Coming to Terms
A/N: Someone left a review about how Haldir wouldn't act the way he did in previous chapters
but I feel he would. When I was pregnant the severity of the emotions and mood swings
took me offguard. So I extrapolated from my own expriences and thought that a male pregnant,
extreme emotions, and such would be ten times worse them mine. And Haldir is the most
repressed elf in Middle Earth so put those two together and you get an angst, emotion ridden
March Warden! LMAO. ;)
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Haldir paced inside his room trying to calm himself. He had always prided himself on keeping
his emotions in check. But it was like a monster living inside him, like a cancer eating at
him. These emotions and mood swings took him off guard. He tried and tried to keep them
locked up, but the more he tried the less he succeded. He knew it was from his pregnancy and
the chemical imbalance but he hated not being in control. He couldn't beleive that his
brothers felt the way they did. True he had never told them that he perferred men to women
but still. Would they support him? Love him? He worried and wondered for awhile when a knock
sounded at his door. He opened the door and Galadriel stepped inside. She embraced him
before she sat.
"I know how confused and frightened you must be. I know that you don't like to show emotion
but this is different."
"How can it be different?" Haldir snapped angry at all the riddles.
"You are used to keeping your emotions in check but you can't do that now. Those emotions
will come out weather you want them to or not. If you don't believe me ask Elrond or
Celeborn I hear myself and Celebrian were most.... interesting." Galadriel smiled at Haldir.
She always knew that he didn't consider her as his mother or Celeborn his father. Thank
the Valar for that! He was the eldest and when his parents died he was already grown.
Orophin and Rumil were still young and they needed guidance and so it was given to them.
She had always considered those two as her sons and Haldir as her March Warden. Celeborn
had always held an affection for Haldir. When she saw that the feelings were returned she
uraguraged them. She hadn't been intimate with Celeborn for a long while and he deserved
more. Snapping back to the present she regarded her March Warden and found him handsome.
He had always seemed cold and distant from everything else around him. This made him seem
more real. Now he would have no choice to show his emotions and it would do him some good.
Thnd ind it would be very funny.
"What are you staring at?" he snapped irritated.
"You not being cold and distant. You seem... real for lack of a better word." she said
honestly.
He was shocked by her words. Did he really seem cold and distant? He had always thought
that he needed to keep his emotions under wraps. Sighing he sank down onto the bed and
wanted to cry. He was so lost and confused, nothing made sense anymore. Sensing this she
sat next to him and embraced him. He returned the hug eager for any solace from his
whirling emotions. A knock sounded and Celebron stepped into the room. Seeing him Galadriel
stood and went to him.
"Have you dealt with our wayward sons?" she asked.
"Yes and no. They wish to apologize to Haldir but I was not sure if he was up to it."
Celeborn said sitting next to Haldir. "They are also unsure as to what you will say or
do." He smiled at his wife.
"Thay shall know soooughough." Galadriel said before she left the room.
Celeborn turned to Haldir and hugged him close. "How are you doing?" he asked concerned
Haldir shrugged and sighed. "Confused, lost, and hungry. How are you?"
"I am fine. I am worried about you. This pregnancy will be hard on you and I will be here
for you." Celeborn looked deep into Haldir's eyes.
Haldir smiled his first real smile in days. "How did Galadriel act when she was pregnant?"
"One minute she was happy, the next angry. Her mood swings were swift and her anger great."
Celeborn smiled. "It was impossible for her to keep her emotions in check."
Haldir smiled weakly when something occured to him. "When can I return to Lorien?"
"A few days. Elrond says your system needs time to get used to the increase in hormones and
your body needs time to adjust. Males that conceive need more time to adjust as opposed to
females." Celeborn explained.
Haldir nodded and yawned. He was so tired and hungry. Celeborn saw the yawn and helped
Haldir into bed.
"Rest and I will get you something to eat." Celeborn said as he left.
Haldir smiled at the prospect of the powerful Lord of the Wood waiting upon him hand and
foot.
TBC.
