CH 30~A new life and an old life clide.
As Chrissy walked in, it was very overwhelming to see his private room. She often wondered what it was like to stand in such a wonderful, yet mysterious room that held many secrets. Then she saw Lady Galadriel motioning for her to come and sit.
Chrissy walked over and sat down next to the powerful female elf.
Urgency filled her tone, “I have some news to share with you and it may not be suiting to your ears. I sense great apprehension in you, child! Nonetheless, it has to be revealed why you are here in Middle Earth.” Lady Galadriel stated.
Chrissy gave a look of disbelief to Lady Galadriel when she spoke about a great fear inside of her. She knew that what Lady Galadriel said was true and it hurt to know that this great Elf could see it deep with in her soul.
Trying to be brave, “I know of this great fear you talk about, Lady Galadriel. I feel it every day as this gift of healing bears a burden on me. I do not understand why I have it or where it comes from. At times, it’s been very overwhelming in my world knowing I had this gift but did not really now how to use it.” Chrissy said with much confusion.
Smiling upon her, “Your mother, Queen Sainalinde, had this powerful gift of healing also and did great things with what was past down through out her family. Her name means ‘graceful light.’ Your mother and I were kin, we were second cousins. Then she eventually became part of the Ancient Elven tribe of the Fangorn forest. This is where she married your father, King Tathar Carnesir as he a mighty, yet a powerful warrior. His name means ‘One whom walks with the Trees.’ These trees were called Ents as they gave protection over his lands.” Lady Galadriel said as she recalled.
Chrissy’s asked with tears following down her eyes, “My parents, I had parents….of royalty and of Elven decent. No wonder Jenny and I could go through the portal.”
With seriousness in her tone, “It was no accident that day when you entered through the great mirror that passes from Middle Earth to your world. It was fate that brought Jenny and yourself back to your true home. You now have a different path that will lead you to make a decision, however, I sense that you may be at a cross road and you will have to decide which path you will take.” Lady Galadriel warned.
Focusing on those words, “You are right about the cross road, Lady Galadriel. Telling me this…is very overwhelming. I have something to ask you, back in my world, I took something that is called fencing, it is what you call wielding a blade in his time. However, I was at the top of my class and was very good at this sport. Why is that? Was I taught when I was in Middle Earth?” Chrissy asked out of curiosity.
Lady Galadriel replied, “You have great strength that lies in thy very blood line. Your father was a strong warrior and when you were just an elfling he taught you the skill of the blade. Your mother and father wanted to make sure you were well trained in case of such a thing as war. If though you were of a royal up bring, you could still die by the sting of metal.”
Chrissy was lost in her thoughts as she asked, “What were my parents like? What ever happened to them?”
A smile came over her face, “Your parents were wonderful kind souls who were very happy when you arrived. They through a huge celebration for you’re Christening and requested all that they knew in Middle Earth to share in there joy. Lady Jenny was born around the same time you were and the two of you became great friends. One year your parents threw you a grand party and invited all the male elves in the surrounding kingdoms. This is where you met Prince Orlando and Prince Legolas. Except, you have no memory of this. However, I shall save this story for another time.” She paused.
Chrissy face grew with confusion, “You mean I’ve met Orlando before? I can not recall this? Are you sure? Wait he is the one I dream about next to a pond…we are laughing and smiling…in those dreams we are children...”
Lady Galadriel smiled, “The both of you were inseparable as Elflings and as I recall were madly in love then...it is quite natural for you to be drawn to him now…however, he has no memory of you either.”
Chrissy thoughts, “Orlando and I were together as children…or Elflings…no wonder I have such a strong connection to him…when we met for the first time…I felt love…”
She continued, “Your parents had the North side of Fangorn forest and Lady Jenny’s parent’s had the South end of the forest. The two of you were always together and your parents as well as Jenny’s were great friends. Jenny’s mother, Queen Erwin was your mother’s sister. She had dark features and your mother had the fair features. (She paused.) Unfortunately, war rang on there door step and your parents lands were over turned by many Orc’s as it came by surprise. It was your mother who saved you and Jenny that horrible day. She secretly placed a magical potion in your goblets and sent you into another world.” Lady Galadriel stated.
Concern flashed across her face, “My parents were killed by nasty, disgusting Orc’s, how horrible. (Orlando flashed in her mind) Whatever happened to Orlando’s father?” She asked rather curious.
Lady Galadriel’s eyes grew with sadness, “Prince Orlando, his father, King Sabula Greenleaf, had his own territory, Dunland, just over the mountains of Fangorn forest. He was King Thranduil’s brother and the two had not spoken in many years. There quarrel was over a maiden that was of Elven decent and man kind. King Thranduil did not want him to marry such a female. A day came when King Sabula’s lands were overpowered by Orc’s. King Thranduil never forgave himself that day when Prince Orlando came to his lands, broken and without a home. He took young Orlando under his wing and he became the foster son of King Thranduil.”
Chrissy’s face was filled with despair, “All if this is extremely sad and hard to swallow. What becomes of me now?”
Lady Galadriel noticed the sadness in her tone, “Your choice is in this vile, and it holds the past and future. This is your cross road and what ever you choose let it be from your heart. When you’re ready, you will know when to take this potion.”
Lady Galadriel handed Chrissy the vile. She also handed something else to Lady Chrissy that was a surprise.
Lady Galadriel yanked something off her neck, “I have another gift for you. It twas your father’s ring that he wore when he was married to your mother and I am quite sure he would want you to have it,” as she handed it to Lady Chrissy.
Chrissy took the necklace that had the ring attached to it and she read what the inside said, ‘My love will be with you always,’ how romantic.”
Lady Galadriel wished her much happiness in what path she took because she had another engagement to attend as she and Chrissy walked out of Lord Elrond’s office.
It was getting dark in Rivendell and Chrissy began to get sleepy. She walked up the stairs, down the hall and closed the door behind her while she twirled the ring in her hand.
Then, walked over to the bed and sat down. She stared at the ring and the vile for a while before she placed them on the night stand. But decided to take the ring and place it around her neck before she lay down on the bed.
She grew tired and knew it was because of this little life that grew inside of her tummy. She smiled and then thought about Orlando. It made her cry knowing that he was not around to hold her or even share this wonderful news. She cried herself to sleep as she longed for his touch.
Orlando searched every where that he thought she would be right now. Little did he realize, she was fast asleep in her new room and he walked back into there old room. It was almost dark and he would be leaving soon.
He walked out to the balcony where it was raining and prayed to Valar that she appear to him before he left. Just then, in the darkness he saw Lady Chrissy running in a panic. He knew something must be wrong and he ran out of the room in search of his maiden.
In a dream Chrissy was on a journey to the pond that Orlando had taken her many times. But he was not there and in the distance she heard a baby crying.
She ran to find where the sound was coming from and stumbled upon a battle. There were arrows flying over the top of her head and the sounds of metal clinging every where. She was in the middle of a battle and heard the crying again.
Once again, she was in search of this mysterious baby that was crying and was lead to an open field where she saw a male lying on the ground in a pool of blood.
Chrissy ran over to help the male and to her surprise it was Orlando. She looked down to see a poisoned arrow had pierced his heart and was barely alive. She tried to shake him but his body was limp and unresponsive.
He was already dead and she began to cry. “No you cannot be dead…I didn’t even get to tell you about our baby. Please come back to me…I need you,” Everything around her went black as she heard crackling sounds.
She woke up at the sounds of thunder striking outside and cried out his name, “Orlando! What have I done?”
