane, daughter of Lord Elrond, is remarkable.”
Chrissy gasped at what Eluana had just spoken about and thoughts were on the young female in the dreams that had been called Larien.
Eluana looked at the woman’s reactions of the haunted face and contemplated, “She knows of Larien, daughter of Lord Elrond.”
Chrissy quickly changed the subject with the female elf, “I think I like this dress with the blue design on it.”
Eluana glared at the woman with a puzzled look and didn’t ask any more questions.
Eluana quickly said, “I believe this one suits your frame.”
The maidservant helped the young woman put on the dress. Chrissy slipped on the matching shoes that went with the blue dress.
They went over to the mirror to do something with the woman’s hair. Eluana put some of her hair back and let the long blonde curls hang down on her back.
Chrissy got up and reached for her bag that as on the bed. She pulled out some powder, lipstick and mascara. She went back to the mirror and put on the make-up.
Eluana did not know what to think about the way the young woman painted her face. Eluana watched the young woman put her things back in her bag.
Chrissy asked, “How do I look?”
Eluana said, “Beautiful, Mi Lady.”
Chrissy looked in the mirror one last time and saw the reflection that stared back at her own eyes.
Chrissy turned around and said, “Thank you so much.”
Eluana said with a smile, “You are welcome, Mi Lady.”
Then they both heard a knock at the door, Chrissy was going to get up to get it and Eluana said, “Its not polite for a Lady to answer a door in the Palace, Please, let thee get thy door.”
With a disapproved tone, Chrissy said, “Sure.”
Eluana opened the door to find Legolas standing there.
Legolas asked the maidservant, “Is Lady Chrissy ready?”
Eluana said with a smile, “She is ready, Prince Legolas.”
Chrissy came to the door and Legolas just stood there mesmerized at her beauty.
Legolas said in his Native tongue, “Lle naa vanima.”
Chrissy thought the Elfish language was beautiful to hear it spoken.
With an arm out, Legolas asked, “May I escort the lovely lady to dinner?”
Chrissy smiled so sweetly, “Only if you and I can stop by the gardens before dinner?”
With a giggle, Legolas answered, “Sure, just for the Lady, Me lamin.”
Chrissy took his arm, in hers freely and began walking down the hallway. They walked through another door to get to the gardens.
When they were outside, Chrissy stated, “I have been so happy the few days that I have been here in Middle Earth, it been a long time since I have felt happiness.”
With questioning eyes, Legolas asked, “Why are thee unhappy, A’melisse? (My Lover)
Chrissy replied, “My dreams, for a while, have haunted me and they were really getting to me, I thought I was going to loose my mind.”
Legolas stated, “Dreams are important, it speaks truth about your life.”
Chrissy pondered at what he had said for a moment but the lilac bush that could be seen straight ahead, quickly interrupted it. She let go of Legolas’s arm and ran over by the bush. He was startled by the excitement.
Legolas saw in the distances she was inhaling the sweet scent of the bushel of lilacs and soon joined her the moment. She was singing a sweet melody when he came over to where she was standing.
Chrissy took notice of this and thought, “Id better say a prayer or two while I am in Mirkwood forest for my safety.”
Legolas looked up and said, “Hello, Nin Meldir,”(My friend) to the guard elf standing in the trees.
