A short time later, the twins returned and sat down. Elladan let out a
heavy sighed and popped a cherry into his mouth "He is sleeping, he
woke
and was far to distressed for my liking, so I gave him a sleeping
draft. Oh, and Adar...he is lighter then the last time I had to carry
him"

Elrond nodded and shook his head "I will inform the cook that she needs
to deliver food to him...at least until he gets the hint and the
interruptions become to annoying and he goes and seeks his meals on his
own"

The twins nodded in agreement and Elrohir smiled "Hannon le Lord
Glorfindel, your help was...well...helpful"

The four of them chuckled and slowly began to eat. After a few, Elladan
sat back and tilted his head "So Adar, what did the message say?"

Elrond rolled his eyes and groaned as he uncrumpled the scroll "Aye, I
completely forgot" then began to read.

After a few moments, Elronds jaw dropped and the scroll fell from his
hands as he just blankly starred off.

The twins frowned and leaned forward ""Adar?""

Elrond blinked and sat back "I...I uh...I am to be bonded"

The twins gasped and stood abruptly ""What?!""

Glorfindel calmly gestured for them to sit and gently placed his hand
on Elronds shoulder "I take it that this was...unexpected?"

Elrond nodded and swallowed hard "Oropher...a long time ago...he
uh...we...there was a contract. I was to bond with Thranduils youngest.
I met her once, when she was but two years from her majority. She was
kind and showed much promise. But Oropher perished and I thought...and
I thought the contract was voided with his death. I then bonded with
Celebrien. I...I guess I thought wrong. Thranduil is calling upon me to
fulfill my part in
the contract"

Elrohir shook his head and whispered "You...you mean naneth was not
your first
choice?"

Elrond smiled sadly and looked at his sons "There was no true choice in
my bonding with your naneth as well. It was a political bonding, as
this one would have been...err...will be. It is to ensure the stability
between the two realms. Granted I came to love your naneth and..."
Elrond blinked as he slowly closed his mouth and again, starred off in
shock.

Glorfindel stood and motioned for the twins to follow "Tul, let us
leave your adar to his thoughts". Once in the hall, he turned and place
a hand on each of the twins shoulders "I know you do not know me well
enough to heed my advice but..."

Elladan raised his hand and shook his head "We feel we have gotten to
know you quite well over the past few months as we showed you our
borders, and you have become dear to us, like Erestor, we consider you
to be family"

Elrohir stepped forward and nodded "Nai, besides...you are Glorfindel,
reborn lord of Gondolin. Who would be dense enough Not to heed your
advice, you are probably the oldest and wisest elf in all of Arda"

Glorfindel narrowed his eyes and arched his brow as he squeezed the
younger twins shoulder "Hannon le for reminding me of my age
penneth...that will be extra sword practice for you...now, as I was
saying, your adar needs your support at this time, arranged bondings
can be quite frightening, and the fact that your adar has already been
bound, and has two almost grown ions...you are very lucky that King
Thranduil did not insist that one of You bond with his youngest. You
are princes after all and closer to her age. Support your adar, and
welcome this elleth. Your adar will need your strength and love"

The twins dually lowered there heads and nodded. As Glorfindel silently
walked away and disappeared down the hall, Elrohir turned and tilted
his head "Ella, do you think he was serious about the extra sword
practice?"

Elladan chuckled and nodded "Nai, if there is anything I have learned
about Glorfindel over these past few months...is that he does Not jest
about training"

~On the way to Rivendel~

Thranduils caption rode up beside him and sighed "My lord, the chains
are not holding, should I add more?"

The king growled as he turned his horse around. Once he reached the
cart holding his youngest daughter, he leapt onto it, tightened the
chains and yelled "Daro! Cease attempting to flee! You are going to
bond with Elrond!"

Legolas rode up and winced as he glanced into his sisters eyes and
thought 'Aye, they are loosing there shine' then looked to his father
"Adar saes, must this occur?"

Thranduil shot Legolas a stern look "Not you as well! It is bad enough
that she is acting this way...go check on your fellows!"
