CH 34~A vision that would save a life.

Jenny and Chrissy filled there days with helping out around Rivendell to playing games with Arwen. There days grew with worry as they longed to see there lovers once again.
Chrissy began running everyday to help keep the weight off as she knew that it would eventually catch up to her by the way she was eating. The twins helped her learn a few new things about the sword and how to shoot an arrow correctly.
Weeks had gone by and they never heard from there Elves. Jenny and Chrissy began to worry as to why it had been so long before they had any news.
They were asking Lord Elrond every other day on a status of the war that took place in Mirkwood. He did not have any answers for the two females. He too began to get worried about the lands of King Thranduil and he sent out a rider to see if everything was alright.
Haldir rode throughout the night and into the next day when in the distance he saw a Rivendell rider. He guided the horse over to where the other rider was and he stopped him.
“What news do you have from Rivendell?” Haldir asked.
“Lord Elrond worries and wished to know what the status is on the war, Mi Lord.” The rider answered.
The two hurriedly went back into Mirkwood and did not stop until they reach the gates.
A few days had went by since the rider had been sent out and he finally return with Haldir. The two raced up the stairs, the rider went to seek Lord Elrond and Haldir went in search of Lady Chrissy.
He found her sitting in the gardens with Arwen and Jenny. The two stood up and ran over to Haldir.
“Where is Orlando?”
“Where is Legolas?”
Haldir smiled as he did not wish to tell him the new he so dreaded to say.
“Jenny, Legolas is fine! But Orlando on the other hand…let us council into the study, Lady Chrissy.” Haldir stated nervously.
Chrissy followed Haldir into the study and that is where he told her about Orlando.
“Orlando was fighting several Orc’s when he got caught and fell….Legolas is out searching for him….its been days….I am sorry to tell you this…” Haldir stated with much grief.
Chrissy sat there and stared into the Haldir’s face. She could not believe the news that he was sharing. It was not true…he was not dead or she would have felt……then she recalled her dream.
Tears fell from her eyes, “He isn’t dead….I would know…take me to where he fell…please….I know I can find him.” She pleaded.
“Legolas and I agreed that you could help find him…and heal him of his wounds.” Haldir stated.
Chrissy thoughts, “What did he just say? I only have the power to heal myself…Oh yeah…Lady Galadriel said that my mother healed many…I would if I can do the same…”
Chrissy did not say a word but went in search of Lady Galadriel. She approached her chambers and knocked on the door. To her surprise, she was waiting on her to arrive.
“My child, I have been expecting you.”
Lady Galadriel moved to let Lady Chrissy in as she began to speak.
Chrissy went into the room, “I don’t have much time. Tell me how am I to use this power to heal others? I have only healed my self…”
“I have foreseen him fall in my mirror. He needs you to save him…this power can only be welded with the right touch. First you must make a decision to take the potion that I had given you and then you will know what the next step is…Go to him…follow your heart and it will guild you to him…be warned…you carry a child…it will take all your strength to heal him…Go to him now…” Lady Galadriel stated.
“What does that mean? Will I hurt my unborn if I save him?” Chrissy asked.
Lady Galadriel hesitated, “You took the chance when you warned him not to leave and he did not take heed of your news. I only know this, if your body is strong enough…it will save both your child and Prince Orlando…right now…I cannot answer your question…This riddle can only be answered by you…You have a decision to make…what path shall you choose?”
It was all so confusing and trying to wade through what Lady Galadriel said was causing her mind to explode. But in this madness, Chrissy knew what path she wanted to take and exited the room.
Lady Galadriel watched her leave and prayed to the Valar that she would give her understanding. She also prayed that she would have the strength to save them both.
Haldir did not understand why she did not answer him and had left them room in shock. Then, Lady Galadriel entered his mind as she spoke these words.
“Haldir, take her safely into Mirkwood and follow her instincts…she will know where to find Prince Orlando…Help her to understand…She will need you before it is over…Take Jenny with you…Chrissy life depends upon it…”
Haldir knew that they would be leaving and would need a few supplies before they left. He also had to convince Jenny to come along and knew that Legolas had instructed that she not be there right now.
But he had orders from Lady Galadriel and Legolas would have to forgive him for not obeying his command. He went in search of Lady Jenny as he headed to the stables he saw Jenny in the dark.
“Jenny, you are need on this Journey into Mirkwood. Please go and gather what little you need. Meet me back here in a few moments. We will ride as soon as the two of you are ready.” Haldir asked.
She searched his eyes and knew that something terrible had happened to Orlando and oddly she did what he asked.
