Chapter 3/?
Early the next morning, Erestor accompanied Glorfindel to the dining hall to share their final meal before the seneschal left to go on patrol. To their surprise, Elrond was already seated at their table, and instead of greeting them with his usual warm smile, his eyebrows furrowed in a frown of displeasure.
“My dear Elrond, you look rather tired, did you not sleep well last night?” Glorfindel enquired as he sat beside his lord.
“Did you two bother to sleep at all after your stimulating and extremely loud encounter in Erestor’s study?” Elrond teased in return, his voice laced with sarcasm and innuendo. Erestor and Glorfindel exchanged the most innocent of glances.
“Not to mention satisfying and extremely enjoyable,” Glorfindel added with a wicked gleam in his eye.
“Aye and exhausting. Now that you ask, I recall, we may have slept for a few minutes, but only long enough to renew our strength,” Erestor replied with a shrug.
“Do not fret, Elrond, your peace will not be disturbed for several nights. I am leaving for the northern borders after I have sated my hunger … for food, that is. I can never have enough of my lover,” he added in a lowered voice ore ore elves entered the hall.
“Is it not well past time you two made your relationship public knowledge?” Elrond asked, raising his eyebrows in exasperation.
“It would certainly prevent every single elf in Imladris from propositioning my irresistible Balrog slayer,” Erestor mused.
“They do not all fancy me, my love. I have deterred many who expressed a wish to sample your delights,” said Glorfindel.
“So I have heard, but Lindir is not one of them,” replied Erestor as the silver haired minstrel entered the hall. “You owe him an apology, love.”
“I know,” Glorfindel said as he left Erestor’s side and walked over to Lindir. He bowed politely then spoke a few words of obvious apology that were accepted by the minstrel as was the invitation to join Elrond’s table.
“You did not answer my question,” Elrond said when Glorfindel and Lindir were seated.
“If you are suggesting a binding ceremony then I am afraid it is far too late for that, Elrond. As the respected lore master you are, you of all people should know that by every law and custom of the Firstborn, and the Valar as our witnesses, that Glorfindel and I have been bound ever since the first night we expressed our love for each other with our bodies,” replied Erestor with a softness on his face that only Glorfindel had ever seen before as he recalled that wondrous night and he looked with open adoration at his seneschal as he felt a strong hand grip his under the table.
“I think I would like to openly declare my love for you with some kind of informal ceremony, my beloved Erestor,” Glorfindel admitted. “I love you and I want everyone to know it,” he added as the advisor stared into his eyes.
“I love you, too, my golden one, and if that is truly your wish then I will gladly grant it, here and now,” said Erestor as he reached behind Glorfindel’s neck and drew him close, claiming his lips in a deep, passionate kiss. When they finally parted for air, they were met with stunned silence followed by a rousing cheer from Glorfindel’s warriors. Tears of happiness filled the seneschal’s eyes and he found he was unable to resit pulling Erestor into his arms for another kiss that was so powerfully erotic and filled with lust and need that all sense of discretion left them as they ground their hardened arousals together. Elrond and Lindir exchanged a look of alarm, and with great difficulty separated the lovers before they ravished each other on the dining table.
“I suggest you two finish this in private,” said Elrond when he finally gained the attention of the lusty pair, who both nodded and quickly left the dining hall.
“Was that part of my begetting day gift?” Glorfindel asked as his lay with his sated body wrapped in Erestor’s arms.
“Nay. It was as much a surprise for me as it was for you.”
“And a very pleasing one at that, for us and all the onlookers,” snickered Glorfindel.
“I am afraid my reputation as a staid and aloof advisor no longer exists,” Erestor mused with a hint of disappointment.
“I would think not, but you have exchanged it for being known as the object of my heart’s desire, if that is any consolation.”
“And the envy of all those young hopefuls. Aye, I find I like that idea very much. Come, I will show you your gift before you leave so that you will return soonest from your patrol,” said Erestor as he hurriedly dressed.
“This is simply an old tapestry,” said Glorfindel when they finally stopped wandering through the less frequently used part of the Last Homely House.
“Pull it aside,” Erestor urged, watching with amusement as Glorfindel did so to reveal a hidden doorway. “Here you will need this,” he said offering his lover a shiny brass key. Glorfindel unlocked the door and allowed Erestor to lead the way. They climbed a flight of stairs that ended at another door that was slightly open. With a gentle shove, Erestor pushed Glorfindel forward into the spacious chamber that was devoid of all furniture except for a thick rug before the fireplace.
“I have never been here before,” said Glorfindel as he walked over to the large archways that opened out onto a balcony. “This view is stunning, Erestor!” he said as he gazed on the waterfall that seemed to cascade from the very roof into the river below, parting the trees that grew down the mountainside that was spread out before them.
“We have total privacy here, and will not be disturbed whenever we chose to come here. And neither will we disturb anyone, especially Elrond,” he said, his eyes darkening with desire. “My love this is my gift to you, these are our chambers, Glorfindel, not yours or mine alone and as you can see we have much work to do to make it our own. So what do you think?” Erestor asked, waiting nervously for a response.
“It is a wonderful gift, beloved and I think that my patrol can wait a little longer while we make good use of that soft looking rug, and our new found privacy,” said Glorfindel as he lifted Erestor into his arms and carried him to the hearth.
