Chapter Four
Disclaimer: Nope, we don’t own them. Wish we did. This never happened (well, to the best of our knowledge), it’s just a figment of our twisted little imaginations. And we do hope that you enjoy it. :-D
Orlando blinked at the sudden brightness as the lights in the theater came back up. He rose to his feet, raising his arms above his head as he stretched his back. Wow, his butt was numb.
He frowned slightly, hearing sniffling sounds coming from further down the row. He glanced to his left, expecting Liv to be the one who’d cried.
He blinked. No, wait, was the sniffling coming from Elijah?
Though he had to admit. . .Pippin’s song had made his eyes tear up.
Billy was actually acting seriously for a change, looking at Elijah with concern. Shit. The movie broke him.
“Come on, my singing wasn’t that bad,” he whispered. Elijah laughed a little, and wiped at his eyes.
Then the applause from the audience started, and the various cast members started looking around. It was a strangely humbling experience.
Orlando rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly with one hand as he waved to the audience with the other. He still couldn’t get used to people applauding for him. Well, not entirely for him at this point, but still. . .who would’ve guessed a skinny white boy from Canterbury would become part of something like Lord of the Rings?
“Wow,” he muttered to Liv, whom he’d managed to snag a seat by. “I think they really liked it.”
As if there had ever been any doubt. . .
“Yeah,” Liv said softly, then swallowed hard, her eyes glistening. She seemed pretty overwhelmed.
Sean put a hand on Elijah’s shoulder, and the blue-eyed youth whipped around quickly.
“This is your fault,” he sniffled, then dove into a hug with his longtime castmate. Dom and Billy just looked at each other, knowing better than to screw around now.
A ways away, Viggo coaxed Peter to stand up. It didn’t take much coaxing. Numerous cast members immediately got to their feet in tribute to the man that had directed the colossal project. . . even if he was kind of dirty.
Orlando nudged Liv, smiling. “Hey, you don’t want your mascara to run.”
He rubbed at his eyes. He wasn’t crying, he just had something in them.
As he saw Peter standing up, he began to clap. Hey, he probably wouldn’t be as big a star if it hadn’t been for Peter casting him as Legolas.
“I don’t care about my mascara right now,” Liv said quickly, then spontaneously hugged him, leaning into him as if standing on her own was difficult. There was a lot of hugging going on in the room as the audience continued to cheer.
Orlando blinked for a moment, startled, and then wrapped his arms around Liv, hugging her tightly as if afraid to let her go.
“I’m gonna miss you,” he whispered. He should’ve told her how he felt. . .instead of pining away for her. Sigh.
“I’ll miss you too,” she said softly, lifting her head to look up at him.
Elijah finally pulled away from Sean and stood up, then the the crowd a bit of a wave. He noticed Orlando and Liv, but decided to ignore it: this was a great moment, and he wasn’t going to let some stupid, impossible crush ruin things.
Orlando licked his lips nervously as he tilted his head down to look at Liv. God, she was close enough to kiss. It would be a simple matter of leaning down ever so slightly. . .
He’d been halfway through the movement before he caught himself and pulled away slightly. No, she was married. It would be wrong. Damn his conscience.
Liv blinked at him, then shied away a little.
“We’ve got photos and stuff to do,” she said meekly. “We should get going.”
She turned, then immediately started laughing. The ‘hobbits’ were in a group hug, and Billy was giving Elijah a noogie.
“Yeah, right,” Orlando agreed, nodding.
He smiled slightly at Billy’s antics, then wondered if he could beg off doing the photos. He was feeling like shit again and he needed to get away from Liv, lest he follow through on that kiss. He didn’t want to ruin his friendship with her.
Liv disappeared into the crowd, despite her height, emerging next to the other guys. She hugged Elijah, who seemed more than a little surprised, especially when she kissed the top of his head.
