The old ways 35

Haldir sighed and closed his eyes for a second. He tried to push the feeling of fear and uncertainty aside and remember the feeling of Legolas’ hands on his body, his voice in his ear and his laughter in his face. His eyes were open when he slipped into the dream world.

The sun was warm and its rays sparkled and glittered on the gently moving surface of the river Anduin. Haldir smiled happily as he carried two large wooden baskets to the boat waiting at the shore. A large blanket and two bottles of wine were already placed underneath a piece a white linen, so the sun wouldn’t warm it to quickly. He placed the baskets at the opposite end and went to fetch his beloved.
Legolas sat waiting near their talan on a stump and wondered was Haldir was up to. It haen aen a rather uncomfortable week he had endured, while he was with Gandalf and two other healers who were treating him for his fertility. The herbal concoctions had made him sick and his body felt tired. He knew the worst bit was yet to come, even though Gandalf and Celonniar, the head healer of Lothlorien had told him that the last part would both be painful and pleasurable. And Haldir had to perform it.
Haldir walked up to his husband and smiled at him. He circled around Legolas and when he stood behind him he tied a satin scarf around his head blinding him.
He heard Legolas chuckle and reach out for him. Haldir took him by the hands and carefully led him through the forest to the waiting boat. When he had seated Legolas in it, Haldir pushed them off and paddled them a short distance stream down to the other side. When he had reached the place he had chosen, he tied the boat to a tree and helped Legolas out of the boat. While the prince stood waiting, Haldir prepared what he had brought along with him. He studied the setting and when he was satisfied with his work he brought Legolas over and sat him down on the ground. Then he removed the scarf and kissed Legolas tenderly.
Legolas blinked once staring at the feast that was laid out around him, and then glanced at Haldir. "You looked like you needed some rest and I wanted to put your mind on the other things. And I wanted to get away from all these elves poking around at you for some time. I hope you don't mind. You looked so tired and worn out. Maybe I can lift your spirits a little."
The young prince smiled gratefully at Haldir and moved himself into a more comfortable position. Before he could reach for the filled bread, Haldir stopped him and pushed Legolas down on the ground. "No, you don't have to do anything today. Let me serve you."
"Haldir, no .... really. I can do that ...."
"Shhh..., melthron n? You are my guest today. I want to do this. You do so much for me, now let me do something for you."
Legolas smiled and gave in. He rolled onto his side and propped himself up on his left elbow. "If you are so eager to serve me, then I command you to feed me with some of that delicious bread I see over there. And after that I wouldn't mind some fresh juice."
Haldir cut of a slice of the bread filled with freshly cooked vegetables and herbs, and fed it to the princes’ lips. Legolas smiled at him and chewed carefully, he liked the idea of telling Haldir his wishes and watch him putting them into action. He just wondered how much he could wish. Thoughts and imagination of tender or passionate moves slowly trickled into his mind and he felt himself grow hard beneath his clothes. Legolas cocked his head and gestured towards the fresh juice with his chin.
Haldir complied and handed his beloved a goblet, bowing his head slightly. The prince accepted it gracefully and let the cool, fresh liquid run down his throat. He felt refreshed and much better than just a few hours before, and he loved Haldir for bringing him here as a diversion from the perils he had to suffer during the last weeks.
He placed the goblet down and stretched out on his back "I feel rather warm. Take my shoes off. And maybe my tunic as well. The sun shines rr str strong today, don't you think so?"
Haldir suppressed a grin and moved obligingly toward Legolas’ feet. After he had removed the soft leather shoes, Haldir massaged the slender feet lovingly and smiled when he saw Legolas closing his eyes with enjoyment. After a few minutes Haldir took Legolas hands in his and pulled him up into a sitting position. Legolas kept his eyes closed and waited for Haldir's next action. True to his word, Haldir unfastened the bindings of Legolas’ tunic and carefully removed it, lifting the shining blond hair out of the way.
"There, does this feel better?" Haldir helped Legolas down to the ground again.
"Yes, thank you." The blond elf smiled and opened his bright blue eyes again. "But are you not warm yourself?"
Haldir shook his head slightly, there was something menacing glittering in Legolas' eyes and he didn't quite know what to make of it.
