A Family Evening

~ If my grammar is terrible, please tell me nicely. It pains me when my 3 years of AP English and Honors English go to waste.

Also on side note, just to warn you people ahead of time, this story will contain NON-CON. Sorry to ruin all of your guys’ fun, but that is why this story is rated NC-17. For those of you who read this story on ff.net (unfinished, by the way), you should remember. =) Anyway, now that is out of my system, on with the show.

Chapter 2: A Family Evening

“Did you see the length of the line of people outside the walls?!” Prince Galassen exclaimed. “It was huge! ‘Tis by far the longest line I have seen!”

“And you should have seen the men,” Princess Elissa added. “Ugh! They were so hideous! Unshaven, barbaric, filthy... It was disgusting.” She turned to Legolas, who was sitting next to her. “Believe me, you would not want any of them.”

Legolas giggled. “Are they really that bad as you say?” she asked.

“Worse!”

King Thranduil slipped into the dining room and took a at at the head of the table. “I am sorry I am late, my children,” he apologized. “But I had to finish preparing for the ball that will take place in two days.”

“I can’t wait for the ball!” Elissa squealed. “We haven’t had one in fifty years!”

“You only want to attend the ball so you can show off you new dress and look for handsome elves!” Prince Darion accused.

Elissa gasped.

“Children,” Thranduil stepped in. “After a long day’s work, I just want a peaceful meal without any altercations among my children. At least wait until the end of the meal and you all take this outside of the dining table.”

The rest of the evening passed by without any complications.

Legolas frowned as she looked around. Her brothers and sister seemed to have disappeared after the meal, and she has no idea where they went. It seemed strange that they just left without any word. They were not going to plan a joke on her, she knew. She was the one who would pull all the pranks on them. They wouldn’t retaliate against her with one of their own pranks... would they? Of course they wouldn’t. She, after all, is the youngest and the princess; they wouldn’t dare try anything on her, risking that she would run screaming and crying to Ada. She searched through each of their bedrooms, found nothing. She searched the library, found nothing. Sighing, she tried the last room where she least expected them to be: the ballroom.

And that is where she found them. The room was slightly lit, but it had enough light to see across the room. In the middle of the ballroom was where she found all of her siblings. It seemed that they were practicing something. After watching them a bit more, she figured out they were rehearsing some sort of act. She quietly slipped into the room and stood at the corner of the ballroom, watching her siblings as they performed some laughable moves and lines.

It was Illiphir that spotted Legolas hiding in the corner. He had noticed a faint light shining from the corner, and he immediately recognized the elven light to be Legolas’s. “Leafling!” he called. “It seems you have found us.”

Legolas’s siblings all spun around, surprised at Legolas’s presence.

“That I did,” Legolas said, stepping forward from her corner. “What in Valar are you all doing?”

“Well, the ball takes place in two days,” Illiphir explained. “That gives us one more night and two more full days to practice the little play we made up.”

“Play?” Legolas questioned.

“Yes,” Illiphir confirmed as he strode over to her. Taking her by the hand, he led her to a table nearby them. Lifting her up by her slim waist, he gently set her on the table top. “Let us perform the play in front of you. You will be the first audience to see this.” He then bowed. “Ladies and gentlemen excluding the gentlemen and the rest of the ladies, may I present to you, ‘A Comical Relief,’ by the royal children of Mirkwood.”

Legolas laughed and clapped her hands as her siblings started to perform their one-act play.

~ So...the story is developing. The next chapter will be the ball. Unfortunately, the children will not be able to perform the play they made. You’ll see why...