Orlando felt a rush of jealousy. . .though he wasn’t sure who he was more envious of--Elijah for being kissed by Liv, or Liv for kissing Elijah. It was so confusing.
God, he needed to get out of there. Maybe some fresh air would help calm him.
He started moving toward the nearest exit, not even thinking about the possibility of fans following him.

Orlando sighed as he exited his bathroom in his hotel room. He’d just taken a long, relaxing shower and was now ready for bed. Clad only in a pair of boxer shorts, he rubbed his hair vigorously with a towel to dry it, then tossed the towel onto the back of a nearby chair.
“Here’s hoping I sleep better tonight,” he muttered as he pulled the covers back from the bed and turned out the light before flopping down onto the bed.
As he was just dozing off, he became aware of a presence in the room. The same familiar cold wind chilled the room as the woman from the night before once again stood at the foot of his bed.
“Orlando,” she breathed, her voice haunting.
He startled, sitting up and blinked. “Okay, this definitely isn’t a dream,” he said. It couldn’t be. He hadn’t had enough time to fall asleep. Right?
“Who are you?” he asked. “What did you do to me?”
“Nothing yet,” she assured him, smiling wickedly. “But I could do so much. She’s beautiful, this Liv. And there is a way to have her.”
Orlando swallowed nervously. “How do you know she’s beautiful? And what are you talking about?”
“We are joined, you and I,” she said, then leaned forward and began crawling up the bed toward him. “I can see through your eyes. I can sense your desires. She can be yours so simply. Her husband is nothing in comparison to what you could become.”
Orlando licked his lips, gulping. “What do you mean we’re joined?” he asked. “What are you? And why me?”
God, it was so tempting to just give in to the woman. He loved Liv so much. . .
“Because you’re special,” the wosaidsaid, caressing his face with a cold hand. “Because you’re beautiful. As for your other questions, the answers are too complicated for mortal minds.”
He shivered. “You’re cold.” Hadn’t Liv told him the same thing that very afternoon? This was all very frightening. . .yet intriguing in a strange way.
“What do you want from me?” he asked.
“The same thing I wanted last night,” she said seductively, leaning in to kiss him.
The phone rang.
“Shit,” Orlando mumbled, reluctantly pulling away from the woman. He fumbled for the phone, pressed it to his ear.
“Hello?”
“Yeah, Lij, I’m fine,” Orlando insisted. “I just had a headache and I’m still tired. Didn’t feel like socializing much.”
The mysterious woman nodded her approval of that.
“Oh. Okay,” Elijah responded, his response mixed. “Well, sweet dreams, I guess. Literally.”
“Thanks, Lij,” Orlando mumbled, faking a yawn. “I’ll talk to you tomorrow, mate. Bye.”
He hung up the phone before Elijah could respond and then looked up at the woman. “Will you at least tell me your name?”
“My name is Vanessa,” she said, smiling her approval at his actions. “Though why that matters to you, I don’t understand.”
“Because it doesn’t seem right to call you by another woman's name when you’re the one giving me the pleasure,” he said simply.
Despite his inner voice warning him to do otherwise, he placed one hand on the back of her neck and pulled her down so he could kiss her. Intrigue and desire overruled caution. He wanted this woman, though he couldn’t have explained why.
She responded eagerly, draping herself over him as she forcefully returned his kiss, her fangs pressing into his lips. Secrecy seemed less important now.
Orlando winced. Ouch, she had sharp teeth.
A faint suspicion tickled the back of his mind, but he brushed it aside. No way this lady was a vampire. They were just myths. They didn’t exist.
He slid his hands down her arms, slipping the sleeves of her dress off her shoulders.
She helped him get her clothing off, then relieved him of his own, hungrily staring into his eyes throughout the process.
“Tonight is goodbye, I fear,” she whispered.
He blinked. “Why?” he asked softly. He was suddenly pained by the thought of her leaving him. She couldn’t leave! She had to stay!