“Sure. Is this because of Orlando and what to him happened?” Jenny asked.
Haldir replied, “He fell in battle and is now missing. That is all I can share with you.”
Jenny felt sadness come over her and turned to run inside to gather her things. She hurriedly rummaged through her room for a few items that she needed and headed down the stairs to met Haldir in the stables.
Chrissy hurriedly walked to her room as she felt this pain in her chest. It was so vigorous that it caused her to loose her breathe for a moment. She knew that Orlando was hurt badly and began to cry softly.
“Hold on my love. I am coming to save you.” She said into the empty room.
By her bedside laid the vale that Lady Galadriel had give her and the time had come when she had to choose. In her heart she knew what path to take but in her mind she struggled with the decision.
Then she remembered the life that grew inside of her and knew that it was time to think of someone other than herself. She popped the top and drank the liquid inside.
For a moment she thought, “Well I don’t feel any different. Maybe it takes time for this stuff to work.”
Regardless, it did not matter and she gathered her things as she exited the room.
Lord Elrond got word that the Mirkwood lands had victory over the Orc’s but grew worried when his rider to him that Prince Orlando had gone missing.
Then a vision came over him, he saw Lady Chrissy struggling to get away from an Orc and he had her pinned up against a tree. She could not break free and the Orc pierced her through the stomach area with his sword. Orlando had already been healed and fighting off some Orc’s that were left in the area. He caught sight of the Orc and screamed when he saw the sword slice through her body. He ran over to her and cried as he held onto her broken body.
“Do not leave me, love. Heal yourself…” He saw the blood flow up from her mouth.
Blood was flowing from the sides of her mouth, “I..cann..ot…save us both…”
“Then save yourself”, Orlando cried out.
Darkness over shadowed in her eyes, “It’s…too…late!”
She would not save herself because this child was her gift. Chrissy would die with her child. She died in Orlando’s arms…
He wept loudly, “NO! Do not take her from me….and my child.” He glanced up to the Valor.
Legolas ran over to see the awful screams that came from his brother.
“This cannot be…” Legolas stated as he bent down to see Lady Chrissy dead in his brothers arms.
He could do nothing in his vision except watch the horrible death.
Lord Elrond finally retracted from the vision that had been given to him as he had to change that future or at least alter it. He recalled elvish steal that would protect her body as he gathered it in his arms. He ran from his chambers in search of Lady Chrissy.
Chrissy hurried down the halls and met Lord Elrond as she was trying to leave but he stopped her from going by.
In a panic, “Wait! I have something to give you before you leave. Please take this as it will aid you in your search and if you are attacked, it will protect you.” Lord Elrond stated as he placed it in her hands.
Chrissy took the elvish chain vest, “What…Thank you Lord Elrond. This is an unexpected gift.”
With concern in his eyes, “Please take your leave as his time is fading.” Lord Elrond stated.
Chrissy finally went down by the stables where Haldir had the horses ready. She noticed Jenny was saddled up and ready to go. But she did not have time to ask why she was coming.
Chrissy said hurriedly, “Let us leave, now….right away….”
She got on her horse as they rode to Mirkwood. If it took all night, she would not rest until he was found and safe with in her grasps.
Orlando had fallen unconscious when he finished off the beast. The current had taken him into Fangorn forest where it washed him a shore. He laid there for hours and then days until he began to see a form of light out of his blurry vision.
He did not move because the arrow was lodged deep within the lung and one wrong move would send him into shock. Blood was pooling around the arrow and streamed onto the ground.
Orlando thought about everyone that he was going to miss and then Chrissy came into his mind. His heart began to hurt when he thought about what he said to her before he left Rivendell and he cried out to the Valar.
He spoke into the air, “Why have you forsaken me?” asked the shaken Orlando.
Tears streamed down his face and realization hit his mind that he probably would not live to see his unborn child. But it was the risk he took when he vowed an oath to his uncle.
In the mist of him cry out to the Valar, he thought he had heard her voice in the wind.
“Hold on my love. I am coming to save you”, the voice echoed in the breeze.
Searching the forest, “My luv, is that you in the distance?” Orlando asked.
But he heard nothing and the poison had caused him to fall unconscious once again as nightfall had approached
They did not stop unless it was necessary. Haldir was surprised that Lady Chrissy and Jenny was making the Journey as well as they did.
It seemed like an eternity but they finally they arrived as Chrissy heard arrows fly in the distance. As the Mirkwood guards were taking care of the last few Orc’s that roamed through there lands.
