Vampire 3/8
Title: Vampire 3
Author: scots_rock
Pairing: Monaboyd
Summary: AU, Dominic tries to teach Billy how to fight
Disclaimer: Vampire!Dom would be sooo HOTT, but no, all my imagination.
Feedback: is MONABOYDous! XD
Author's Notes: Rather short chapter. Hadn’t had much time lately. But, however, I hope you still enjoy!
Billy retired after some days from the shock of meeting a vampire. A real one. And that he was “the one”. And of course that he was about to get involved in the greatest battle on earth. If he thought this all over one more time he was beginning to feel a little bit nervous. Not to say terrified, afraid, panicked – and totally unprepared. He finally was in the possession of the famous silver sword of Van Helsing, by the way his ancestor, but that fact somehow didn’t make him happy. Not at all, to be honest. Instead he found himself sneaking behind Dominic, the vampire, around a big, empty warehouse at night time. Very amusing thing to do.
“Why does it always have to be an empty warehouse at night?”, Billy lamented shivering slightly because of the very cold February weather.
Dominic turned around to face him with a glimpse of annoyance shining in his eyes.
“Because one, we have room so I can teach you how to handle your new sword, and two, nobody will be able see us! Stop being such a lousy coward!”
“Ah’m not a coward! Ah’m just a little bit…tensed.”
“That’s almost the same.”, Dominic whispered back peering around a corner. “OK, no one’s there. Come on!”
He pushed open a little iron door and leaded the way down a narrow corridor into a big hall.
“Quite cozy, isn’t it?”, smiled Dominic.
“Yeah, right. Cozy.” Billy wasn’t at all looking forward to Dominic’s lessons.
“So, shall we begin then?”, asked Dominic back not reacting to the sarcasm in Billy’s voice and put out his sword.
~***~
“Right foot! Right! Not left! How many times do I have to tell you? Do you even know the difference between right” – he held up his right hand – “and left?” – he held up his left hand – “I’m loosing my nerves!”
The last four hours had been a “waste of time” to quote Dominic here.
“You aren’t concentrating hard enough! If you don’t learn to control the sword it will never lead you to victory. It will start controlling you!”
Billy shot him a furious glance. He threw his sword angrily to the ground. It slid some meters on the stone floor before coming to halt right in front of Dominic’s feet.
“Ah quit. Ah won’t do this. This is just crazy and insane! Yeh want me to do things Ah’ve never done before! Stop behaving like some kind of God! Cause ye’re not!” Billy’s loud and screaming voice echoed through the hall. “Face the reality, Dominic! Ye’ve found the wrong person to do that. Sorry to burst you bubble but Ah won’t let yeh turture meh any more.”
Billy leaned against an iron pillar and slid down to the floor. Sweat was pouring off him and flooded his eyes so that it burned and hurt. He couldn’t feel the muscles in his right arm. He wanted to lie down and rest. He felt weak and exhausted.
Suddenly Dom sat beside him.
“I know it’s hard. I’ve went through this process myself. Your grandfather may have been a nice person in his real life. But when he felt the sword in his hand he became brutal and severe. He didn’t allow me to rest or to take a short break, He expected 100 percent physical effort from me. I had to learn. I had to fight.” He turned his head to look at Billy. Green tired eyes were staring back at him. Dominic’s heartbeat fastened. “But it was worth it.” He lay an arm around Billy and pressed him softly against his own body. “I believe in you.”
Billy’s head rested on Dominic’s chest. He could hear his heart. His own was beating in the same tempo. Fast. Excited. Nervous. Billy’s tiredness grew with every second he lay in Dominic’s arms. Something was not right. Something was strange. But it wasn’t bad or wrong. It felt different, yes, but also good and reassuring.
Billy was scared. He knew that he had to be prepared for this battle. He had a feeling that he would not survive it. Billy thought that he would die in his last fight. His fingers gripped Dominic’s black shirt.
“Dom… Can Ah call you Dom?”, Billy asked with a stuttering voice.
“Yes, of course. What’s the matter?”
“Ah don’t wanna die…”
Dom’s lips touched Billy’s forehead softly. His hands began to tremble.
“You won’t.”, he whispered. “Cause I will be there. I will protect you.”
And he meant it.