Why was he getting so emotional? He barely even knew her. . .and there were those unexplained bite wounds on his neck.
“Because you’re leaving tomorrow,” she reminded him gently as she slid down his body a little, then looked up at him as she licked his chest, distinct fangs glinting in the moonlight.
“Oh,” he said. Duh. The cast was flying to LA tomorrow for another premiere.
“Come with me,” he pleaded, shivering.
Then he frowned as he saw her fangs. “What the fuck?” he whispered, his desire suddenly replaced by fear as he scrambled up the bed away from her.
“Don’t be afraid,” she said, looking hurt. “Please don’t be afraid. I need you.”
He licked his lips nervously. “Need me for what?”
His hand went to his neck, unconuslyusly rubbing the bite wounds. “Please tell me you’re not really a vampire.”
She couldn’t be. . .vampires did not exist. She was just some woman with a kinky fetish. Yeah, that was it.
“I’ll tell you whatever you want,” she responded smoothly. “Just make love to me.”
She grabbed his legs urgently, her expression pleading.
“Please Orlando. Just once more. Please.”
He chewed at his lower lip as he warred with himself about what to do.
Finally, after a few moments, he nodded his acquiescence. “All right. Once more.”
She smiled gratefully, then slid onto her back next to him.
“Please. Take me,” she whispered.
He blinked. Well, this was different. He’d been expecting her to be on top again, but he could handle this.
“Your wish is my command,” he said as he covered her body with his, kissing her passionately.
“I want to come with you,” she murmured between kisses. “At least a part of me. I want to join with you. Be someone who will never leave you. Wouldn’t you like that?”
“Yes,” he gasped as he began to trail kisses down her body. “Please.”
As he kissed between her breasts, he slid one hand between her legs. He would hear her scream his name tonight.
She smiled at him, but it was a strange reaction. Like that part of her body was dead.
“You don’t need to do that,” she told him as she ran her fingers through his hair. “There are other ways to excite me.”
He frowned, looking confused. “How?”
“Drink of me,” she beckoned, curling back her lips to expose her fangs once again.
He shivered and found himself nodding as he crawled back up her body. He was entranced by her and no longer cared if she was a real vampire or not.
“Yes,” he whispered. “Whatever you want.”
He had a feeling he couldn’t have told her no, even if he’d wanted to.
“Let me feed a little first,” she whispered, then sunk her fangs into his neck before he could object, moaning as she did so.
He gasped, wincing a little at the pain, and his eyelids fluttering closed. He shivered, hearing her moan. “Vanessa,” he whispered for no other reason than he needed to say her name.
She drank her fill of him, draining him to the point of dizziness, then pulled away, stroking his face and neck adoringly.
“Your turn,” she commanded gently, then drew blood from her chest, above her left breast, witr fir fingernail.
There was a knock at the door.
“Ignore it,” she ordered.
He found himself nodding, then blinked his eyes as the room spun a little. Whoever was at the door could just go away. It was probably Elijah or one of the others, worried about him. Well, he was just fine, thank you very much.
He licked the blood from her wound with his tongue, then covered it with his mouth and began to drink.
“Orli, open the door! Now!” Elijah called from the hall. The words were followed by another round of knocking.
“Shhhh,” Vanessa soothed, stroking Orlando’s hair. “He’ll go away. Just ignore him.”
Orlando continued to drink, his hands tightening on her arms as he moaned in the back of his throat.
The sounds of knocking continued. Fuck! Why wouldn’t Elijah go away? He was BUSY!
There was quiet in the hallway for a moment, then the unmistakable sound of a key card opening the lock on the door. He’d hated doing it, but Elijah had been worried for his friend’s safety, and had scammed a key to his room out of the girl at the front desk. Apparently Orlando WASN’T the only heartthrob from the movie. Weird.
Orlando’s eyes widened as he heard the lock being opened and he reluctantly pulled away from Vanessa. “Fuck,” he groaned. “Lij.”
