Aftershocks
Chapter 4 - Aftershocks
Aragorn ran to his wife’s side. “What are you thinking?! What if that wasn’t enough?” Aragorn questioned.
“Then I best go back and bed him.” Arwen rolled her eyes.
“YOU WILL NOT!”
“Estel! Enough. He wasn’t ready. He needs more then physical contact. He needs love. We can give him that.” She continued to walk her flowing gown appearing as a mist that followed her. Her footfalls not heard. Aragorn watched as she turned the corner. His black boots heavy against stone as he approached behind her and grasped her shoulders.
“I am still worried, my wife.” His eyes shone a dark blue.
“Go and invite him to our bed tonight, my king. Tell him we wish not to bed him only to hold him. And tell him I will not take no for an answer!” She glided into their room and prepared herself for bed.
She sat on the edge of the bed and undid her hair from her tight bun. Every hair on her hair screamed relief from the pressure. Her hands came up to massage her skull. They were so relaxing that she almost forgot that she needed to change before the king and prince arrived. She undid the front buttons on her long cloak and dress and they fell around her ankles in a wave of ivory silk. She reached into her closet and removed her silk sleeping clothes. She pulled the dress over her head and tied the string in the front. She paced over to the bed and pulled the large thick blanket back and crawled beneath the soft sheets.
Aragorn angrily stormed back to Legolas’ room. How dare she?! In our bed! All his anger faded as he stepped closer and looked through Leafs door to see that he hadn’t move from where they left him.
“He hasn’t moved, laddie. He did whine after you both left. I had not the heart to comfort him.” Gimli stated weakly.
Aragorn placed both his hands on the dwarfs slumped shoulders. “Go to bed, Gimli. I will take care of him this night.”
Gimli nodded slowly and stood on short tree trunk legs. He slowly made his way down the hall and disappeared behind the corner.
Aragorn turned his head and his eyes met slightly slanted watery blue eyes. “AH!” Aragorn fell to the corridors floor. Legolas smiled and clapped his hands together. “Did I scare you?”
Aragorn slowed his heart and took a deep breath. “No. I just decided that the floor was more comfortable then my haunches and plopped myself down…” He rolled his eyes. Legolas’ smile was a ghost of what it was before he had started to fade but at least it was there. Aragorn stood and outstretched his hand.
Legolas looked confused at the action and gently placed his hand in that of Aragorn’s. When he felt Leafs cold hand touch his he grasped it lightly and watched as Legolas lifted his leg over the splintered wood and the prince gazed deeply into his eyes. Aragorn bent down and lightly brushed his lips against the pale ones in front of him. He slowly backed up again and watched as Legolas brought his hand to his lips and gazed in amazement. Aragorn realized in short that short instant that his friend truly loved him. He led the amazed elf to his chambers and almost had to shove him inside. He slowly laid the prince into the bed beside his queen and then in a few short moments laid there himself. Once he noticed the troubled elf’s eyes close he succumbed to the rest.
A/N= Sorry that took so long to get out and I am sorry its so short...I hope y'all can forgive me.