God damn it! Couldn’t the blasted kid take a hint?! He was getting lucky with a beautiful woman!
The worries he’d had about her earlier in the day had completely evaporated.
Elijah’s eyes widened when he saw the notable amount of bleeding both Orli and this weird mystery woman were doing at the moment.
“Get away from him, you monster!” he exclaimed, even though he was officially terrified. This was way worse than orcs! WAY WORSE!
“Oh look. A snack,” Vanessa said menacingly, licking her lips. “Here little one. Come to me.”
“Lij, it’s not what you think,” Orlando insisted as he rolled onto his side to look at his friend.
He didn’t even bother to cover up his nakedness as he smiled at Elijah. “Lij, this is Vanessa. She’s just got a weird, kinky fetish, that’s all.”
“Oh. Great. That’s all?” Elijah asked as he moved toward the table next to the bed. He wasn’t even thinking about Orlando being completely fucking NAKED, because there was a VAMPIRE in the room!
He yanked the door to the bedside table open and grabbed the bible inside it, then tossed it on the bed.
“Just let her hang onto that and I’ll be convinced,” he said challengingly.
Vanessa glared at him hatefully.
“Don’t touch it, Orlando,” she hissed, eyeing the bible with a hint of fear.
Orlando glanced at Vanessa, then at Elijah, scowling. “Elijah, I appreciate the concern, but I’m fine. Besides vampires don’t exist. They’re just myths, stories made up by parents long ago to scare their kids into behaving.”
Yes, denial wasn’t just a river in Egypt.
“Great. She touches the book, I leave,” Elijah insisted, crossing his arms.
“I tire of this,” Vanessa said murderously. “He dies.”
She leapt over Orlando and lunged at Elijah, going for his throat. Elijah stumbled back as she grabbed him, fighting futilely against her attack.
“No!” Orlando cried, pouncing on Vanessa and wrestling her away from Elijah. “Please. He’s my friend. He just doesn’t understand.”
He looked at Elijah with pleading eyes. “Please, just go. It’s okay.”
“You’re BLEEDING, Orli!” Elijah protested.
“He understands too well!” Vanessa hissed, shoving Orlando away from her. “It no longer matters. Soon enough, you’ll belong to the night. And to me. Your ‘friend’ is too late.”
With that, she transformed herself into anie mie mist and was gone. Even her clothing faded away.
Orlando blinked, shaking his head. Whoa, the dizziness had returned. “Fuck, Elijah,” he hissed, sitting down on the edge of the bed. “I can take care of myself.”
Although her disappearing act had been a little strange. Neat, but strange. Maybe she really was a vampire. . .
Elijah’s eyes widened in surprise, and he stood there stunned for a moment.
“But. . .” he began, then shook his head. His expression hardened. “Fine, Orli. Have it your way. But you might want to do something about your neck before you bleed to death. . .oh wait. I forgot. You can take care of yourself.”
With that, he left the room.
Orlando frowned, Elijah’s comment stinging. He shook it off, then touched his neck, feeling the blood. Yeah, he probably should do something about that. . .
He sighed, then headed into the bathroom, flipping on the light. He winced as the sudden brightness hurt his eyes.
“Fuck,” he muttered, trying to remember basic first aid. He finally grabbed a hand towel from the rack and pressed it to his neck. At least he thought that was what he was supposed to do.
He wondered if Vanessa would come back now that Elijah was gone. He hoped so. He missed her.
The vampire woman did not return, however, despite the howling of wolves in the distance. She’d gotten what she’d come for. She saw no need to return.
Eventually the bleeding stopped and Orlando applied some Neosporin that he always carried around on the wounds. He sighed, switching off the light as he exited the bathroom. He crossed over to his bed, flopping down onto it.
After tossing and turning for what seemed an eternity, he finally fell into a restless sleep, his dreams plagued with images of Vanessa.
